I love your show! It makes me think about lots of things and a different way to succeed in doing the things I want to do, organizationally speaking. Thank you!
Thank you, Gayle and Ed. I like thrift stores for ceramic and glass plates, bowls, etc, and metal serving utensils and flatware. Much better than plastic from the dollar store.
This week I finally moved my CD music player and my music collection of cd's to a laundry basket. If I have not found someone who wants these by the last day of the month, then they will go to donations. Just moving things out of their normal place, into a basket is the very first big step for me...but it works.. Seeing the things that have to leave, in a laundry basket, where I can still see the things everyday , until the end of the month, helps me to say goodbye, gradually for a month. Each month will be one collection, I will give away, by the end of that month. For March , my big "giveaway" will be luggage, shoes, and purses I no longer use. . p.s. a laundry basket, not a brown moving box, works better for me, since I can move the basket around easier for the month.
Clutter Blindness. I think I became "blind", to some clutter. The only thing that has helped , is by taking photos of all rooms and closets. How odd, that I "overlook" clutter when it is right in front of me. But when I look at a photo of the exact same clutter, that photo is a real eye opener (a pun).
@@CM-wh8hn others have talked about the distancing effect of looking at a photo to get past clutter blindness IRL. I find that fascinating, but I can see how it works. Thanks for the reminder
I'm not opposed to thrift store shopping -> just not interested. It seems too chaotic to me, I guess .. plus, I only purchase to make my life more convenient & comfortable, but in an esthetically pleasing way = I usually shop for 'solutions' if I don't currently have something that will work. .. And I'm drawn to multi-purpose solutions to save on space😊
I loved Goodbye Things. I’m going to listen to it again to be ready for the discussion
White vinegar helps with breaking down odours in clothing.

@@CM-wh8hn I like that 2 step process you’ve devised, she’s it sounds like it works well for you. Thanks for sharing it!
Those clothes that aren't clean but not dirty? Like sweaters and jeans you re-wear but don't want to put back in the drawer? Any suggestions?
Coat rack, chair or assigned spot to hold over for next use.
Oh, next weeks topic is exactly for me. Sadly, my husband left me on January 24th for good. I am very curious what you'll make me learn.
