Awesome to see this!! I'm actually drilling a few balls this weekend, because of going hybrid after experimenting outside of league and tournaments for a year. Good luck on your journey!
I'm a Hybrid bowler 300 & 800 with 1 hand and 2 hands. I bowled with Mark in the 2012 Masters in VEGAS. HE told me I throw a good ball and to repeat it!!! That helped a lot
That is ironic what Mark said at the beginning, I find it easier throwing two handed on the fresh as it helps get through the oil, and for the dry I throw one handed as it’s easier to control the target I’m throwing at.
I tried the two handed game back in '91. Didn't care for it then. Today, I'm kinda rethinking it as I recently threw one game two handed and rolled a 240 game. Book avg of 2-teen, one handed.
Thanks for sharing the lesson. There was a lot of info/instruction in such a short video. BTW...what does "hybrid" bowler mean? Is that someone that will bowl 1 handed or 2 handed based on lane play? Are you seeing that bowlers are beginning to take this approach?
Correct. I will go a little more in depth in part 2, but basically depending what the lanes are giving me I will bowl either 1 or 2 hands and have a couple balls just dedicated for 2 hands.
@@TajirisBallReviews I threw thumb in or thumb out in the 1990s. Problem now is you have to have balls dedicated to each style because of the finger hole rules. After more than 20 years off, I bowled thumb in for a year and then went all thumb out at the beginning of this year. My average in a sport shot sweeper league is 16 pins higher with thumb out this year than thumb in last year.
I started hybrid bowling at the end of this last league season because of wrist issues. Have committed to summer league two handed and tournaments one handed. Not sure where I will ultimately settle.
Ok, I’m confused. Years ago at Kegel, I was told my coming over the top was likely due to early timing. Meaning the ball was forward of the box described by my trail knee & slide foot when my slide foot stopped. What I’m perceiving Mark as saying early timing is when your body gets to the foul line too much ahead of the ball. Did I misunderstand that ? Thank you
That's probably why your average is 120 Kidding, but we could all take some of the legend Mark Baker's tips and see improvement in our game. Just because you do it one way, doesn't mean it's the only way.
Haha. I mean it’s all relevant to each individual. No one is really built the same. That just means you got swing to match up with your footwork nothing wrong with not having push away. It was just for me since i was totally new to two handed. Not having push away didn’t match up with my timing of my footwork. It’s all about getting your timing in sync.
If you had listened to anything I said in the video. You would know I was hurting bowling one handed which is why I’m learning two handed. This was my idea to get coached two handed not Marks. He isn’t doing this to just make money. Like I said before he’s been coaching me for over 12 years now…
Great video. I made the switch years ago due to an arm injury. Now 100% 2 handed with one of your friends drilling my equipment.

I’m doing the same!

I was at that Masters as well. 😁
Very cool. It takes a bit of bravery to put your lesson out there to the public
Thanks so much for this video. This is actually something I've been considering. I'm already a no thumb bowler, so im about 2 steps away from 2-handed
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel

You may have convinced me to try bowling two-handed

To answer your last question. I’m trying to start that next revolution of bowling 😊
@@TajirisBallReviews So interesting! I'll be watching to see how that goes. I could never pull that off...haha! Thanks for responding.

sounds similar to what I'm doing right now until I get down this 2 handed thing lol

How many times does he say “got it!”😂🤔🇺🇸😇
I don't use push away or back swing. It's all momentum

I don't Push away and I don't come around the ball and I come all the way up!!! I basically break all these rules and it all work lol ha ha

i dont think ej practiced lol it just came nature, well i I know he had to fix his spine tilt not too long ago
Don't encourage that, I guess the guy will do anything to make money

Man that’s a cheap shot. Baker is a good man. He needs to eat just like everyone else, so of course he needs to get paid
Encourage what? All solid tips here.
