As usual, Mercedes doesn’t turn their power units down as much as others. When the other teams dial things up a bit more in Q3 and go full power in qualifying, Mercedes falls down the order.
Merc is good in the cool weather and have been super fast in a straight line. It makes sense they are fast here. It really just comes down to how much the other teams are holding back with engine mode.

I want to see that 1-2 we were robbed of in Spa. George deserves a win on pure pace after being forced to retire and getting DSQ the two weekend Mercedes genuinely had a race winning car. Dang where’d you find that. Last I checked the cheapest ticket I saw was $580 and only included the Friday free practices. I wish my family hadn’t sold our condo at Turnberry place. Not that it’s close enough to actually watch the race but one of the balconies faced the sphere/wynn so definitely could’ve listened while watching it on TV.
I can't belive that after a year and with a three week winter break since Brazil. Perrelli have no run cold tires, special for Las Vagas. That would have been a great reason for the winter break. Still doesn't excuse the autumn break though.🤣🤣

I take practice sessions with the biggest grain of salt!! 90% of practices Max is beyond 10th position and, in qualifying he’s in the top three. I’ve even almost stopped watching practice because it’s just completely different than anything else.

I'm in Ontario, Canada. Quali starts at 1:55 a.m. Saturday morning, The race starts at 12:55 a.m., Sunday morning. So I have to stay up late, which is much better than getting up early. N.B. These are the times when the events start, not when the pre-quali or pre-race shows begin.
As much as I hope that Merc are the fastest, I remain sceptical as it’s only practice and there’s no way to judge how much fuel each car had. Nor, if the cars were testing race/quali setups. For example, Lewis could’ve been prioritising quali, and George was focusing on the race. Or they were doing the same thing and other teams had more fuel etc.
We've seen many times that other teams don't turn up the engine until Q3 or even qualifying. And Merc looking fast on Friday, but not being there one saturday. I'll be pleasently surprised if it's different. But i feel that Saturday will have Ferrari at the front...

Back in the 80s (IIRC - it was a long time ago) on children's TV, they had a girl of about 8-10 read out an announcement of what was going to be on TV later that day. She obviously knew nothing about the sport because she said (in a typical English accent) "grand pricks" 😂😂😂. It made it onto a few out-take shows, which is where I saw it. I felt sorry for her but it was still hilarious!
Cant want for Mercedes double DSQ because of plank wear... The last couple races the Mercedes was dragging the bottom of the car constantly over the ground, and didn't have any plank wear. Now we now why. They cheated with a metal skid plate protector. Same with ferrari.
I do not recall another year where demonstrable "cheating" has been seen, "proven", disputed or claimed as we have seen this year. I get the impression there is a prevailing regression in attitudes and "toys are being thrown out the cot", whereas in the past, people just tucked their heads down and countered unless there was something blatant to raise. I had a book on the 2000 season and Michael Schumacher was a little off the pace in early practice. He new the time to put in speed and time was Qualifying and the race. As the team are working on setup and hendeling and looking at numbers like tire wear and stuff. So speed is not that important in Practice. You need pace to show youre there but not to much.
The tagline for every F1 game should be "it's all fun and games til you go into ranked and get sent to the fucking shadow realm by the first fucker you overtake"
