Its OC equivalent was the Sea Lake and they both sold for around the same cost. That was just before OC was sold in the late 1950s. As you know, one of the causes to their demise was that Penn was making reels that were good quality at lower prices. - Dennis
What a nice example of an early Penn “knuckle buster” reel. I also like these early reels but I don’t use or collect conventional reels like this. I was recently given a solid stainless steel conventional reel called a “Sea snd Lake” that was made in CA by ta company called Pentagon Products Inc. If anyone knows anything about this reel I’d be very grateful for that information. Obviously the reel has some connection to our military but that is all I know about it. It is a very heavy reel due to its solid steel construction. It has a great AR and star drag but there is a problem with the freespool mechanism. Again if anyone knows about this reel I’d really love to know about it. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to everyone and especially to you Dennis! - Chris
fisherman were tougher back then, That little spinning reel you showed a few days ago that you used when you were young that had the pointy half bail,. If you don't hold it in the right place, it will eat your hand up
Hey Dennis great job on the video thanks nice reel 🐟
You bet - Glad you enjoyed it - Dennis
I bet that was popular and economical reel when it hit the market, compare to OC

At least in our minds!
I don't know much about Penn but that one has gotta be a 3rd or 4th generation Reel .
The reel was made between 1950 and 1980. This one was probably from the 1970s. - Best wishes -Dennis
