It takes a fully fledged cyclist to know and appreciate how cutting a ride short and settling for less sometimes grants you so much peace of mind and allows you to enjoy it all the more.
And it takes you to have suffered and endured the unbereable on a bike to recognise how as small a thing as a lie down on the grass can be glorious at times, to the extent that you are going to remember those liberating instants for the years to come.
I wish you all the good things to come your way up in Scotland, it always stirs me up to witness its majestic sceneries!

Yessssss this is the exact feeling!! That it’s ok sometime to do ‘less’ and still get a great day out of it. We put waaaaay too much pressure on ourselves sometimes to do the hardest / toughest ride. Sometimes it’s nice to just enjoy the simplicity of a ride and people on it :)
It would be great if you could use a folding bike on one of your rides and what's your opinion.
A Tern folding bike with 24inch wheels would be my choice, Great vlog. Thanks Kate.

Stevie is correct, MUFC memories are indelible, but Old Traffird is in tatters. You rode by shortly before the torrential rains caused rivers _inside_ the stadium. Hope SJR can fix the club!

Any tips on motivation?
I’ve been off outdoor bike since September last year and off zwift pretty much this year. Just totally lost the bug😢😢
Suppose one motivational tip for myself would be that I’ve signed up for the New Forest Garmin Ride 😊😊 you’ve very kindly spoken to me there a few times the last couple of years (and kindly gave my friend a big hug last year❤).
It’s only 12 weeks away 😱😱
I hope to get out on the way home from work, on some of the Garmin route, a couple of times a week, about 25 miles ish each time out.
And whatever I can fit in on weekends.
Any top tips greatly appreciated.

Finally it’s coming on really fine sunshiny weather … woo-hoo! I’m starting to log some proper road rides. My plan this year is to keep having fun banking loads of km’s, stay healthy and not break any more bones! PS: You’ll be glad to know that I’ve finally added dates to my ride snacks … thanks so much for that tip … they’re delicious!

Great route, didn't recognize any of it apart from Agecroft hill but seemed a good contrast of flats and climbs 😊
It was flat at the start then the HILLS STARTED! and carried on hilling to the end. Great route though :)
The hill at Agecroft was my nemesis growing up on my 5 speed racer!!!

@@KatieKookaburra it was in the 60’s as I’m an old bugger but it took me everywhere in Lancashire and Cheshire.
5 speed? Luxury. I regularly ride it on fixed gear (48x19)

@@KatieKookaburra Yep - you ever thought of doing the Cumbrian Cracker? Normally a wash out in November but they've moved it forward to October 6th and included a 100 mile route.
I baled the 175 in favour of the 125. Sensible option with that heat! Broke my banana per kilometre record I think.

People including myself, may have health issues which make them no longer able to ride a normal bike, so the option of e-bikes is fantastic and you don’t have to use the motor all the time! Can’t wait to see your adventures in Scotland. Thank you 😊
