I have been using a similar method on my suburban garden by throwing all my tree and bush trimmings on top of my garden, soil is amazing - black, loose, full of worms and crickets. I'd really like to see an update on this.
This is our first official stab at it too; I'm anxious to see how it turns out (it looks promising but you never know)
I plan on mulching my garden beds next year
