Hey everyone, I know the sound on this video has been difficult to hear for some of you so you can find an updated video with a full list of 20! right here: ua-cam.com/video/7TXDdC9s7m0/v-deo.html

Most of my Decluttered things enthusiastically appreciated by recipients!!! If I don’t use it, someone else could really love it!!!
It definitely is more wasteful to have some thing shoved into a closet. Let the item be used for which it was created!
You don’t have to wait for the rest of the family. I was shocked when my husband just told me to donate one of his shirts that was too small. Finally he’s on board

Awesome video, super interesting topic, just an observation I found the background music kinda overpowering and distracting in this particular video maybe a little tone down next time. Thanks for the clarifications.

#7, Procrastinating because it feels like it is a huge project really resonates! Separate comment, the music playing in the background of your video is so hard for me, because I have hearing issues. I wish I could mute the music! Just hear your voice. Thanks for all your explanations, they all have merit!

Sherrie here- Definitely #7 and I have done decluttering in the past but didn’t finish, so I’m making it bigger than it is. Thanks for the reminder that it’s not that complicated or even time consuming it’s more about just getting started and actually turns out to be fun and rewarding!

Thanks for watching! Yep, it's easy to make it FEEL like it has to be a huge project :)

Things that were given to us can hold so much power, and I’m not there yet but it’s such a lovely thought that we can get out from under that weight. Things we don’t love but can’t get rid of...like the several boxes of very old family photos my parents left behind when they passed away two years ago (six months apart), just almost paralyze me. Thank you so much for the encouragement to make our own spaces supportive to ourselves...even if I don’t have the courage to fully do it yet.

I used my iPhone and took photos of the important pictures and keep them on my iCloud. This way they will never get lost.

I have a problem especially if the item is hand made. Or if I think the giver will notice it missing and have their feelings hurt.

Definitely #2. It's hard to get rid of stuff that "might have value." If I can give it to someone who wants it, I can easily let it go. I recently gave my childhood table and chairs to a friend who needed a table for her new small house. I was glad to do it!

Try also putting it on free cycle if it exists in your area. It's nice to see a happy person turn up and gratefully walk away with your junk

I loved this list and am guilty of many of them lol. I especially resonate with the wasteful aspect (#2). The way you broke that down, really makes me feel better. It is definately more wasteful to be sitting here not being used, than to be donated to someone who could use it! 💜💜

Thank you a lot for a useful context! Please, could you make a background music a little bit lower, it interrups your speech. Thank again.

My room mate said I have two channels open at first .. and for me to stop one of them immediately. I couldn't find the other one. ALL THAT NOISE is coming from her !!! Really we can't hear her. I like her and would like to know what she is saying; but I can't. I would like her to use the same info and the same script and without all that background noise.
    yay Mia !!!

I would say that yes, "normal" people would not want you to keep something that you don't want. However, I have a very contrary experience every time with my mom. She remembers every single thing she has given. She will ask every time she comes, oh where is _____? You still have _____, that was such a pretty shirt, plate, etc, etc. We live in a smaller town with only one donation center. If myself or my sister sent stuff for donation and she saw it there (her favorite place to shop) she would get upset. Both my sister and I have told her we don't want stuff, please do not give us anymore things, no "presents". She will not stop. She even gets upset when I get rid of my own things (not from her) that she liked- clothes, furniture, kitchen products, etc.
I suppose that this experience is probably on the extreme, but still it is a reality of what some people go through.

Stick to your boundaries because you deserve to have a space that feels good and supportive to YOU. She'll adjust (or she won't but the way I look at it is- that's not your problem)

For me, not wanting to clean something is a good reason to give it away.
At the moment almost all of my laundry is done by hand in a dishpan in my kitchen sink.
So as I sort through my dirty clothing I promise myself that I am washing an item for the last time.
Hand wash, drip dry and donate.
    Bye bye clutter.
Thank you for your intelligence and compassion.

    What does holistic mean?

    • @MiaDanielle
      @MiaDanielle  3 роки тому +1

I should do a full video on this (you inspired me to make one) but essentially, a holistic space is something that is curated to be a support system in every aspect (physically, emotionally, mentally, energetically, etc.).
