Starr is an exciting skater: vibrant, daring, and uses a variety of music. POSSIBLY her main issue is the consistency of her jumps. When she conquers that, there will be no stopping her.
So I have been watching figure skating for years - All levels - Even Medalists fall. Even the current world champ has taken a fall during a comp. Starr won silver at Skate Canada last year. I made a fan reply video. It's early in the season, very few high level skaters have perfected there performances yet. I like to watch Starr because of her persentation skills and connection with the music. Certain health issues have meant surrgery and not jumping the Lutz. But for me, skating is so much more than just landing jumps. I like different skaters for different reasons. I feel with time this performance will get better. I did perfer the SP music, but I am sure if Starr isn't feeling it, it can be changed - Like what happened with Luna from Belguim. If clean skates were easy to come by, there would be no variety, or comps even. Like I said, even the 'best' can have a untidy performance. If you look at sport as whole, it's easier to see a skater's strengths and enjoy what they bring to the ice. I always enjoy watching Starr myself, for the reasons stated above. I wish her the best for rest of the season. Also some skaters keep going year after year and are less than two points off a medal. It is 100% a sport that some skaters just love to take part in with their own goals in mind.
Right so I usually like her skating, but I really do not like the music choice. To me, skating is supposed to lift you up and this....this is completely uninspriring.
The music is amazing. I think Starr needs to tap into THAT. Look at what Jason Brown is doing. He is literally redefining men's figure skating on his own terms. People are TRAVELING to see HIM. If you give your skating that impact, if you can create a mood, you've done your job. Yes, we all want to win. But if you can't do that, at least leave behind a few performances that will last. You don't need triples to create lasting works of art. This music, in the right hands, is SOOOOO powerful. Unfortunately, here, Starr's skating feels slow, lethargic and uninspired. Her skating tends to feel slightly sluggish, anyway. I think the source of it is in the crossovers. Take Michelle Kwan for example. When she moved across the ice, she cared about how her body looked and her posture. She rarely looked labored. Also, Michelle bought into her music. She became the character. With Starr, we need more by in. The acting needs to be better. This music is not for the shy. She really needs to emote more, get into character, and create magical moments in this piece. I think she just needs to re-think her approach. The jumps will return for nationals, that's not an issue - but if she works on the finish, this program could be a stunning program, with an easy, guaranteed standing ovation if she skates clean.
The girl has no artistry but she's a powerful jumper by the looks of it. She should start the ultra C revolution in US figure skating since Alysa Liu retired at a 16 which very old (cough).
I definitely think Starr is capable of skating this program well- I think she needs to rework the jump technique. What she has been doing hasn’t seemed to work for her well. Flips aren’t consistent, lots of unders, I don’t know if she is practicing a triple lutz.
For who? Have you seen what we have in the USA? It is not all 12-year-olds jumping dangerously and ending up with injuries that will affect them for life. It is about growing the sport which she has done over the years
@@fatifeodoskating the only injuries that those girls you pertain to have are neck injuries from the weight of their medals won. Starr has no artistry but a powerful jumper. If she does this dangerous jumps, I'm pretty sure she'll be a legit medal contender. US is so far behind Russia and Japan when we used to dominate ladies singles.
@@unstoppablegirl8 she is always falls and it’s not that she is not good :she does not have appropriate competitive skating skills -you are probably amateur yourself in skating ,and I am not up there to talk about me

Bless her heart.

If she cleans up those jumps, I think the program will be fine.
I don’t understand why the layout of her pgrm has all the jumps stuck in the corners. Her music does nothing for her.

Not very inspiring. Her short program is 🔥🔥🔥 and she attacked it. I think she hates this one.
her short program music is a a tragic mess
Music is a snooze. Good grief. The poor judges and audience have to sit through this.
You know with that comment your gonna get a lot of slack, right ? You have every damn right to say what you honestly feel.
I stopped halfway. The music is dreadful.
She looks very robotic.
Why do they make her skate to "being good isn't good enough"? Not exactly encouraging is it? She seems to doubt herself from the word go

@@EE-eh4lt she did have a major surgery not too long ago

WTF is wrong with you. Even if you don’t win you can love what you do and she is still better than you so keep your damn mouth shut
Not sure why they keep sending her 🙈:she is under qualified, good enough for shows maybe
just because she fell doesnt mean she isnt good- also ur making the song name be true, which it is pretty uninspiring
like can u do that?
