You can see he using a minimalist approach, I think a lot of beatmakers, myself included get caught up in buying equipment and endless amounts of plug ins and that actually overloads the brain and has a negative effect on creativity because we are buried in options, like the individual above me stated, keep it simple, only have what you need and actually use and use it until it is second nature
@@SHAAADOWWW794 well unfortunately you cannot just buy knowledge, but I get your point, but you definitely need gear to learn on just not absurd amounts, which is more common then you may think because of how accessible music equipment is now more then ever, pick something and learn it, one thing at a time

Propeller head reason is one of the best music engines in my opinion. Great for vocal recording aswell as sampling and making sounds from fresh. Ended up killing my computer in the end but was good while it lasted

Just by looking at the video, the way he did things it looked and sounded like he had an idea what he was gonna do. Maybe he remade a beat, or already knew what sample he was gonna use.
