As an American, THE way how what he spoke about is also applicable here sadly shows how the Black experience although diverse can have so many commonalities. When he said do we ( Black people ) want to live in trauma, it's something that has always been a constant in the U.S. The time and energy devoted to discussions about oppression and racism while simultaneously living in an era where their personal economic realities speak differently is draining to say the least. I love his solutions to these ways of thinking, and I wish that he would come here, as I've been a follower since his interview with Penuell.
The problem with us this days is we want to make trauma our identity. Let's learn to acknowledge our traumas and work on them so we can move on with our lives to solve other problems.
Listening to you gives me the hope that I myself and those that are around me are actually moving to the right direction. There are so many dis-united black families that are keeping one another from moving forward. Stay strong my brother your words do not fall on deaf ears. When you have haters in your life, you of all people should know that there is something right that you are doing. Keep moving, we are right behind you.
I'm watching this 3 weeks later and what I love about Abba is that he opens a door way for you to use your own mind to question and think about things that are happening and in this age of information we cannot take anything at face value.
Correction Abba , whilst I agree with you on 80% of what you said, I disagree on the 20% ..you are speaking from a position of privilege and power(EGO self)… my view you cannot fully evolve if the odds(without money to survive in a economic system in SA)are against you ! South Africa is structurally setup to disadvantage majority of black people! I am glad you admitted that You are privileged and you have different income streams. In SA it’s not One size fits all! Majority are still battling to survive economically
I heard that argument million times and the said thing is... the more you hold on to that, the more you'll never set yourself free. I got nothing on my name, I had to quit my job to find myself, it's not easy, but very fulfilling. Mental slavery is about not letting go, it's about chasing the wind.
Wish we could come together and invest in ourselves for ourselves by ourselves. Iyakhathaza into ye spirituality the way seyingakhona. It is Capitalism manje.
There's a defeated mentality, the self pity mentality and the on our mentality.Nobody can remove us from that place but ourselves."pineng mona re ma opa diatla"We came to the show to clap hands.
To expect centuries worth of oppression to be remedied in 30 years is unfair… also one of the objectives of colonialism was to create self engineered colonialism/racism where the black man starts to oppress himself, oppression was and is multifaceted and to say “we need to take responsibility”, in which aspect? The educational system, the capitalist system, the justice system… you expect every black person to dismantle systems that were manufactured over the course of +/-400 years in 30 years Anyways we have been warned about house n*****, we must stay focused
For the fact that you are aware of those things, then it means we can work on rectifying them as black people. There's no need for us to make them our identity. Let's work on reversing those things. we no longer live in a stone age, information is on our fingertips.
Vele South Africans have the potential to achieve more by taking deliberate and constructive action. It is encouraging to recognize that the frustration surrounding this issue is genuine. Progress can be made if individuals focus on listening and understanding, rather than becoming defensive. Malome ABBA continue fostering education and awareness to drive meaningful change 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Sometimes we need to be frank about this decolonization/decoloniality and the dismantle of white supremacy. I think for as long as we haven't established black institutions and systems, where a decolonial mind and being can operate, we can't change anything. We use colonial language, clothes, perspectives and ways of being and doing because they're easily enabled by these colonial systems and institutions we operate in everyday. So, for me, the first step into everything is create environments, institutions and systems that allows black people to be and become.
1) Black people are always expected to be the ones who do better. You speak of 30 years, how many billions is Germany paying this year to the Jewish community? How much have they been paid out in total over the past 80 years? Have they ever said enough time has passed and therefore we are no longer going to teach the new generation about what we went through? 2) When you are enlightened you need to understand that you speak from a position of privilege and therefore need to be careful of how you deliver your message because your reality is very different from the reality of others. Less than 1% of black people live the life Abba described. Majority of people face the results of that system everyday, why shouldn't they be told how they ended up in this situation. 3) Let's not over simplify things. White people won't just sit back and watch while they lose power. How many times has a black person tried to open a bank in South Africa, what happened each time? When they eventually learned the size of the informal market in the townships, wasn't Usave etc born. Why are there malls in the townships, because they suddenly care about us?
Two kingdoms can't not rule on the same place, 1 will always dominate and dictate the other 1. We've been all here from the beginning of our existence and the Creator never put us in 1 place form the start. Being one doesn't mean we must live in the same space Give thanks
I think people have fallen for the same trick long enough and are waking up to what is real. Lies become predictable and the way of life is being questioned. We all have gaps. Sakhana nini instead of pointing fingers and pointing out differences that only help divide and not cooperate/collaborate? We are the same and different at the same time. We love and hate each other. Someone else even said if only lightness or darkness existed, we wouldn't be able to see anything. Light and dark work together to help us use our visual senses to recognize and navigate the physical plane. We also don't receive the same benefits from both energies as not all people have the same senses or share the same perspectives when experiencing these energies, among others, every second of everyday. Tbe sooner we recognize that we are all good and bad at things and learn how to apply these energies correctly, we'll the ultimate human goal. Otherwise we'll keep stumbling and tripping over each, in constant confusion until we are inanimate, human being after human being. I just wonder what happens to an animate being when they die. Is there a realization when it's too late to change anything? Do we know our existence and reason for being here? Do we surpress that reason or fully explore it until we're depleted? Does our past really define us or are we masters of our next? From what I've observed, we're here to collaborate because we all need each other and our own personal contributions to make a lasting change and an agreeable system by and for all of us. Some need to be engineers, others leaders, others plumbers, etc. And we need to understand that all these roles are necessary and dependent on other roles and no role is more important than the other. As soon as we reach that understanding, we'll truly be free. We may not even have to exist anymore. Maybe that's why the game is being prolonged 😅
I agree about the programming. We are always conditioned to think about race and politics as the only solution. We forget that the people whom the land was taken from did not view themselves as previously disadvantaged or victims. To me it sounds like we have been given the solution but are stuck in misleading concepts of identity which are illusionary and falsehoods.
Profound observations Abba, I tried to raise my opinion on this but I don't do culture or religion and encouraging black unity therefore won't make sense to preach and pretend with words without any action.😢
I will always say this, this is a race. It's them or us. it's a competition everything is a competition. Black people don't understand this. Ur spirit doesn't understand segregation. Re sponds ability it is a response a ability we have to be realistic about life not ideology coz we fight on ideology but reality says we are in a competitive state. IT NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU WISH
3:39 Is education a religion? Is school church? Depending on your answer to this then yes, I suppose teaching/educating about "African spirituality" is creating a new religion.
@Abba, when I saw the title I got excited because I thought you were going to talk about the matrix and, to us as Abantu, the meaning of living an aeonic (ē-ˈä-nik) life. I was hoping you had some knowledge of this. It would be nice to know if we have an understanding of this.

For the fact that South African history was never part of our schools curriculum and hearing you being against people who’re still questioning the conditions we’re living in on this country then I’m worried about your channel because the same people you’re defending they’re busy trying to put their hands on the constitution and you can imagine what will happen if they succeed..you can say what’s on this earth is for all of us but no white will say the same.

Yes our mindset needs a 180-360 degree shift, and I think the frank talk can also work because some needs harsh push to wake up and move.
