One joke they did i remember was a long time ago. When they showed Anime at nights they aired Big O! It was supposed to be the series finale. They aired the wrong episode. They admitted they goofed and the next week they start up with the same exact wrong episode for about 5 seconds then have a title card "just kidding" and play the episode.

The 2012 April fools joke was meant to be a joke but it became one of the most legendary nights in adult swim history, viewership that night jumped from 200k to 1.4 millon at the peak. They opened the door for one night and we flooded the gate demanded our anime back and we won. Thank you adult swim for actually listening to us.
Like most things in my childhood, [Adult Swim] was one of the few things I discovered by accident. After realizing I had to be sneaky about it, I realized that [Adult Swim] was probably the most interesting program on television and still is. Those late nights watching in secret unbeknownst to my parents was worth it.

I found Adult Swim when I was 8 years old. It's been my favorite TV channel ever since. I used to watch Metalocalypse with my dad until CPS tore apart my family in 2009 and my parents had to move to separate apartments with no TV. I just got the chance to show my dad season 3 and 4 of Metalocalypse all these years later on my Roku TV

I always found adult cartoons interesting, I love the comedy, foul mouth, sexuality and drugs. It makes life enjoyable it makes it fun now to be an adult, life is supposed to be fun as well and this program has bring life to those who have a good sense of humor

If they are hiring based on talent and who really wants the job, then I see no problem with there not being a lot of women. I honest don't care about the sex or gender of the people working the job as long as they deserved and earned the job.

The problem is when you hire a person for a network like Adult Swim, the person has to be open to just about anything. The whole PC crap and SJW stuff needs to be sidelined in order to just do stupid that people will want to watch just out of the shear joy of watching something you normally wouldn't see anywhere else. No politics, racism to a minimum for jokes about the stupidity of stereotypes (Boondocks), and just plain weird and unpredictable.
Can you honestly say that you know alot of women who think outside the box and think of stupid, random things we've seen on Adult Swim without bringing up something about controversy and unfairness in the world? There are few who actually think like that no matter how you feel about it. So the numbers of women to men working for Adult Swim makes more sense if you're more realistic about your thinking and not so focused about how life should be more fair and how it isn't and things should be a certain way.
I'm all for equality in all work places, but no matter how you look at things, having more men than women in certain places of work such as Adult Swim is easier to see why if you've seen the crazy and weird things that comes out of it. And I wouldn't want Adult Swim to change to just satisfy some executive or political group's desire. So long as the weird and stupid remains and good stuff comes out of it, then leave Adult Swim alone.

Hallogallo Not really a counter-argument just my opinion on the subject. If you feel otherwise that's fine, I don't want to force you to see the world as I do. Personally I just believe the gender and sex of the people working there shouldn't matter. All that matters to me is if they deserve the job.
My two favorite pranks adult swim has done: the 2012 Toonami prank (one of the greatest moments on tv for our generation), and the Rick and Morty in 2017

I'd kinda like to see Shin Chan make a come back, I only saw it once when it was originally on and I had to stuff my face into a pillow to keep myself from waking up my family I laughed so hard! Ghost Stories (the anime) would also fit in very well. (Although it would have fit in even better if it aired in the early 2000's when the references were still relevant. But I guess they could air it as an April fools joke.)

I literally JUST told my fiancé about the fart sounds during Fullmetal Alchemist.
I remember that night so vividly. My dad was so pissed that we couldn't watch the episode without the fart sounds. I was just getting him into the show, so he wanted to watch it in seriousness, so the sounds got annoying to him.
I, on the other hand, was laughing my 10 year old ass off because of continuous fart sounds.
Good times.
They also got The creators of FLCL (Fooly Cooly) to make 2 new seasons. After years of trying they finally did it!

Since 2005 I would get up during The Goodnight Show on Sprout and climb my bookshelf to the remote. I taught myself the numbers of the channel for Adult Swim AND knew what time things like Robot Chicken would come on at 3 years old. The things we did to watch Adult Swim.
