Great question!! For me, it was honestly worth the price to go all out and get these fully custom ones. I play a lot and there’s still nothing wrong with my putty/DIY pair (foam tips have never been good for me…) but the earbuds themselves only had two drivers, while these total custom ones have four…so for me, definitely worth the investment!! Still, for a lot of folks, I know the price difference is a big consideration, so I still truly believe both are good options!! Does that help??
@TheHobbyMusician that was helpful :) one last question though, does the CIEM have better noise isolation than the DIY? My use case is for working in a loud environment so blocking out the absolute most outside noise is my priority.
Another great question! I’ll say that honestly, the sound isolation aspect is very similar between both the CIEM and the DIY…(again, not accounting for the difference in the drivers for sound quality, etc. ). Both methods are huge improvements over the generic tips that are out there. Hope that helps!!
@TheHobbyMusician Sounds like DIY is currently the right choice for me but I'm definitely gonna be putting money away to pick me up a pair of CIEM's next year. Thank you for helping me with my decision:)

How does a CIEM compare to your custom eartips you made in another video vs foam ear tips? Worth

@CVNTGETENOUGH It’s my pleasure and I’m sure you’re going to love both methods…(I had to chunk money away to make it happen for myself too 😆)!!
