MEET THE TOP INNOVATIONS THAT DID THE LEGACY OF NINTENDO 64! The Nintendo 64 had some "innovations" that were not original. The Atari Jaguar was supposed to be the first 64-bit console (but it had several processors that added up to 64), the Vectrex was the first with an analog stick (Analog Stick) and the Bally Astrocade was the first with four control inputs. But the 64 was the first popular system with these innovations. In control Analog Lever - The Nintendo 64 was the first system to use an analogue lever in its control. The analog lever is superior to a digital directional pad (the one in the shape of a cross, but even so it was not discarded in the control of the Nintendo 64) because with it you can apply a different intensity to the movement (pushing it just a little or until the end, depending on the type of movement you want the game to understand, as in Super Mario 64: tilting the lever slightly, Mario walks, and when he tilts at the maximum, Mario runs), and also because it is not limited to only eight directions that the digital directional is capable of pointing. Nowadays all home video game controls use this technology (the PlayStation and Sega Saturn had to launch lever controls later), which was introduced to the world in that
joystick. Trigger Z - The Z button, which is located on the central rear of the control and is pressed with the index finger, is used as a trigger. For first person shooter games (like GoldenEye 007) this button gives the impression of being a firearm trigger, providing a more realistic feel. Nowadays most video game controls have a similar function. Rumble Pak - This accessory, as described above, vibrates according to the events shown on the game screen, giving a sense of interactivity with what is being seen. This is another function widely used in current games (the second PlayStation controller, DualShock, already had the function) and started on Nintendo 64. In games Super Mario 64 - Super Mario 64 redefined 3D action / platform games, having a direct influence on the way these games are played today. All this is due to the analog control lever, already mentioned here, and the innovative phase design, directed by Shigeru Miyamoto. "Z-Targeting" in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Automatic targeting system that consists of locking the target on an enemy or object in the scenario, pressing a button (in this case, the Z Button, hence the name " Z-Targeting ") as soon as the target is temporarily in the location / enemy / character with which you want to interact / attack. Still widely used today in action and adventure games in three dimensions. MEET THE BEST 50 CONSOLE 64 GAME ON WISEGAMER: wisegamer.net/melhores-jogos-de-nintendo-64-historia/
Nintendo 64, a machine really good at detailed textures with a storage medium that didn't have much space for detailed textures! Nintendo and Rare obviously new how to play to it's strengths (cartridges being cheaper for them obviously helped) but what's really surprising is how good those games which used a combination of sprites and polygons look even now (Doom, Harvest Moon, Mario kart etc). Chonky cutesy stuff looks good, more "realistic" style graphics tend to look really bad (even compared to PS1).

weaker? it was stronger in most aspects, by a margin (4-8 MB RAM vs 2.x MB, 94 Mhz vs. 34 MHz CPU, 1 million polygons vs 128k polygons per second GPU), which resulted in larger open world games and less/quicker loading. The PS1 made up for it by having much better textures and sound due to CD rom.

Nintendo really needs to make the N 64 Classic with 30 Games on i would pay 100 Euro s for that. Release Year would be 2025.
