I often tag along with Operation Fancy Free in Jackson county, West Virginia as they battle the cat overpopulation problem through humane trap neuter and return. These are their stories.

I adopted a cat from the shelter, his age is 2 years old , after having him for 5 days he ran out from the garage to the back yard for the past 2 months he comes to our backyard asking for food, we do give him food and water but no success in trapping him, he eats the food ,we go inside every time we come closer to talk to him or pet him he jump the fence he won’t come to us but when he is hungry he meows for food , it’s like he is telling us leave the food out and leave me alone , he won’t even eat it unless we go inside.
We try to trap him he won’t enter any kind of traps what ever we use we tried every trick in the book, it’s not working he is very smart and not trusty, very friendly though very nice cat , it seems he has been trapped before we adopted him.
I never seen a cat like this before .
Please advise me. My Naighbour start to get annoyed with him jump to their yards and meowing for food.
Help.
