What a wonderful contrast from city to countryside. I prefer lush green hillsides to highrise buildings. Interaction with the local community residents makes for a richer experience, but I was a little wary of having someone carrying a machete riding in back of you. I began to feel more at ease when you arrived at the restaurant and engaged in more conversation with the local residents while sharing good tasting food. I realized the chef or chief cook is a good person with good intentions. The three young people at the restaurant encouraged me with their friendliness and openess with no apparent desire to take advantage of visitors new to the area. They seem to have an innocence and hope that too many of our youth in the U.S.A. have lost or had taken away from them. Thank you Ludo for sharing this vlog.

I liked this video very much...so pure and simple. The Muzungu is well rounded with locals, down at the river I thought he was going to be scared of carrying the chef who had a long knife in the hand, but he handled it like pro, so much respect to that.

One more thing dear Ludo. What a great idea to go to Rwanda and make some videos. The country is so incredibly beautiful and people are so friendly, maybe a little more shy than in Nigeria, or what do you think about it? That bamboo forest was just awesome and those trees alongside the river were so lushy. Ludo, In what way people are different in Rwanda compared to Nigeria, this is what interests me very much. you will for sure enjoy, try to find the bar, it is less than 10 minutes from kigali, just follow Nyabugogo river
in that bamboo wilderness, when the chef got on your bike with that knife and you know he liked your bike and wanted for a ride by himself,I was somehow worried about what might happen, could be just like in movies..what if he stab you from behind and took your bike....but I also know its only 30% likely lol. Still you need to be more careful..stay safe and bring us more stories

What so fascinating about nyabugogo river? It's very silted from all the mining and quarrying activities happening in the watershed.
I just enjoyed the ride there, this is it, and wanted to share it, and looks like people also appreciate it.
You have the right people skills for these videos. I have also travelled parts of the world but when I am in a new place with new people and new culture, I am a little guarded. When those guys approached you on your bike I would have become anxious when they started standing around the bike, even though I/we know most people are good people.

Rwanda is such a nice place. I'm so glad their dark history is far behind them now. I'm also very sure that back in Nigeria, Ludo wouldn't comfortably pick up someone in the country side or even in an urban center who has a knife in his/her hands even if there's a proof they'd just finished cutting few bamboos or firewood for a living.🤣🤣🤣
I think I already did it in fact , with a machete .and numerous time without a machete with chickens, lots of goods…

Nice haircut Ludo! You look significantly younger! Loving the Kigali vids and really exemplifies the warmth of Africans. Where in the world can you jump on your bike with a total stranger brandishing a sharp knife in an isolated area you're unfamiliar with! Kudos to you. BTW what happened to your previous blue bike?

he has a machete, he is young and strong, we are alone in this bamboo forest... should i stay or should i ride fast...
but finally we had an amazing time, i am happy i stayed and talked to him

What a country! Your video has certainly brought that country into positive global focus. 'Removed' illegal migrants from U.K. seem to have nothing to worry about. Also I loved the way the Skol lorry driver @34.00 took exception to the cyclist getting a free tow. First he swerves, then actually stops on the road. Would've been interesting to see 'what happened next'? lol. I'll be buying you more beers soon ...and something for your missus and the girls.
I think the truck stopped to turn left, no link with the free rider.it is very common here,but you d better not been caught by police …fine would come .Rwanda is a very nice country yes .this is only the beginning of the trip,I am expecting some amazing adventures

In Rwanda we have history with machetes because It was used as the main killing tool in 1994 Genocide so one one can use it as to scare people and in Rwandan culture we say The Visitor is treated as a King. This is why Rwanda so far I can say is the safest country to travel in

Hola Ludo! So, what do you think of Kigali's new modern center (mostly built and funded by the Chinese)? And another thing, at least in the downtown area it's clean, isn't it? In Sabbatical's video, the center looked very clean. A bit different from Lagos, right? As you have noticed, Rwanda is a hilly country. The scenery must be magnificent for sure. One more question, what bike do you ride in Rwanda? I doubt you didn't order air freight for your q-link lol. Btw, how did you chose to go to visit Rwanda? Here in Gran Canaria everything's fine. Looking forward to summer holidays and a trip to Finland.

I rented the bike in Kigali, when i arrived there. To tell you the truth about my choice, the price of the ticket i found really helped me a lot to make this choice, i had a very good price from lagos !

@@Ludo_Liu What's the brand of the bike you're riding in Rwanda? How about an immersive ride from Kigali to some other city? Would be interesting to see how traffic flows on a Rwandan freeway. I also love long motorcycle videos and it seems that the roads are in much better condition in Rwanda than in Nigeria. Do you have time to make a motorcycle video for us?
