I agree, but wife doesn't like taking the Rivian on road trips. We take enough road trips for her to consider a replacement for her Model X. But as of now, no replacement. Keeping the Model Y and Rivian.
The first buyback, the service manager said I didn't have to. This one, I don't know yet since Abby hasn't contacted them to accept to offer yet and let them know about the PPF. Good luck on surrender day. It's probably Rhuel that will help you sign paperwork. He was the one on our first buyback and he's been Cc'd on our emails with Titus. Please let me know how it goes.
Should get a lemon law lawyer! It takes about six months total. I got all my money back minus window tint and mileage. Love my new model x. So far perfect. Hopefully I’ll have better luck this time. I truly love this ride
I'm going through a buyback right now. They actually agreed to it back when the car only had a few hundred miles and I decided not to do it. A year later, I decided to pursue it again. I'm waiting for an estimate. If they charge me more than the less than 1000 miles at the time of the first buy back agreement, then I may just hold on to it. My issues are relatively minor, but they just can't seem to fix them.
As an R1T owner, do I want a yoke? If there is SBW and short-throw steer ratios, YES! I'll take it. I'm having so much trouble with the driver display being blocked by the steering wheel on the Rivian, I don't know whether it's because the wheel is bigger or the display is smaller or something else. But I certainly don't wait with the existing hand over hand ratio :)
I have this issue with the Model X and regular steering wheel. The lower left of the screen is blocked. I don't recall having this issue with our previous Model X and yoke steering wheel. However, no issue in the R1T with the screen being blocked. Yokes are great in the highway when not much turning is involved but with street driving, it does take a little bit more effort with turns, specially u-turns.
Sorry to hear about your troubles with your Model x Plaid. I am awaiting delivery on a new 2025 Model X Plaid and now I am having second thoughts. Do you think the platform is flawed or just bad luck??
I don't think it's flawed since not everyone is having issues like us. I do think it's "over-engineered". I guess it's to justify cost? Smallest issue you have, take it to service so it can be recorded. Worse case, you go through a buyback. It will cost you time though. Congrats. They are fun to drive and comfy. Beyond that... I don't know what else to say about it.
I bought a R1T instead of Cybertruck. But dont get me wrong, I love Tesla. I love how clean and nice the model S, model X and new model 3 look. But Cybertruck...man, i just cant

@@sherwinm this is still really fascinating to me. I've had the exact same errors with my car, including one time losing regen braking while trying to park. Tesla hasn't done anything about it, they stated it was a software issue where it would detect a power fault and put it into a safety mode and show the errors. They told me it was fixed by the software update, but I have seen it twice since then. Still it doesn't bother me too much though, because except for the time when it lost regen braking, it hasn't been noticeable while driving, and restarting the car always cleared the current error. It seems different service locations are handling these situations differently.
@@JohnEFly It could be the service location. When they inspected the steering rack of the Plaid, they did find corrosion. Between the time the alerts popped up, to the replacing of the rack, the issue did not happen again. It was about a week before we got it in service.

The problem with Lucid is the same with Rivian before. The closest dealership/service center is 1.5 hours away. Also, to spec it the way I want it would be around $120k. At that price, I would rather get the R1S tri-motor even though Abby doesn't like road trips with it. I'm concerned about the software. I hardly hear any updates happening on it. They update it but not as often as Tesla and Rivian. It's also the first version. Not sure how well they are built and what kind of support Lucid will have. Model X has had 3 "generations" and they still can't get it right. It is on our short list but they have to have a closer location.
From my experience, it takes about an extra 10 minutes or so more than Tesla - longer at home though... much longer. But I just charge at night. It is a larger battery. However, it has a slightly better charge curve. Since Tesla allowed Rivian access to superchargers, charging has improved.
Yes, I think it's fair. We did use the car. It's just in the first buyback we got all our money back. Maybe they are getting more buybacks and realize how much money they are losing?
