Rifle is a neat little town. I'd never heard of it until last month, when my family left the interstate at Rifle to cut up to Park City, UT, to visit family. We weren't able to spend much time in the town, but we did drive through on the way up to Rifle Gap and Rifle Falls State Park. The area is great for a side-trip adventure.
Now, boys, you gotta check 'em at in the sheriff's office. You can get them back as you leave. We want things nice and peaceful here. Driving 3rd St. in the winter must be lots of fun, and I imagine there's a couple worse than that. Business must be good with all the new housing stock. If you want the opposite of western Kansas or Nebraska in the winter, try this instead. As usual out there, great views all around.

Very beautiful the Birch Ave.
looks very beautiful surrounded by mountains but also very dry.
Check out the CO State Park N of town with the falls - only thing worth seeing in Rifle.
