Used that 1.6 in the 12-17 Accent/Rio, those are good little cars, too
I'd take an automatic version of any of those, Soul included, since they have a manual shift mode, much eaiser in LA traffic to drive.
Mom has a 2016 Elantra, has been a good car.

Interesting! Where I live Hyundai and Kia cars are very popular and relatively reliable. In fact, I never hear of those big problems that they apparently have. But in the states people give them a bad reputation (especially because of those GDI engines), and I wonder if it has to do with the fact that the majority of them are manufactured in Alabama and Georgia...

Here in the states the only ones that don't last a long time are owned by people who just don't maintain them. And unfortunately thats quite a bit of people. They last a really long time if you keep up with them. The fact that they're manufactured in GA/AL doesn't seem to make a difference that I've noticed.

@@burntcoolantproductions8607 Oh! I said that because... well, it's known that Hyundai and Kia have a history of bad reputation in US for engines catching fire, being replaced because they are blown at low mileage, bad crankshaft, pistons, etc.
But what is interesting to me is that I'm from Puerto Rico (which is part of US) and none of the recalls and class action lawsuits related cover Puerto Rico, plus those problems are not common here at all. Also, I have read articles mentioning those plants and heard mechanics saying that the problems are derived from poor assambling process. So that's why I guess it maybe has something to do.
