Love your tutorials. Never boring, and they're always simple and straightforward. Question: Is there a way to apply more control over the color so that you can, say, create a pattern in the 'rug'?
My first language is not English but I can Understand all your words in this video and do the same for my school project thank you for all of your tutorials
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus in all honesty it was perfect. If you wanted to make it louder you, actually could because people can always make their speakers quieter, but this one I was actually able to hear everything!

Hi, I am using a file texture to create a pattern on my carpet. I have it plugged into the base mesh aiStandardSurface, as well as the HairPhysicalShader in both the root and tip. The carpet looks really dark. I can up the exposure on my skydome light which fixes the carpet colour but then my background textures get blown out. Do you have any idea how to fix the lighting? thanks!
the tutorial is nice but as soon as i start to change the density to 2 xgen says "you need 2000.000".... after 3 hours of trying and trying again i gave up and will try again in a few days... but very good explenaitions an error on my side does not change the greatness of this tutorial
Hey I have a question! So I want to make my carpet into a layer so that I can hide and unhide it, but when I try to hide it it does nothing. I know its connected to the layer because when I choose "select objects" on the layer drop down, it selects my carpet. Just can't hide it. Any help appreciated
Hey! So I'm trying to create a soccer field with grass with xgen, but need to move the plane to a new location, but the xgen fur doesn't move with the plane object, it stays in place. How can you move objects and have the xgen fur follow?
xGen only works in Maya. I think you'll have to convert the fur into geometry. Modify>Convert> Convert xGen to primitives. I personally haven't tried it, but it might give you A LOT of geometry! Good luck!
if you are using GPU render please let me know how to render those things in Arnold cuz when i try to render they give a error message like this " ignoring shader hairPhysicalShader1, node not supported on the GPU "

Can u say me how to fix polygon fill bleed in substance painter ... When I try to colour using polygon fill it's gets jaggy edges bleed (Not able to fill perfectly inside the box)
I know it's a late reply but I was having the same problem. I found by experimenting (idk if it's the right way to do it but its works) that if you subdivide your square (I used like 20 subdivs on width and length) it will take the full shape of your square

i used to use hair in Blender - in Maya is little bit different,but your tutorial - made it easier for me to use X Gen Hair system.

My maya doesnt have this function. Sad. Xgen interactive groom workspace - yes, but nothing in the Generate - 💔
make sure the xgen plug in is loaded :) that happened to fix it for me
I used a square plane and still get a circular xgen appearing
