My favorite thing about the Zipcaster is that its design, more than probably any other special in this series' history, will force the developers to stick it to quick and aggressive Frontline weapons otherwise it would be basically unusable.
Not necessarily, less aggressive weapons could use it to escape bad situations, or for heavyweight back lines, they could use it to move to a different perch to help objective or stay alive

The most underrated thing about this change is that it makes Solo Queue less aggravating. Carrying matches isn’t impossible nor improbable in Splat 2, but it’s very difficult to do so when you are relying mainly on your teammates to cut the slack. I’ve never played Splatoon 1, but Splatoon 3 giving more power to the individual is a good thing, since it’s very annoying to lose a match when you are the only one who did good.
Splat 1 had a variety of Specials, ranging from the Objective Securing/Entry denying Inkstrike and Killer Wail, the Team Oriented Echolocator and Bubbler, and the Inkzooka letting you be a One Inkling Army if you knew how to use it.
A lot of Splatoon 2 specials are for zoning, but in 3 so far it looks like most of them will be more like a super star from Mario, a big powerup for a short time
A concern of mine is that specials might become so strong that gunplay becomes less relevant. One of the biggest problems of Overwatch is that specials/ultimates can individually decide a teamfight, which means less time is actually spent fighting. I hope that there's still room for players who don't have their specials yet to make plays (such as killing an enemy team member who is about to use their own). As long as some effort is still required from the player's part to use these specials and that they aren't just "I win" buttons, I'd be happy with the way they're being implemented!

About the poll of three specials from 2 vs the Zipcaster, I feel like the result doesn't really show anything, in almost any situation people would choose something from the sequel yet to come out, just because how new and exciting it is. I wouldn't be surprised if in the actual game it turns out the Zipcaster is not as good as it looks and, for example, can be easily punished during the jump end lag like a Splashdown, so it would be fun to see the same poll after Splatoon 3 has already come out and people got used to the new specials
I mean potentially, at the same time I pitted 3 against 1, picked 3 good specials, and wanted to see zipcaster with at least 75% to use in the video, and it got over 80 The same can't really be said when transitioning from 1 -> 2 specials So yea its not 100% fair, but the results were still so drastically in favor of the new special
I agree. People are going to go with what’s new and shiny, especially when there are a lot of details missing and their minds are filling in the blanks. Zipcaster could be awesome. But I could just as easily imagine it being lame if it’s easy to counter. We just don’t know what kind of interplay there will be, how good the other specials might be in comparison, what options changes in main and sub weapons will bring, map geometry, etc. It certainly looks cool, but so did some of S2’s specials before we actually spent any time with them.
Something I’ve noticed about the bubble shield special. At the top, there is a small part of the device that is exposed. I wonder if that is breakable, and if enemies have the ability to shut that special down by shooting at it.
i dont think it will be because that makes it essentially useless against longrage weapons and it means that short rangeweapons cant deal with it, and the main goal of this special in my eyes is to keep you safe from longer ranged weapons
IMO it still feel better designed than armor regardless. It doesn't chain to your team and while any player can set up the bubbler the better player will place it in a much more effective position while the noob would place it anywhere. It also isn't instant activation. But a counterplay option would be a very welcome edge of complexity to the special.
@@sloshy2412 I thought about that, too. My first thought is that it was breakable. Perhaps it could be a sign that it can’t move from where you place it, even if you placed it on a moving surface, like the tower.
Selfish specials are definitely something I'm looking forward to. Inkjet with my L-3D is so much more fun then just *grabbing a throwing a raincloud.* The crab honestly looks to be really fun too, I mean it's literally a *crab tank*
Another thing I’d like to mention is the fact that the shooter that has the most emphasis on movement options FINALLY HAS SPECIALS WITH INCREASED MOVEMENT OPTIONS
All of the massively used specials that are high tier in Splatoon 2 is just support or zoning and it's really boring or can possibly just not work at all. The new ones are reminding me of Splat 1 again, because now I'm gonna become a huge threat on my own without relying on my team doing... oh they dead
While i enjoy having to watch your mates special and using yours accordingly, its true that we need more playmaking specials, though i hope you'll still have a huge benefit from chaining them. Great video Chara!
You mentioned this at the end of your trailer review and I’m glad you made a stand-alone video on it, I couldn’t agree more. Let’s hope the ranked modes align
I'm mostly indifferent to specials being selfish or not. I'm generally of the opinion that simple to use but difficult to master is the best way to go. On that front the zipcaster looks most promising, followed by crab, and then not sure how to feel about the shield just yet. That said, the thing I really like about these new specials is that they give us more turf independent movement options. One of the biggest issues right now in Splatoon 2 is that it's easy drown in a flood of ink (see emphasis on bomb rushes, even the best ink armor weapons essentially function as a pseudo-bomb rush in addition to survivability), and the optimal way to combat that is to try and drown the opponent right back to the point where they're stifled and unable to move. Basically, almost all the best specials in Splatoon 2 right now also put down tons of paint. The way the crab and the zipcaster let you move around the map unrestricted by turf output gives you important tools to help you break that cycle without necessarily resorting to the ink drowning method.
im thinking wail 5.1 will actually be great because of the auto lock. assuming because its automatic it can be dodged fairly easily, it requires the user or team to also push up. its honestly more similar to missles than ray since it locates someone and should be used in combination with pushing. although obviously this is just my tske on it, we really won't know until the game comes out lol
im really excited for the bubble too, because its limited to a small area its really reliant on the user to place it well, and you cant really escape with it since its in place. people can essentially be cornered inside if the opposing team counterplays it well! im super excited for all the specials in s3 they all look incredible, hopefully they live up to our expectations
this is SUCH a good point. after playing splatoon 1 comp and then transitioning to the lackluster splatoon 2 specials, i knew that would be a major point of contention if they didnt go back to their genius special design in splat 1.
Specials are looking great and all, but I'm also wondering how you feel about main weapon balancing. Considering Splat 1's top tier weapons were generally high skill, high reward (CRB, Cherry, zimi, etc.) It would be interesting how you would balance it, especially considering the current meta weapon is kgal, which isn't very demanding mechanics wise.
i feel like splatoon 3 has specials that will definitely get a lot out of coordination and special chaining but dont like, require that to be relevant in a higher level. one thing that always got me frustratred in splatoon 2 is how often i felt like if i wasnt being backed up by my whole team i was pretty much dead in the water lol
and also, i think we have to keep in mind that other modes like turf, league and ranked should hold up and be fun on their own instead of being building blocks for the only actually fun mode aka competitive
That's why I barely play soloq anymore lmao. I play slayer weapons, kpro, ttek and enperries specifically, so not having a decent supporting team is a death wish. Combined with my lack of patience, leads me to never play soloq anymore because of how exhausting it is to constantly lose, or sweat super hard and barely win
6:08 I mean, given the option between "would you like to try three things you've already tried" or "would you like to try something new" most people would choose the new thing
i agree with pretty much every point you made here. i'd like to add that even with splatoon 1's selfish specials, it was still a team game first and foremost. in splatoon, the teamwork happens anyway, there's no need to remove the sense of individuality from the game to encourage people to work together. in fact, nintendo could literally just implement a system that gives you more points based on good teamwork. but yeah! great video as usual!
watching this nowadays is saddening due to crab meta existing. and the, "nintendo wont mess this up" part at the end... yeesh, that hits too close to home
Man when I watched your reaction I was even more excited to see it. But I’m so so happy that sting ray has gone bye bye which is what I love the most because it’s one of the most annoying specials in the game which is what I’m waiting for to come out
Something I really like about the new specials is like you mentioned, there are many new specials where you can use them on your own with out needing to chain, but being here after Splatoon 3 released there is also Tacticooler where the people have to be in a certain area to even get the buff and how it's a support, similar to the big bubbler which I would also consider a support because you can super jump to it and unless the enemy is inside the bubble they can't insure you but only in a small space for a small amount of time. I agree that some of the new specials are more "selfish" but it also makes them easier to use if you don't have an actual team set up where you just match up with random people. The Splatoon 2 specials do always feel like you need another person to make it more likely that it will really do something.
Beautiful, I do think the poll was kinda biased cuz you pin 3 known specials to 1 people havent played yet so they dont really know how good it will feel and also are used to splatoon 2's BUT I still agree with your point and am so excited for SPLATOON 3 BABYYY
My only hope is that big bubbler is the only form of invulnerability. No ink armor or bubbler. Playing in ranked, if the opposing team has more ink armor, you’re gonna have a tough time. Especially if you’re playing a weapon that is not great against ink armor like blasters. Sometimes I just want to try different weapons in ranked without struggling against sets of ink armor.
In the first frame of the Crab Tank in the new trailer, the yellow team inkling that is being shot at is already being hit, then gets hit 3 more times. It looks like it's actually a 4 hit kill.
The specials seem great, but I'm really excited about what new abilities and weapon sets we'll get. Carbon with burst bomb and grapplehook/tri-zooka, I will be a carbon one-trick.
To be fair, with that poll probably a lot of people were biased because they just want to use the new specials. If inkstorm was a new special it would do at least partially better in the poll.
Funny Special idea/rework for the Bubble Shield: Buff Bubble + Grants doubled projectile speed/Bomb speed/shot speed to you and all teammates inside it (these don't affect range, just how fast shots fly) + Invulnerable, with one exception: - If an enemy player physically touches the Buff Bubble, it pops, deactivating early Other ideas, if you're interested: The Turn Tider + Infinite duration, build up another Special and use it to deactivate + Makes your Sub Weapon as good as a Main Weapon - ...Wait, why is your Main Weapon acting like a Sub Weapon? (Effects vary based on Weapon type in use) The Super Swim + Triples swim speed for 7 seconds + Does not lose any speed while in the air + Moves at regular swimming speed when not in your Ink/in enemy ink - Vulnerable during usage - Locked into Swimming Form for the duration
It's really nice to hear a comp player get as excited for these specials as turf scrubs like me. I really want to meet (ie: slap) the dev who thought inkstorm would be exciting to use.
Although I agree with your points, I don't think ranking a Splatoon 3 special against 3 Splatoon 2 specials is fair at all. Of course people are going to pick the brand new special that they've barely seen and just got revealed. People have been playing with Ink Storm, Booyah Bomb, and Bomb Rush for years; the entire internet is blowing up with hype for Splatoon 3, and that colors the results a TON. Also, I'm EXTREMELY concerned about Big Bubbler in Tower Control for... obvious reasons.
The bubbler is concerning for all modes, because imagine how op it would be to place a bubbler over a single splat zone, or the rainmaker, or a clam basket. Worse still, bubbler meme teams in League
I mean yea its an unfair poll, but even then the point was more how drastically zipcaster won by Also im 90% sure were not getting tower control or clam blitz in 3. So the special might be fine.
Hi chara I just wanted to say I now have an new account called galactic alt, so if I see those comments it’s me. Also I’m super excited for the new grappling hook special, as you might be able to shoot mid-air, making for some sick trick shots
I actually really like that grappler special it looks fun also hoping for inkjet to return also ngl i thought the crab was a sub weapon at the first reveal lol
All we need, good specials for individual plays, maybe we gonna go back to SP1 time when individual skill can do something(today can do,but it's much more harder),not like today if your team not help you gonna lose. And can't wait to see rollers kit's,hope this time they do great on them.
This is one of the biggest issues I've seen in Splatoon 2, no communications in public lobbies, but lots of game modes and specials depend on coordination.
The fact we already have 7 specials basically confirmed is crazy, though id love to see more info on the big bubbler and the tenta missiles. I wonder if they will add new features to the missiles and inkjet.
I also really want more special diversity, it doesn't feel like they're spread out enough in S2 There's four weapons that have access to Ultra Stamp, and another four with access to Booyah Bomb
five each - sploosh octo l3 tenta mini, 52 remix pro aero dyno (its the subs that only have 4 each) yes, im weird for remembering that off the top of my head
are you sure killer whale is not replacing tenta missiles? The description sounds very similar. They look different, yes... and while I like tenta missiles, the matching system in solo q is making me facing teams with an all tenta missiles comps, it is just impossible to have a fun game when you have to dodge missiles all the match. 20+ sets of missiles are annoying as hell.
the missiles have a different look and we know the special is based off wail/ray, so I don't think so. I do expect missiles to be tweaked though, especially since we saw a smaller amount in that screenshot then normal.
As a charger main, I really love the zipcaster design, but since I am a backliner, it makes me question how I could effectively use it (if there is a charger with it) as not only will I have to reposition, but I'll also need to charge up. I don't know how I'd feel about the bubbler though since it seems to block your own damage as well. But once the game comes out, it will be fun trying to experiment what works and doesn't work with the options provided.
it would be fun if the inkstrike were mixed with tenta missiles, the tenta missiles would shoot like 8 mini inkstrikes (i forgot how many shots tenta missiles has)
it kind of funny seeing how the most fun and popular or from what it looks like are the ones that seem the most natural aka kraken and zipcaster as kraken seems like the squid going into a more rageful/powerful form and maybe it just what adult inklings squid form look like while zipcaster looks like the stage where there both squid and kid but bigger that also makes you wonder which specials can be used outside of turf war
I'm a little worried about zip caster tho. I feel like there are only gonna be a few places where zipcaster will be really useful, so chargers and backliners will avoid those places. The fact that they're avoiding those places means zipcaster isn't useful anywhere. Maybe I'm just overthinking things, idk
The map design is also fit for the special. This museum has the walls to jump to, and I expect it will be like that in most maps. And backline weapons will have to choose between being highly exposed or being susceptible to be attacked by the zipcaster. So overall I think it will be fun and balanced.
I hope most of the specials are individual based, but some, or the rest either CAN be used when coordinated well, OR plays more of a support the team ish kind of deal. Like maybe a special makes your team faster for a short period of time, but makes getting ink slower during and a little bit after it's done
Yes kind of. Most single zones are really big so it wouldn't cover too much I think. It will depend on the map mostly. But it might be a problem on the double zones since those are smaller.
I think by making the specials in 2 more coordination/team focused it actually makes them more powerful in a way (ink armor vs. bubbler being one example) and determines match outcomes more so than it did in 1 so if the specials in 3 are closer to 1 I'm all for it.
The “best” specials in S2 themselves aren’t that strong and don’t have a big impact on matches. Their power comes from how spam-able they are and how they stack on each other in such a way that can be incredibly oppressive. Ink Armor and Tenta Missiles by themselves are merely a nuisance. But when the enemy team is armored and launching missiles at you for half of the game or more, it becomes very difficult to do much of anything except build your own specials and answer in kind. Specials like Baller and Inkjet are stronger IMO, but their aggregate utility across the time of a game is lower because they are less spam-able.
Only special I really want to return is ink storm. It’s my favorite special so far and has a pretty cool design for something you can just set and forget
The key is balance. The entire point of ults or specials is to be able to unbalance an engagement but there needs to be counterplay options and not spam. Splatoon 2's specials are spammy af and there's not much you can do if they know how to use Stingray etc
And I want to additionally commend you for your grind of steadily putting out content that engages our minds and how we think about the game's mechanics
I’m hoping they will still add some sort of controlable backline specials. With the new zipcaster, trizooka, bubble and the presumably armored mech backlines have a lot more to worry about. While the backlines have gotten killerwhale, compared to these other specials you probably can’t make as many big plays as the targeting is focussed on AI.
I hope they don't go and replace the majority of the specials again. There are lots of fun specials in 2 I'd like to play in 3. Tenta missiles returning means they might not replace them all like the splatoon 1 specials. Do you think more specials from the 1st game could return/ be remade.? They revived inkzooka and Killer Wail.
I have to disagree. I prefer being a support player and am not good at getting kills. Seeing specials that rely on my ability to kill with them mean that I will use them much less and will be dead weight to my team compared to simple specials. These specials feel geared toward pros & slayers. In splatoon 2 I much prefer ink armor or ink storm to ink jet or ultra stamp. At least I'll still have tenta missiles tho. Controlling space and being useful is more fun to me than dying while trying to get a team wipe.
Unironically i feel splashdown is one of the best specials (clear dapple dualies main) It can not only spread ink but I personally use it as a last ditch effort and a good booyah bomb disabler
Do you think it would be a good idea if Splatoon 3 maps have areas only accessible if you use the zipcaster? Nothing major, just a small platform or something, but this would allow the special to be useful on long range weapons like chargers or splatlings that take a moment to charge. Zipcaster doesn’t seem that useful on charge based weapons but if they had their own little area to get great angles from then maybe it could work
The Zipcaster seems to work like Inkjet where you jump back to the point where you activated it once time runs out. So it’s less about getting to places than hunting down opponents.
@@samuelstephens6904 Thats kinda my point really. When you try to hunt down someone with a charge based weapon, you have the end lag for travelling and then need to charge your weapon, so opponent will easily be able to notice and kill you before you can kill them. Letting charge based weapons have their own special platform area would allow them to get a better vantage point to snipe someone from for a limited amount of time before they're taken back to their activation point
@@murphy5353 We don't know if they will be any kits with both a ranged charge-based weapon and Zipcaster. If any do, it doesn't really make sense to have special areas of the map designed just for them. I think all areas of the map should be accessible to all players.
The thing I'm wondering is if the crab tank user is invulnerable while it's rolling around as they aren't even exposed if that's the case it might be a good panic button
My biggest concern is if the bubble shield will completely protect the tower in tc, or if opponents can even go inside the shield, just imagine being pushed off in overtime by the bubble shield and not getting able to get back on. Hopefully shooting it will reduce its duration

I wouldn't be surprised if in the actual game it turns out the Zipcaster is not as good as it looks and, for example, can be easily punished during the jump end lag like a Splashdown, so it would be fun to see the same poll after Splatoon 3 has already come out and people got used to the new specials
I mean potentially, at the same time I pitted 3 against 1, picked 3 good specials, and wanted to see zipcaster with at least 75% to use in the video, and it got over 80
The same can't really be said when transitioning from 1 -> 2 specials
So yea its not 100% fair, but the results were still so drastically in favor of the new special
@@ProChara One thing it did show for sure is that people REALLY like the concept of Zipcaster
@@cousinparty7266 truue
Maybe it's like splashdown, you have to cancel it before it's fully active.
@@sloshy2412 I thought about that, too. My first thought is that it was breakable. Perhaps it could be a sign that it can’t move from where you place it, even if you placed it on a moving surface, like the tower.
More fun, more independent, MORE CHAOTIC???
THATS THE MAGIC OF SPLATOON 1
YES
2:16 missiles are one of the best designed specials in Splatoons history
Aged like milk
Selfish specials are definitely something I'm looking forward to. Inkjet with my L-3D is so much more fun then just *grabbing a throwing a raincloud.* The crab honestly looks to be really fun too, I mean it's literally a *crab tank*
i really hope inkjet stays lol
I dont think that poll is valid, we all havent used the zipcaster, so of course we're gonna want to play that one the most
I'm mostly indifferent to specials being selfish or not.
I like that they have a spawn box thing (don’t remember the name) in the air so there won’t be spawn camping
i feel like splatoon 3 has specials that will definitely get a lot out of coordination and special chaining but dont like, require that to be relevant in a higher level. one thing that always got me frustratred in splatoon 2 is how often i felt like if i wasnt being backed up by my whole team i was pretty much dead in the water lol
and also, i think we have to keep in mind that other modes like turf, league and ranked should hold up and be fun on their own instead of being building blocks for the only actually fun mode aka competitive
But I’m so so happy that sting ray has gone bye bye which is what I love the most because it’s one of the most annoying specials in the game which is what I’m waiting for to come out
The speed in which you release new quality content 😱
2:17 ANTI CHARA 😱
Well that didn’t age very well
Tacticooler,Booyah bomb inkstorm
I mean the majority of Splat 3 specials are still selfish. Tri Zooka, Reefslider, Zipcaster doesn’t rely on other teammates
I can't wait to clutch a game in a robotic crab
Beautiful,
I do think the poll was kinda biased cuz you pin 3 known specials to 1 people havent played yet so they dont really know how good it will feel and also are used to splatoon 2's
BUT I still agree with your point and am so excited for SPLATOON 3 BABYYY
I'm back (deku), keep going my man. 10k was a milestone and a half so keep it up. Can't wait for 20k! Great content
I love the zipcaster because it’s how splashdown should of been like
In the first frame of the Crab Tank in the new trailer, the yellow team inkling that is being shot at is already being hit, then gets hit 3 more times. It looks like it's actually a 4 hit kill.
The specials seem great, but I'm really excited about what new abilities and weapon sets we'll get. Carbon with burst bomb and grapplehook/tri-zooka, I will be a carbon one-trick.
I’m a charger main but I will switch playstyles SO FAST if that becomes an actual set
Tbh these specials are so powerful looking that they actually feel special
To be fair, with that poll probably a lot of people were biased because they just want to use the new specials. If inkstorm was a new special it would do at least partially better in the poll.
List of Splat 3 Specials (that we know of (so far))
•Crab Tank
•Trizooka
•Big Bubbler
•Killer Wail 5.1
•Ink Grapple
•Tenta Missles
Funny Special idea/rework for the Bubble Shield:
Buff Bubble
+ Grants doubled projectile speed/Bomb speed/shot speed to you and all teammates inside it (these don't affect range, just how fast shots fly)
+ Invulnerable, with one exception:
- If an enemy player physically touches the Buff Bubble, it pops, deactivating early
Other ideas, if you're interested:
The Turn Tider
+ Infinite duration, build up another Special and use it to deactivate
+ Makes your Sub Weapon as good as a Main Weapon
- ...Wait, why is your Main Weapon acting like a Sub Weapon? (Effects vary based on Weapon type in use)
The Super Swim
+ Triples swim speed for 7 seconds
+ Does not lose any speed while in the air
+ Moves at regular swimming speed when not in your Ink/in enemy ink
- Vulnerable during usage
- Locked into Swimming Form for the duration
@@this_username_is_taken7004 OH JESUS CHRIST MEME TEAMS *NO*
I mean yea its an unfair poll, but even then the point was more how drastically zipcaster won by
Also im 90% sure were not getting tower control or clam blitz in 3. So the special might be fine.
Great analysis! Can’t wait to try them in game myself!
Hi chara I just wanted to say I now have an new account called galactic alt, so if I see those comments it’s me.
Also I’m super excited for the new grappling hook special, as you might be able to shoot mid-air, making for some sick trick shots
I am glad the the supportive specials still exist, but most supportive specials still give you by yourself a lot of tools for yourself
I actually really like that grappler special it looks fun also hoping for inkjet to return also ngl i thought the crab was a sub weapon at the first reveal lol
they look so fun to play as !! it wont be boring like splat2n special so im really looking forward dto it
All we need, good specials for individual plays, maybe we gonna go back to SP1 time when individual skill can do something(today can do,but it's much more harder),not like today if your team not help you gonna lose.
And can't wait to see rollers kit's,hope this time they do great on them.
This is one of the biggest issues I've seen in Splatoon 2, no communications in public lobbies, but lots of game modes and specials depend on coordination.
Love the vids I’m excited for splatoon 3
Someone out there is gonna rip a model of the crab tank only to make it rave. I just know it.
The fact we already have 7 specials basically confirmed is crazy, though id love to see more info on the big bubbler and the tenta missiles. I wonder if they will add new features to the missiles and inkjet.
I hope one of the Sploosh variants gets Zipcaster, it would allow to hit far away opponents with the actual main weapon for once.
Looking at the new killer wail i think its just gonna be used as a "force people to move special"
I also really want more special diversity, it doesn't feel like they're spread out enough in S2
There's four weapons that have access to Ultra Stamp, and another four with access to Booyah Bomb
that's what i dislike about them, because they're both specials I'd use more, but not many of my mains have them
five each - sploosh octo l3 tenta mini, 52 remix pro aero dyno (its the subs that only have 4 each)
yes, im weird for remembering that off the top of my head
are you sure killer whale is not replacing tenta missiles?
But once the game comes out, it will be fun trying to experiment what works and doesn't work with the options provided.
prolly just use it as an escape tool or reposition to snipe people who wouldn't expect it
it would be fun if the inkstrike were mixed with tenta missiles, the tenta missiles would shoot like 8 mini inkstrikes (i forgot how many shots tenta missiles has)
it kind of funny seeing how the most fun and popular or from what it looks like are the ones that seem the most natural aka kraken and zipcaster as kraken seems like the squid going into a more rageful/powerful form and maybe it just what adult inklings squid form look like while zipcaster looks like the stage where there both squid and kid but bigger that also makes you wonder which specials can be used outside of turf war
If it's coordinated with Missiles or that new Killer Wail, I think it could theoretically be very strong.
The map design is also fit for the special. This museum has the walls to jump to, and I expect it will be like that in most maps. And backline weapons will have to choose between being highly exposed or being susceptible to be attacked by the zipcaster. So overall I think it will be fun and balanced.
I think itl depend on if you can use it on floors or just walls
I really hope there's some version of ultra stamp in splat 3
I hope most of the specials are individual based, but some, or the rest either CAN be used when coordinated well, OR plays more of a support the team ish kind of deal. Like maybe a special makes your team faster for a short period of time, but makes getting ink slower during and a little bit after it's done
If the force field doesn’t let enemy ink in wouldn’t that be op in zones
Yes kind of. Most single zones are really big so it wouldn't cover too much I think. It will depend on the map mostly. But it might be a problem on the double zones since those are smaller.
I think they’re figuring the specials out now!
Splatoon 3 special breakdown: CRAB MOBILE, Invincibility ball, and SPIDER SQUID
I can't wait to be spider squid
Only special I really want to return is ink storm. It’s my favorite special so far and has a pretty cool design for something you can just set and forget
I can't wait to play as the spiderman special in Splatoon 3
Definitely hype for the crab
Seems pretty fun
As a tri slosher main, I'm hoping that we get a grappling hook kit, because that sounds really fun
Time to pick a special to just train with endlessly
I hope they don't go and replace the majority of the specials again. There are lots of fun specials in 2 I'd like to play in 3. Tenta missiles returning means they might not replace them all like the splatoon 1 specials.
Do you think more specials from the 1st game could return/ be remade.? They revived inkzooka and Killer Wail.
Eh not really, id say a revamped bomb launcher/rush is all I can think of
Me: distracted by the nostalgic Mario galaxy music in the background
I have to disagree. I prefer being a support player and am not good at getting kills. Seeing specials that rely on my ability to kill with them mean that I will use them much less and will be dead weight to my team compared to simple specials. These specials feel geared toward pros & slayers. In splatoon 2 I much prefer ink armor or ink storm to ink jet or ultra stamp. At least I'll still have tenta missiles tho. Controlling space and being useful is more fun to me than dying while trying to get a team wipe.
I mean thats fair, im personally neutral, I think there still will be simple specials, just that 2 has far too many of them.
Shooting the crab tank and the tri zooka from inside the big bubbler
*Time For Crab*
I feel like combining both coordinated team based specials with individual specials could be cool
I think all areas of the map should be accessible to all players.
i hope the killer wail will let you choose what enemies to lock onto like tenta missiles
The killer wail is easily my favorite.
I really want inkstrike back, although they would have to alter it slightly because there isn't a gamepad.
As someone who hasnt played splatoon 1 im excited for splatoon 3 so i can use selfish specials and splatoon 1 stages loke flounder heights
i wish for a bucket with zipcaster, tri or normal slosher idc, just gimme
Welp, if Splatoon 3 has shellfish specials, can we RELEASE THE KRAKEN, from splatoon 1.
The thing I'm wondering is if the crab tank user is invulnerable while it's rolling around as they aren't even exposed if that's the case it might be a good panic button
I'm guessing it will have a shield HP on the tank to balance it.
THE TACO BELL DING LMAO
Can’t wait for splat roller to be competitively viable again
Anyone else hope The Booyah Bomb comes back?
My biggest concern is if the bubble shield will completely protect the tower in tc, or if opponents can even go inside the shield, just imagine being pushed off in overtime by the bubble shield and not getting able to get back on. Hopefully shooting it will reduce its duration
The device tbh looks too big to fit on tower so...
Not _on_ the tower necessarily, but cover it in general
