How to Hike Hummingbird Trail and Secret Swing Near Los Angeles

- Hummingbird Trail in Simi Valley, Los Angeles is one of those unassuming, difficult yet rewarding hikes. Rated difficult, this trail involves a relentless incline, and rock scrambling, and requires good navigation skills. However, not only will you get spectacular views of the Simi Valley/Santa Susana Pass area, and fun little wind caves along the way, but there's also a secret cave with sweeping views of the mountains afar. Inside this secret cave, there are a few secret swings that are strategically placed for the best views of the area.

Hey guys! Greetings from a couple Angelenos currently in NC. Stephen's spent a lot of time in & around Simi years ago, but has never heard of this spot. Thanks for showing us around. Might have to check it out when we make it back that way!

8/22/22 update - Hiked this earlier this week - a couple things - the post at 4/10th of a mile (where you go left) is gone. Also, the white bunnies have been painted over. Look for purple hearts - follow the purple hearts - still challenging to find.

Hope you have fun. Just FYI, there are no white rabbits anymore. You can see the faint traces if you're looking. Someone cleaned out most of the graffiti along the way, including the white rabbit as well.

It is a super cool spot. It might be best to let it cool off a little before you go. That hill would be brutal in the heat!
How far is this trail from Los Angeles? I'm visiting southern California soon from Pennsylvania

how do I find now that the rabbits are gone?
Do you use alltrails? You can see tracks that other people have left and follow the ones that made it to the cave. Unfortunately, that is probably the easiest way at the moment.
