I remember this like it was yesterday. I was in Haarlem watching it on the big screen. Mew somehow showed up and rocked the fucking world in a way no one expected. THIS SONG. They destroyed the Arena and they destroyed the Music Awards. Truly one of the best moments in all modern music. Those fucking drums. People were losing their shit. Deservedly. It was fucking wild bro. Mew Danish Music Awards Snow Brigade was one of the very finest moments in all modern music those fucking drums. That, my friends, is called a BATTERY Big love to The maddest Danish lads
Mew delivers one of the most epic rock songs ever made. Its complex but has this dreamy flow, that makes me, a big, old inked danish Metal dude, almost getting wet eyes. Btw.MEW : 'M'ANY + F'EW & FRENGERS : 'Fr'iendly Stra'ngers. Fuck the mainstream ( :
10. Enable to bring out the something You want to know beneath the snow In winter you´re an affiction That repeatedly defeated me I´ll find you somewhere Show you how much I care Know that there is no escape from my snow brigade Bring out the someone You need to see for jealousy We all know one day you´ll leave behind Your everything And feel the spring come Cos I´ll find you somewhere Show you how much I care Know that there is no escape from my snow brigade My arms retreat I wish they were there to hold you I´ll find you somewhere Show you how much I care Know that there is no escape from my snow brigade
The visuals with the lights, the wind and the snow forces me to forgive the playback. I think it was mandatory at DMA back then. But P3 guld showed the way with a 100 percent live award show.
Is this playback, or are they actually playing. I have huge respect for Mew, and I would expect them to play live on all occasions, but this sounds to much like the record!
samee0101 I heard them at Northside as well. It was an awesome concert, one that I'll remember for a very long time! No doubt that this is a fantastic live band. But Listening to this performance again, there is no doubt in my mind that it's playback. His voice it too perfect in pitch (even for Jonas Bjerre) and sounds very compressed just like on the record. Mew is not to blame though, I guess this was a matter of bringing the music to the masses through an award show focusing on (mainstream) Danish music. My guess is that they weren't offered the opportunity to play live.
@Quill Inkwell It's a music awards show, they are more than likely to use playback. If you listen to the original track and compare it to this, it sounds exactly the same. If it was live, you would naturally hear variations in his vocal tone and in the instruments as a studio track is extremely hard to replicate live in its entirety. Don't get me wrong, using playback can be an advantage to bands and is nothing to be ashamed of as clearly Mew are a well-established band capable of putting on incredible live performances - I'm even seeing them live myself next year here in London! I stand by my judgement that it's playback and I can't waver your judgement of the contrary either but I'd like to say that mine is justified due to my Music studies and support of similar comments in this comment section!

Bring out the someone
You need to see for jealousy
We all know one day you´ll leave behind
Your everything
And feel the spring come

My arms retreat
I wish they were there to hold you
I´ll find you somewhere

Playback or not, I just really happy to see the complete formation of them.
Playback for sure. But i guess thats expected when its music awards here in scandinavia. Everything must be so "Perfect"
🖤
I was just thinking the same... about playback... but I think the drums are live
стильный видос!
It´s a playback, it´s obvious how the chorus opens up but it doesn´t take anything from the majestic song it is anyways. Enjoy.

Heard them live on Northside Festival this year. They sound so good live. It's unbelievable. I don't think they use playback. Ever.

Yes, i definitely think that it's a playback but even if it's a playback, their performance and stage presence is fantastic! Love it! :D

Only empaths can make songs like this.
si es playback pero a quien le importa? si en vivo la ejecutan igualita =)
2020 and still raping this song
I thought the voice was female until I saw this video
The only good danish band ffs haha
@Quill Inkwell Dizzy were good back then. The stuff they make now is crap.
