- Ardha Salabhasana, a simple backbend posture in Yogasana is a preparatory exercise for the Salabhasana or the Poorna Salabhasana.
Lie on your abdomen with your chin touching the floor. Place your hands under the thighs. Keeping the hands beneath the body and chin pushed forward, inhale and raise your right leg as high as possible. Bring down the leg gently and repeat the process with the other leg. Continue holding your leg in this position for fifteen seconds.
This Yoga technique tightens the muscles around the hips and also gives a good stretch to the shoulders, chest, and thighs. It also helps in the stimulation of abdominal organs.

Years ago I underwent surgery for an inguinal hernia and the surgeon applied a mesh to contain it. Can I do salabhasana without trying too hard? Or ardha salabhasana? Thank you! Alessandro
