Many who sing well, but we can ask them if they can switch credibly between jazz, edm, pop, country, and classical music in no time. The most fascinating and fun aspect of Angelina’s genius level musical talents is that she does keep surprising us. It’s the unpredictability that keeps us on our toes and loving what she created. Very pleased to see that my Canadian friends know the correct application of when to make a jazz-face and when to apply jazz-hands. (It always makes me feel safe when some rules survive madness). This is obviously not jazz-hands territory. This requires the face to get involved. This little song by a young girl carries way more swag than one would expect.

I agree this is an upbeat and new (but totally Angelina) vehicle for her to communicate her message but have you ever heard a more deep and thoughtful lyric than "Seventh heaven on my shoulders falls heavy"? Wow! Contrasting the happy and blissful idea of 7th heaven with the weightiness of carrying/achieving that and the journey to be followed. But the ever-grounded Angelina reminds us to do it being committed to each moment, to love yourself, no bitterness, little sadness, and above all, keep your hope! She is a gem! BTW, just a question since you're such a talented singer yourself, given that Angelina sings often in a complex style with lots of voices, intensities, touches and details, how hard would it be to cover her songs? That's easy, PJ's, as I'm retired & only wear a suit for weddings & funerals. When this was finally released at midnight, I was all ready with my tissues & expecting a good cry. Instead , I'm bopping around to a jazzy up-lifting song with classic Angelina vocals. This girl always surprises me. Like you, I was expecting something totally different. That's part of her appeal, you never know what you are going to get except that it will be amazing. The only negative for me is it ends abruptly, you're bopping away with your eyes closed & all of a sudden it's over. Maybe it's to make you want more? She had an unresolved ending in Million Miles, as well. Nice reaction/analysis Schnell.

Schnell, IMO, Angelina succeeded in creating a new genre by incorporating elements from jazz, blues and pop. The most fascinating and fun aspect of Angelina’s genius level musical talents is that she does keep surprising us. It’s the unpredictability that keeps us on our toes and loving what she created. As far as I’m concerned she’s just the most phenomenally gifted musical talent to come along in a very long time.

Very pleased to see that my Canadian friends know the correct application of when to make a jazz-face and when to apply jazz-hands. (It always makes me feel safe when some rules survive madness). This is obviously not jazz-hands territory. This requires the face to get involved. This little song by a young girl carries way more swag than one would expect.

I agree this is an upbeat and new (but totally Angelina) vehicle for her to communicate her message but have you ever heard a more deep and thoughtful lyric than "Seventh heaven on my shoulders falls heavy"? Wow! Contrasting the happy and blissful idea of 7th heaven with the weightiness of carrying/achieving that and the journey to be followed. But the ever-grounded Angelina reminds us to do it being committed to each moment, to love yourself, no bitterness, little sadness, and above all, keep your hope! She is a gem!
BTW, just a question since you're such a talented singer yourself, given that Angelina sings often in a complex style with lots of voices, intensities, touches and details, how hard would it be to cover her songs? Thanks.

That's easy, PJ's, as I'm retired & only wear a suit for weddings & funerals. When this was finally released at midnight, I was all ready with my tissues & expecting a good cry. Instead , I'm bopping around to a jazzy up-lifting song with classic Angelina vocals. This girl always surprises me. Like you, I was expecting something totally different. That's part of her appeal, you never know what you are going to get except that it will be amazing. The only negative for me is it ends abruptly, you're bopping away with your eyes closed & all of a sudden it's over. Maybe it's to make you want more? She had an unresolved ending in Million Miles, as well. Nice reaction/analysis Schnell.

I have noticed that her voice is getting slightly deeper recently. She could be the next Amy Winehouse. The other singer is Diana Ankudinova. Her singing voice is getting higher. Which is fine. She already has the low part of her voice covered.
