Man one word.. engcon.. I highly recommend it. I have worked with engcon over 5 years, in machines of 5-25 tons (kg) and I could not imagine working without it. if you get a chance to try it, I guarantee you will fall in love with it right away. greetings from a Finnish excavator driver. definitely make more these kind of videos👍👍
Have you ever looked into using a Rototilt/Encon on your digger. Here in Sweden everyone who has a digger over 2.5t uses one, if you are used to it you get so fast that a normal digger is uncompetitive... It makes every scoop to a tilt, rotational thingy and fast coupler, which helps extremely for most stuff because you dont need to reposition or change scoop. Idk if it gets too expensive with shipping to the US, but i really think you should look into it! Then we have a bucket that combines the function of a normal one, a pointy tip and a wide bucket...That bucket and a Rototilt and you'll never leave your digger again to correct something! Ps: i really appreciate your uploads like this one!
@@R1D387 We use them for every digger over 2.5t, because it would be too heavy on minis...But Encon's are rock solid...i have seen them used for tearing down houses, pneumatic hammers and everything else. (edit i wont recommend it for hammers and gravel pits though as they arent immortal) I have actually never seen one brake, not even a real Rototilt!
You guys ever been looking at getting rotortilts like engcon, steelwrist or the other brands?. For me (Swedish guy) i can see the use for one on almost every excavator, exept for like hard on digging or like feeding a crush or somthing. I think the machine gets so much more versatile and easier to make the final adjustments and finishing. And one of the best parts is that they come with quickoil system so you don´t need to get out and connect the hoses.f
Im operating a hitachi 350 mostly in demolition, tearing down buildings etc etc, and i got a oil quick system installed on the excavator im using, and most of the tools are or going to be fitted with it, Sorting grip hammer and the crusher, switching between the different tools takes 20 seconds maybie. and no need to get outside and fiddle with any connectors just plug n play basicly
Kicking back and watching you work while I pull my last graveyard shift (control room operator at a hydroelectric plant). Looks like I have some snow rolling in to my area later on today. I'll be thinking of you as I "Jerry" my ass into something...
Another awesome video! Quick couplers are great for certain things. When our excavators were delivered with them to our drilling rigs, first thing we had the company do was get rid of it and go back to stock. It just threw everything out of wack and cost us time and money. But I sure love running them. Keep up the great work and videos!!
I love the work vlogs they are entertaining. Especially since Muskoka is my favorite place in Ontario. Living In Hamilton and having family near North Bay I have spent alot of time in Muskoka
Great video 👍 But One thing that I never get out of My head when looking at People digging in other countrys is: Why tha hell don't you have a rototilt on your excavators!? Like a Engcon with a Quick connect.. I'am sure you have that investment back in No time. Here in Sweden you hardly see eny excavators without a rototilt or tilt-rotator or what you call it "over there" Cheers from Northern Sweden 🍻
6:21 How do I know which hose connects to which side? Because if I connect the wrong hose to the wrong side of the excavator/backhoe's stick, then the attachment's motor's gonna get all messed up. In this case, the tilt bucket; if I tilt it left, it's gonna tilt right instead.
Where did you get the hiviz gear? Also everyone has a opinion but it is based on their training and experience not yours on your ground is different from mine way more rocky
Hey Matt I'm looking at getting a 2022 sp 146 next year but I dont know if I want a 146 or not I know I want a shorter track but I dont know if ill get stuck constantly and it won't be any fun to ride in the mountains I'm a 100 pond 13 year old whats your thoughts?
Hey Matt, looking to inquire with you and you father in regards to some dozing and excavating at a property we just purchased in north bay. Wondering where I Can get some info from?
It’s always a good day when you upload!!
Absolutely...isn’t it 😉.
I'm 17 and I work for my dad doing to same kinda thing and watching someone else and seeing how they do it is really cool keep up the good work.
I always find it interesting to see how other company’s do things!
@@MuskokaFreerider just wondering, what do you actually do? Like your not a carpenter or a welder so what do you actually do?

Yeah see about zero Americans use rototilt i here in Norway 8/10 excavators have rototilt
I dig (😉) the work vlogs!
Liking these work vlogs. Cool to see what's involved in other industries
Thanks!

Rototilt has a base in Ontario, but I wouldn't use it on this particular job, too rough for an expensive rototilt to handle.

Like said, here in Sweden almost every single excavator have a Engcon and they use it to everything..

AMI attachments Matt, check them out. They are in Hawkesville, ON. They have progressive thumbs and quick couplers, tilt rotators without cylinders.
