It's the name of a well known tree which produces aromatic leaves often used as seasoning in the cuisines of South and Southeast Asia. The leaves of curry patta plant is also used as a herb in Ayurvedic medicines in which they are believed to possess anti-disease properties. We call it Narasimha here in our Assam. It grows naturally here and there in our house campuses. It grows well in shades and moist soil.
