Easily one of my favorite albums of all time....I can't explain it....just love it. It' sounds old and new....combines genres of music and has legendary guests.... it's a masterpiece.
I usually don't listen to this album as much as the others, not because it's bad...it's far from it, but because it makes me cry from how good it is (Melancholy Hill and Empire Ants in particular).

I think people are partial to the album that they first discovered regardless and biased against anything that is different than that one that's most special to them with a lot of people. A lot of negative comments about the new one but I think it's masterful in how it begins and progresses grabbing your hand with the very first notes and taking you on the entire journey of the album giving just as a unique experience as that happened to me and I had with their very first drop 20 years ago. Been a huge fan from the beginning guess life and busy adulting is maybe why I lost track and never heard there amazing progressive more recent work. It's been fun revisiting their entire catalog discovering the new stuff and going back to the foundations they have built on theouout their extraordinary careers amd albums. Think I'll be on a gorillaz kick for awhile. There are no bad albums or songs !hahhah
everyone calls good artists ahead of their time, but Gorillaz is that in a different way. thats why theyve always been so popular. their lyrics and sound will never stop fitting to a time ahead of when they were released.
Plastic Beach definitely my favourite album I love how all of the songs go together. Also my favourite song is definitely Superfast Jellyfish because I love how odd it sounds if you don't like that song I will say give it a couple listens because it can be grower for some people.
