Oh damn, is that how this style is actually classified? I was trying to describe her style... "Bait and switch routine" makes more sense than anything I was trying to call it! 👍🏼
I’ve always loved her. I saw her when I was a sad angsty young teen and that sassy smile and razor sharp wit was forever remembered. I look her up when I want to see her wholly unique way of delivering a joke.
Wendy Liebman is brilliant. Her timing is sublime and she rivals any male comedian in originality and delivery. Caught a special of hers years ago, circa '02. Amy Schumer is not even comparable. Super sad that a hack like Schumer is riding her ingenuity.
What makes her act even better is that from the time she goes on stage Wendy owns the room. Complete unwavering confidence. Comedians can learn a thing or two from her. Just go out there and stare the audience down. Be fearless!
Amy Schumer "borrowed" one of W L's lines - "I'm old fashioned- I like it when a man pays - for sex." She changed a couple words to avoid any comparison with the original joke, but the edited version for Amy S wasn't as good. (On UA-cam- a 17 second comparison of both comic's line, one after another under Wendy Liebman Vs. Amy Schumer) W L has a similar line that's even funnier "I'm old fashioned. I like it when a man cries - when I hit him."
She is really funny..her style of talking is smart, because she can change her whole sentence with the last word....never let my child outside (of my BODY) LMAO
Love her!! She has an unsual and very funny sense of what humor is! It's a little out of the box...and very unique! She deserves way much more recognition. She's a genuinely funny woman.
@@DebisisRobustus It was all of the popular female comics of the 2010s. They all were doing Wendy while she was out of the game but no one would say it!
Haha! Damn, that last joke of the first set, I was like, "Oh c'mon, you were doing great..." And she's like, "...and lithium!," and yeah, I lost it haha!
That was her routine about her grandmother being ahead of her time. by leaving the house with her phone in her purse, but a rotary phone. "But she was on the right track - and lithium."
give her a break, this is the hardest style of comedy to generate material for. no narrative stories, no drawn out premises. smart one-liners with tags. bam, bam, bam! just my opinion. she could be doing the act for another 20. I still think she's great.
I remember her old jokes. "There was a guy on the plane sitting next to me and I could tell he really wanted me. (To shut up.) 'Cause you know, I'm talking and he's busy. (Flying the plane.) He's got all his attention focused. (On that bottle of vodka.)" HaHaHa!
What do you call this style of comedy routine? All her jokes are these normal statements with one-liner like punchlines... Or something? I don't know. It's like she ends every sentence with ellipsis when she talks instead of periods? I don't know but it's fucking genius! 👍🏼
What? You invented the triple-liner, or triple-play one-liner. In other words, you're three times funnier than Seinfeld. You're up there with Joan Rivers and Phyllis Diller.
@EddieMurphyish why do u think as soon as i got the chance i high tailed my irish arse outta there :) as if the quakes werent bad enuf you had to deal with shaky stuck up no personality ppl as well:P id rather live in the arizona desert heat any day then deal with CA environment all around as well:) 31 years of fail out in CA 6 years of bliss with 110* + summer temps to follow:)

Beautiful, funny, and down to earth. Perfect candidate!

Best timing in the biz.
Total genius.

She is such a genius! :-)
One of my favorite comics. A master.
I remember watching her on MTV 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour way back in 1991. She definitely hasn't lost her touch.
thanks for the post - her style is one of my favourites
"can u imagine...like no solitaire." haha shes awsome.
She is absolutely HILARIOUS!!! When were these clips originally aired? Looks like the 90's.
You can tell by the pricing, $4.60 for a latte.
I absolutely adore Wendy. She is brilliant.
I'm here because Amy Schumer was here first.
+PeppermintPepperoni or was that Sarah Silverman?

I didn't expect the lesbian joke lol
I have only recently discovered her, but she is a certain favorite of mine. Brilliant!
Amy Schumer copies her comedic delivery where she vaguely throws in a low pitched last minute punchline or word.
she's was influenced by her
note2owns kevin Nealon used to have a similar style. His more recent stuff isn't that style, but his older stuff is.
More than the delivery. Schumer has straight up stolen several jokes from her. It’s so sad to see no credit given to this brilliant woman.
@@paleobc65 Copying is more than being influenced.
TimothyWenk hit it right on the money. Her style is legendary
“I always wanted to be a mother, I’ve been called one” haaaaaaaa
Great standup
I love her. She is so funny!
Why do I think of the assumption song when I hear this woman's comedy show? Way to mislead the crowd brilliantly. She made me laugh. :D
All the best for the semifinals dear. BTW, you were great here.
She is called the 'Queen of the After'.
One of my favorite comedians, and best female comedian in my opinion.
The last 54 seconds were the best...
the death of the true Comedy Central channel killed her and a lot of other comedians careers because they probably couldn't get national exposure.
Top-notch material. Phyllis Diller would be proud. Joan Rivers would be envious.
Phyllis Diller WAS impressed with Wendy Liebman. She called it "the one-two punch."
the only thing hotter than a hot woman is a HILARIOUS,hot woman.
This is clever writing.
I luv her slick wit punchlines after her jokes....
Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist. Not much of a record of it but she was in the 2nd episode
underrated.
The funniest female in the world! (Beautiful to bat!)
The first comedian I've seen to ooze sex appeal.
She's probably the best looking comic out there.
You just made her very happy.
the funniest girl...period
If April Ludgate did stand up
She recycled some of this material for AGT.
Shes so funny!
@hero99a when are you performing? do you teach a stand-up comedy class. i'd like to learn fromm a pro.

Yes, it's pretty unique. Extending and flipping, the unexpected, a reveal.
she's good but she haven't change her performance since 1996!!
No comedian does, only their material changes. And she's been performing since the late 1980s.
Boo him wendy, we love you!

good jokes but worst delivery ever, EVER.
