guys it's a joke. I didn't sell the 86 lol
lol you got me! I love these series as well as the ae86 series :)
loving this series. Having a conquest my self its nice too see other people work on them and make videos.
glad you enjoy them. Yep.. not a lot of people do build vlogs on these cars :(
that man at arms style rim unveil had my dying hahaha
lol I'm a fan of the series. I always love that clip where they present the finished product.
Wow. This is awesome. I know you put a lot of work into it but the results are amazing!
The prep stuff in Australia is called "Prep-sol" short for preparation solvent. It's usually a 50/50 mix of wax and grease remover and water
nice, thank you for that information
Enjoying the series, even if the desired end state is different than I would choose (your car, your project, your work, your decisions).
Your hobby shop is a lot more open minded than the one I go to LOL!
Keep up the good work.
Hey I totally respect that man
Yeah the hobby shop here, they question the things I do all the time. But totally open to anything.
Your editing is so satisfying. You're getting me really hype to work on my car AND practice my photograph/videography. Keep up the excellent work!
having access to all those tools......awesomeness...great looking wheels!
oh god.. access to all them tools is nothing compared to the access to the knowledge of the workers..
They always.. I mean ALWAYS get me out of a pinch.
I was hoping to see them mounted. they look awesome!
lol I think a lot of people did. I was gonna do it but decided to hold it off till the next episode.
your commentary, editing and music choices always makes your videos a joy to watch, you could make a video about rock collecting and i would still like it :D
those wheels turned out really well :D
LOL awesome! when I run out of car related things to film Im glad someone will still be watching.
I said it once in comment section under your video before, but here it goes again - these videos are comedy gold!
Also good work on those wheels. Can't wait for the next episode!
LOL yes I remember that comment, the ae86 joke episode. Thank you again, glad you find my videos amusing.
9:42 "Mother fu%king blue magic happened". That sh%t cracked me up.
They came up bloody amazing! Gave me some motivation to fix up my trispokes...
it was tough man, woulda been even tougher if not for the lathe but definitely worth while.
Awesome results. Great job
thank you :)
wow , looks amazing
In the end your work paid off and i've got to say that your rims look pretty nice...oldschool with a nice finish on the dish
Btw: The nason stuff you used is a cleaner to prep the surface of the rims for paint by removing any wax, silicone or grease so the paint sticks better to the surface.
There it is! Thanks Sebastian for that explanation :)
Loving this lil' series. Keep it up!
I will, thank you!
Wow those really look amazing good work keep the videos coming
Damn it, I was impressed when you went gold. Good job man.
No One thanks! I felt like I couldn't have gone wrong with gold
Really nice!
those wheels lookin so gooood! 😍😍😍
shop closing transition music on point. mad jrpg with it
LOL always great when someone catches those little things I put into the videos.
Can you guess what JRPG it came from?
n0eLoL a very strong force inside is telling me chrono trigger inn music but ill be god damned if I can pinpoint it. I played sooooooooo many of those games over the years
on fucking point man! CT indeed! good job!
i fucking knew it LOL. That game was the shit. multiple playthroughs on a new, emulator and psx remake. also have the ds version haha. chrono trigger never gets old
dude seriously, CT is one of my all time... possibly number 1 RPG on my list. I was just saddened that it was my first JRPG i played on the SNES and thought there will be more like it... Dont get me wrong though.. FFIII, Mario RPG.. were fantastic as well.
now you got 2..support noelol
awesome thank you so much! and just like Bassmann I'll link you the newest episode before I drop it on Friday ;)
Thanks for the tips man.. gonna come in handy when I do my advans and longchamps
oOo Advans and Long champs... mmmmmm
yes sir
Ayyy, wheels look so nice man. keep up the great work, always look forward to
your videos
I will, and thank you for always watching!
also.. I might not have anything for next week :( but we'll see.
Yessss! Been waiting for this! Cool to meet you yesterday.
Vault-Tec same here man! sorry you caught me at the wrong time I woulda chatted with you guys some more. If you catch me at the shop again I'll have some extra stickers with me
n0eLoL For sure. Seems like you practically live there so we'll hit you up sometime.
Get a 1jzgte vvti 5 speed halfcut. Fits in easy. Would make a fun car to drive. Uprgade you're brakes and diff for future power increases.
They look so sick.
I did this recently. Refinishing wheels is a once in a lifetime experience. You will use it once and then never again.
I refinished a set of 13" e21 320is mesh wheels made by Lemmerz. They look a lot like BBS mahle or RA wheels. The basketweave pattern made getting coverage inside the spokes very difficult.
I have used blue magic metal polish in the past. It works well, but I hate the smell. I would suggest that you try the meguiars metal polish. It works just as well and smells nice.
When I polished the lips, I made a contraption out of a civic hub, some wood, a large v belt, and a small Briggs and Stratton engine. I wet sanded from 80grit to 3000grit. Stopping at 1500 would have been fine. I didn't get that much better results at 3000grit. The black stuff gets everywhere and my hands were stained for a few weeks because I didn't wear gloves.
I don't know what gold you were going for, but I wanted to mimic BBS gold paint. I used Krylon Supermaxx gold metallic. I sprayed around 5 coats of paint on each wheel. Then I used duplicator wheel clearcoat since I didn't use wheel paint. Each wheel got around 5 coats of clear as I wanted to protect the gold paint from brake dust and wheel cleaner. I'm glad I clear coated them as it really brought out the flakes in the gold paint.
that's something I might have to build later down the road since using the brake lathe was kind of a one time thing. oh ok so not too much difference going all the way to 3000? Yes the black stuff sucked.
The didn't know at the time what gold I wanted but after painting it I realized they need to be darker and brighter, similar to the BBS gold found on the Subarus.
Also definitely need to clear coat them lol.
I cleaned my wheels for the first time today. The clear coat made it SO EASY! All I had to do was spray them with wheel cleaner, spray lightly with water, barely wipe them off with a towel to dislodge the dust, and rinse. I have a BMW so break dust is a big issue and I was really worried about cleaning them, but everything ended up fine. I am going to wax the lips to slow the oxidation down too.
love your videos man, keep up the great work!! I laughed when I saw the you sold the 86 quote. I could only imagine what the comment section would look like hahahaha
oh man, I totally forgot about that little joke and forgot to put something in the comments about it being a joke. Yeah some people weren't happy
Woooooow dude! they look soooo sick now! great job!
Thanks Hermod, I was tempted to add a clip of them on the car but decided to hold off till next episode :)
That paint edit was so fucking sick !!
The end result is going to be so great!
oh yes! Gotta shine up the car now and throw those rims on
Yess! ITS SO SATISFYING!!! YEEEEEEEAHH BOY!!!!!
I look forward to more of your vids, keep up the good work!
thanks I will. fyi I might not have a video next Friday :(
n0eLoL quality over quantity any day broski.
you are badass, i love what you doing for us
I appreciate it man, I'm just glad people enjoy watching them
Great moves Noel, keep it up, proud of you.
Animus Verus thanks Chris! thanks for always supporting me man! gotta make use of that sweet camera deal you gave me
n0eLoL that's really the a6000? It looks really good and you're killing it. let me know if you want to try out my a7ii
Animus Verus you got an a72?!!!! sonofa
n0eLoL yeah and thanks to you're advice I got a sweet 35mm prime lens to go with it.
ayy! Ichiban \o/
Really nice work! But without any spesific information given, When you said that first you have to spray just a small amount of spraypaint and to not spray as close as you did. Well, its just urban myth and ATLEAST with proper spraypaint you spray even coats just like with a spray gun:) People who have used spraypaint alot can pretty surely agree with me!! It effects the looks of the paint with some colours.
It would have really added to the gold if the inner spokes were kept that grey look.
Damn, those wheels look hot now. I want something like that on my SW20.
these would definitely fit on the SW20.. That I have yet to see
It's on my proper account aka this one. Apparently posting links on youtube is a big no-no, even if it's a link to youtube. Go figure :P
nice
i would have left the dark grey in thr middle of each spoke to try and break up all the gold, it would look way better
next time try sanding with one hand and spraying water on with the other had at the same time. result is great! dont leave u hanging haha
I think the red bottle was acetone
daaaaaayuuuum son
its all in the blue magic
I watched this from work, hell yes! Those wheels look siiiick. Kinda scared to restore my own now tbh, that looked hard as hell to do. Holy shiiieet man you included me in the video that's amazing! My meme face from like 4 years ago that was aesthetically modified recently is now immortalized hahaha. Thanks a bunch man! This makes me really happy and gave me a good laugh. It will be funny to hear my friends reactions tomorrow as well. Shit I'm gonna have to call my amateur car channel something with bassmann when I start it XDDD Just a heads up to anyone wondering who the f* I am... Don't click my channel, it's trash. (does have a few low quality initial d memes tho if you're into that) Cheers!
lol, glad you enjoyed it man. I won't be releasing the episode till Friday 1pm GMT in the mean time I'm gonna have to put it on private (it won't let me put it on scheduled release unless I put it in private)
So is it bass(fish) or bass(instrument)?
it's bass like in a musical sense, not neccesarily a bass guitar. I have a friend who plays the bassguitar, I play electric guitar myself. the confusion makes it funny though. I just switched to this name recently and the reason I came up with it was because my mic broke on my headset... and I had this cheap condensator studio mic laying around so i decided to use it for communication in gaming and what not and whenever I would slightly tap it or accidently hit the mic stand.... It would create an intense bass bongodrum earthquake sound, pretty weird sound to be honest so me and my friends had quite a lot of fun with it. It was also fun to get revenge in Counter Strike by disturbing toxic russians and other immature toxic people there with my mic. And so the shortening "such BM" (BM = bad manners) found a new meaning. "Such Bassmann" haha. Also later I slowed down songs and bassboosted them on my channel under the sick artist name "DJ Bassmann" creating a new genre called "neighbourwave" as a joke making it sound like the music was playing further away. What am I doing with my life tbh haha. That's pretty much the story. I like fishing too though :) P.S: I will ask annoying noob questions from time to time on patreon like the car pleb I am xdd also maybe share some pictures from my future car projects. Btw I will go look at a datsun this weekend and if I buy it I will buy one of those sick "dat ass" stickers from you if there are any left :D Also sent this message on your patreon. Dunno if you read stuff on there :O
Bass (sound/instrument) got it! Good to know man.
FYI: I still dont understand Patreon..
Also what Datsun were you looking to get?
A worn out 1979 datsun sunny (140y). Pretty cheap though and possibly rare? First one I've seen although in general retro jdm cars are hard to come by in sweden. The plan is to learn how to restore it and possibly film it while I do.
About patreon you need to motivate your followers to donate and become patrons. It could be economical reasons or exclusive stuff you provide for those that support you. For example you could already write on patreon that you let patrons watch the next episode before friday if its done. If you want to make that into a thing.
If only they weren't staggered. I would love these on my subie
oh damn if I had a square set up the 16x9s in the front would of been perfect
Looks good. But I'm lazy. I would have painted them first and been a little messy. Then when you sand and polish the rim, you'll remove any overspray. Any plans with those center caps? Wheel color? Body color? Sticker?
that's actually not a bad idea..
The center caps.. probably just gonna clean them up. They look fine for now.
bro! wheres the other videos!?!?! and are you going to do an engine swap or stay stock
Ou mai got... those wheels looke amazing man nice job, but i'm heartbroken, you sold the 86😪😪😪
mizael7341 lol don't worry it was just a joke
You know if you polished the other surfaces as well. Then only painting only the square cone sections off the wheels. You would have had the lip edges and the raised console surfaces looking polished. Given them painted offset retro look. You still only sand off the raised painted surfaces making them polished as well. I would have painted them the color off the car instead. Listen where do you live? what state?
N0elol you sold the 86 part cars right?
no not yet, been meaning to chop it soon and sell whatever I can.
but what do they look like on the conquest??? you can't just leave us hanging like this.
I totally did that on purpose :)
Do you know what that stuff is?
Nah son.
The guys at the shop always lead me in the right direction so I trust them :)
Oh haha i was just making a really really bad pun referring to the can of paint surface prep.
oh christ... I just got that. That was a pretty good one man.
Sponsored by Diet Pepsi.
yuck.. I actually found that can in the trash.
It's no more AE86 "second Chance"????? Told me its a joke..... :(
Alink's Project yeah no worries I still got it lol
How gay I am on a scale of 1-11 if my dream is to paint my car deep satin red? Its Midnight Blue atm which is why im not painting it, looks good enough!
ahhh.. 1? Deep Satin Red isn't really a flamboyant color in my opinion.
damn.
ill be first* one of these days..
sorry my friend I gave an early link to my Patreon supporter
Imma send you 5$ if you get back to posting AE86 videos again soon
LOL nah man I'll definitely get back to that soon. Probably after this this series finish. It's only got like 2 episodes left.
looks awesome, a lot of work for a worthwhile result. any reason you didn't clearcoat them?
thank you the work definitely paid off. The reason I did not clear coat them was... laziness. That and I didn't know how the wheels were gonna turn out.
n0eLoL you're welcome. and understandable on the not wanting to strip twice as much paint if it looked shoddy. but you can call that lazy if you want hahaha
