Defensively, they're okay. But, as soon as everyone was telling me that they're a "run the ball" type of team, I knew they were done. If you don't have a passing game, you're not going to beat the buckeyes.
We got so screwed with the format! I would rather play every single other team in the playoff rn, other than Georgia! That being said you need to play the best to be the best and win it all. 34-31 Oregon in another nail bighter!
Yeah well it’s a bracket and at the time Ohio State was not the number two team. I am a Ducks fan and while I think we got the toughest road to win the championship, Dan Lanning is right, if we win it all, there will be zero excuses about us not deserving it. We can’t be nervous to play great teams, all the teams left are great teams, each game is a huge important game
I think Oregon is just slightly better at QB, O-Line, D-Line, RB, and coaching. I think Ducks have the edge here. No question Ohio State and Oregon are two best teams remaining.
QBs are even maybe slight nod to Dillon, Defense I give Nod to OSU, Oline to Oregon but OSU has been rebuilding, RBs probably OSU both backs are elite no question but Kelly needs to scheme for them now after losing the Remington award winner and Simmons...tracking for Outland trophy....safeties definitely OSU...CBs even to leaning Oregon. Without bullshit 12 man penalty strateegery...this defense was tweaked because of Oregon and built to play up tempo now...Caleb Downs and Smith are the best two players on the field they just are...either team can win.
The SEC is weak. As a ducks fan, and I can probably speak for most ducks fans, the one team I didn’t want to face early is OSU. But it’s the path that we’re on and it should be another epic game. It can go either way. I truly believe that.
And also Jordan Birch rushing on the edge, which IMO is great for the Ducks because I think after what happened against Penn State in the B1G Championship will very well lead to a motivated defense. As we saw this weekend, any solid team is gonna get up for a big game at home(oops Michigan😅), let's see em line up on a neutral site to a team that they've already lost to. Potential to be a Rose Bowl classic for sure. Scooooooo Ducks🦆

How good is Tennessee really? There is so much analysis that is based on Team A did whatever to Team B so they can now do it to Team C. It doesn’t play out like that. Each match up is unique and very little is transferable. The pregame analysis for Penn State v Oregon was it would be low scoring. Schemes change game to game based on matchups. Health changes week to week. It should be a good game and the winner has a real shot at winning the whole thing. Ohio State’s defense is good at all three levels. Oregon’s offense can attack all three levels. That part of the game will be very interesting to see how both sides scheme. The other interesting element will be Oregon’s defensive line against Ohio State’s offensive line. But no one knows what will happen in either of those matchups, so sit back and enjoy. It should be a treat.
The Ohio State/Oregon game is probably going to be the real national championship.... Tennessee came in looking completely unprepared for the team they got... Like the heaven watching way too much tape of the Michigan game. They also just don't have enough speed at most positions to compete with rosters like this.
The thing I don't like, is because the ranking aren't random - the lines aren't random. So the committee could have purposely ranked OSU to force them to be in Oregon's line - to make sure an SEC team got into the championship game. I think all would agree OSU and Ducks are the best 2 teams in the playoffs, and had they been in different lines - it would have been a Big 10 national championship game. (It would also explain the mysterious reason why Penn was ranked higher than OSU - when OSU beat Penn.)
Them having to play OSU again is a nightmare scenario. lol Law of averages is against them winning twice. I would be REALLY nervous if I was a Duck fan. They're by far the 2 scariest teams in the playoffs. The rest are so lucky it played out how it did.
Oregon’s first game next year is with Montana State. How cool would that be if both stay undefeated this year, win their championships and meet in August next year. No more warm up cream puff games in early season.
All I know is money buys championships. It'll pay for every one from here on out. Its like racing a Ferrari against a Corolla and thinking you have done something special by winning. My school is tiny compared to Bama, UGA, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas. I doubt very seriously any team but those five will ever win again unless something changes. There is seriously no point in even rooting for your team unless its one of those.
It seems like the disadvantage has grown, but the smaller school arguably have more of a chance now than they ever did before. Coming from a North Texas Mean Green fan.
There's other teams with significant resources. Miami, LSU, USC, Michigan, Notre Dame. The sports changes have made the sports biggest brands that much more powerful. It will take a few years for the richest teams to shake out but I think you will ultimately wind up with Miami, Texas and USC being dominant.
Tennessee was a strong SEC team, but they did not look like they belonged on the same field with Ohio State. These playoffs are biased to help an undeserving SEC, which screws the B1G, and especially Oregon.
As a Oregon I am a little nervous just because it is hard to beat the same team twice! However I will admit that we got screwed but I just know my Ducks are gonna go and prove everybody wrong again!
