When I first bought my travel trailer, it came with many "special offers" of which Thousand Trails was one of them. Just looking at the brochure with a zillion RVs in a park kept me away from them. Later, on my own, I found that KOAs are the same way. I bought my RV to get away from the crowds.
We are 1000 trails folks and we enjoy them. We spend a lot of our time in Washington and Oregon. They keep most of them safe and clean. love it in the fall and winter.
cool looking place...........Diesel pushers have the power, it's the maneuverability that's the sticker. But if they have a store, with food, it's likely to come on a truck. So chances are they took all the low branches off on there way up and coming down. thanks Russ, nice drive.
One of my favorite TT parks. I can stay 2 weeks in with one week out then back in for nothing but a small yearly fee at any TT park nation wide. Been to a bunch of them. Trek the earth!
I’m here in the middle of May. The sites are awful, in my opinion. Most are rutted, uneven and hard to get into and I’m in a 20 ft class B. Roads are narrow and turns are tight. Yes, you’re in the mountains. The air is fresh and it’s cooler than the valley. But they do cram you in here and right now I’m listening to someone’s music, along with lots of yelling etc...Kind of a nightmare actually. I’m a TT member and can’t think of any of their parks that I really like. If you take a close look at this park, you’ll notice that the last thing they do is put money into it. Old electrical posts and many of them are not working with signs saying campsite closed. Bathrooms and showers are antiquated. They’re a fairly large corporation called Equity Lifestyle. I’m sure their shareholders are happy.
this is my favorite California Zone Thousand Trails. you must of missed some of the sites that weren't so close to each other and would fit 40' Fifth Wheels/with duel cab long bed truck. i was there in early March 2016, still snow on the ground. many great hiking to be done here. and goooooooooooood free WiFi in that upper lounge area in the lodge, many hours there.
No way we'll be dragging our 42-foot 5th wheel up the hill to park in a tight spot with no sewer! Even though we're Elite Connection member of Thousand Trails!
thanks for your reply. Im just wary on mountain camping, just like the one in Thousand Trails Rancho Oso Santa Barbra, so narraw only a bike could pass lol, never again going there.
What a nice looking RV park. I would be "living" at the pool. Great video Russ.
nice video of the camp..keeping the camp in mind...thanks

What a cool place! A pool AND horses. I'd be in heaven.
Love it! Used to go there a lot.

Very Fun Review Thanks!
Nice looking old Fashioned styled RV park ...I grew up on the East Coast where you'd see most RV parks looking just like this Idyllwild one does.
