Although we experienced only a four-day, out & back cruise from NYC in 2000, it allowed us to sample all of this amazing ship's charms. At one point, I ran into the Master himself, who quickly put me at my ease. "It's not like the old days," he told me, and we had a brief chat! I regret never having traveled on the 20th Century Limited or the California Zephyr, to say nothing of RMS Queen Mary. But I'm sure glad I sailed on the Queen Elizabeth 2; it was a taste, however brief, of a now-vanished world. Many thanks to Cruise Nostalgia for posting this enjoyable and appreciated film.
I am happy to say that, although it took me until my early 30s, I have done those things and more..I have traveled transcontinental, several times, via train, and have taken a transatlantic voyage on Queen Mary 2.
I remember seeing the QE2 while on the beach in Kennebunkport Maine in the summers... gorgeous.
Thank you. You brought back fond memories of my crossing. June 1994. I took my mom. We sailed in Princess Grill class.😁
