Honestly, they did this scene justice. While endeavor and rei are to blame for neglecting toya, ultimately, toya chose to become dabi and kill innocent people. Now, they'll all have scars both figuratively and literally to remind them all of the tragedy that is toya (dabi).

Not really, he can live with the knowledge and do his best everyday to be a better man. That outcome is 100% better. What you're describing isn't redemption, it's just vindictiveness. Just like Dabi shouldn't necessarily die for his crimes, the best outcome would be him living and accepting that what he did was wrong and trying to be a better person.

We don't know what the ranking was in the period immediately after the war... but in the manga years later, LeMillion is the first hero, Todoroki is the second, Tokoyami is the third, and Bakugou, due to his mistreatment of fans, his ranking drops every year... and this was a big joke. I thought first place would be Bakugou or Deku in the future... Annoying Bakugou didn't benefit from the lessons he learned throughout the series.
