Wow, thank you so much for this. I remember actually attending a basketball game while I was in town visiting my old college friend. He took me here to see his nephew play against another church. The reason I still remember this place well is because during the game, one of the referees, Laura and I locked eyes. We started making faces and winking at each other during the game and I worked out the courage to go and talk to her during halftime. We talked for what seems like three hours, but it was only a few minutes. After the game we snuck up to the third floor and kissed until we heard someone coming up the stairs. It was such a fun night, I got her number and texted several times, but I never heard back. Thank you, Laura. If you’re out there, I wish we had more time together, and if you see this, feel free to reach out to me! I’d love to know how you’ve been. Thank you Stuart, Katie and Abandoned Atlas foundation for bringing these cherished memories back! I sure hope to see this place restored and brought back into a whole new generation!
It turns out that it is true, there are many churches abroad that are abandoned and sold. I am still confused, why something like that could happen, how the congregation prays on Sundays?
@@AbandonedAtlasFoundation I kept the outside original as it was when I bought it. The main floor I added two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen. I haven’t started on the lower level yet.
That’s there plan! I know they will have an area for a museum, but I believe if it will primarily be used for various churches/wedding venue/artist spaces
This is their UA-cam channel. We will be releasing all of their content, stories, and history about the places they’ve bought and are restoring here! Stay tuned!
On the way! It's still in production. We just made a post on our community team explaining that it will be a while, because I want to make sure I do it right. In the meantime, we have a lot more content outside of Pine Bluff coming out!
I could see myself buying an old school or large building to renovate or modernize, but a church like this?!? Not so sure. So many people still feel like they have emotional claims to what it should become. Even if they have no financial input. I could see the couple changing something and someone suing them for ‘ruining’ some historical aspect of the building. As if they have some right or authority.
What's the most unusual thing you've bought at a garage sale or antique store?

This was super interesting, got my attention when you mentioned Tulsa, since I live there I knew that church look familiar.
Do you have any memories going to this church? We'd love to hear from you for future episodes on this church!
I’m so looking forward to this build!
Us too!
As soon as I saw the aerial view I just knew yup that's my home city. How exciting!
I've always wanted an abandoned church!
Me too! Stuart is living my dream. Well, I should say really any Abandoned building. I’d really love to buy in a bandit high school.
Several cities are turning large buildings into apartments and it is working well

There are fewer congregations these days to support the buildings that are expensive to maintain.
The old structures are expensive to heat & cool,,utility companies,,ran by SATAN,,are killing our house of God
Those parishioners attend another parish/ church. Usually a smaller church building which is less expensive to maintain.
A church is not the brick and mortar. A church is the people and they can gather any where as a group.
@@jilldoemer1634 Agree,,the Basilica in Rome, made from local raw material, amazes modern man-kind 500-yrs later
So many stories where neighborhoods are cut off by expressways and highways that are supposed to be an economic boom for the area.
Amazing video
I% of population should not be excluded, but should also not be prioritized.
Best of luck 🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

And what about the Tulsa massacre that lost so many structures in the black community? Mmmmmm as of 12 minutes in I haven't seen nothing about that
