I wrote this arrangement many years ago...this still remains to be one of the most expressive performances I have heard. Wonderful ringing! Thanks for performing my music! Brian Childers, Mt Holly, NC USA

I have watched this a number of times, to help me in arranging this tune (without a piano accompaniment) for our recently formed handbell group here in West Cork, Ireland. It is hard to imagine that anyone could post a negative comment about this young lady's delivery of this tune, but there would seem to be several, most of which seem to be from people who think they know better. Well, come on then, let's hear your renditions of it. (Deliberately doesn't bother holding breath!)
What can you say except utter brilliance, this lady you can tell is really enjoying her playing, She really gets into what she's playing. I've seen players playing as if they didn't want to be there which is a great shame because you have to have some talent to take up bell ringing, This ladies got it all the talent, the temperament and loads of patients. I wish I could buy a CD of her music, does anyone know if she makes CDs for sale and if so where can they be purchased?
wow... this "instument" must be the most impressive I have seen in a long time. I was not aware of the sheer ammount of handbell's you needed for this arrangement. Bravo!

I concur for sure! Aside from the bizarre rhythmic 'interpretive liberties' the audio itself sounds quite good- can't bear to watch it though. She's so proud! Although unlike the other guy I don't think it's fake! Has he ever played a handbell?! The clapper is constructed so that it doesn't touch the bell (thus dampening the sound) regardless of the 'directional orientation' of the bell- hence the need to dampen against some surface. That's the whole concept of a bell! ...lingering ringing
Can anyone tell me if there is a website where I can get this version of the song? I've been searching for this version of the handbell solo (with piano accomp.) everywhere online and am having trouble finding this arrangement. Thanks.
+ I am Allan Yeah, but as long as she cleans the bells afterwards, there shouldn't be any harm done. It's pretty obvious that she's no novice at this, so she would most likely know to do that.
Definetly a fake. When the clapper lies on the bell when she helds it up there is no way how the bell can resonate as long as we hear it. Furthermore, so small bells cannot have such a clear sound.
I've played bells for 11yrs, & solos for 8yrs. I feel qualified to say this was poorly played. Decent weaving, (keeping a bell she needs seconds later, 2-in-hand bells to have time to grab another), but that's about it. Very poor arm movement (really? why is she raising her hand straight up? Even in an ensemble, you don't do that, & esp. not in a solo!) No gloves and damping on bare skin = big no-no's. Also, notes are played very unevenly, plus the video seemed to speed up and slow down. :(
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see a handbell ringer SMILE! Lovely job!

You are doing fine. Keep it up.
This is a really beautiful song. Where can I buy a copy of this arrangement?
(From the Top has a different accompaniment than the one performed here.)

Incredibly beautiful and spellbinding
The smaller the bell the clearer the sound is. Being in a choir myself and playing those high bells I can tell you that they are quite clear.
Divine. A very talented lady. Lovely

Mind blowing :O!
A VERY POSITIVE TEACH-ING 2 ALL.
It is not fake. she is just too good.
try to trust the world.
ЭТО ПРОСТО ЗАМЕЧАТЕЛЬНО, ОТКУДА ОНА?
Great Amazing
kitty8101, it might be slippery because she is playing so many bells by herself.
why gloves so matter to you?

You can find it if you go to Jeffers. (item No = RW 8153 )
God bless your soul!!!! :')
i know it is so hard to understand a handbell genius. Go over that limits and be free to play and enjoy your favorite music.
Spellbinding!
Gloria a Dios .
Cool :)
Can this arrangement be purchased anywhere?
Nvm, I figured it out. I was confused by the "Arr. E.A. Edgren" notation on the video.
My heart is in every bell, sweet lady!
Play on, play on, and ring my heart with love for God.
Bless you.
Mervyn691
some timing issues throughout.
I did the exact same thing. I couldn't believe when she wasn't wearing gloves, and I just about died when she dampened the sound against her chest.
U r supposed to wear gloves when handling handbells and handchimes
+ I am Allan Yeah, but as long as she cleans the bells afterwards, there shouldn't be any harm done. It's pretty obvious that she's no novice at this, so she would most likely know to do that.
Ek is mal hieroor. Kan heeldag na die musiek
Definetly a fake. When the clapper lies on the bell when she helds it up there is no way how the bell can resonate as long as we hear it. Furthermore, so small bells cannot have such a clear sound.
That's why she is probably the best known handbell player in the world, and nobody has heard of you.
She's damaging those bells by not wearing gloves. My choir director would have had a fit if we played without gloves! Otherwise, beautifully played.
That's because I have to play with multiple handbells. It's slippery with gloves on.
DD
this is incredible but her not wearing gloves makes me so uncomfortable lol
I have a problem with just about every part of her technique.
I've played bells for 11yrs, & solos for 8yrs. I feel qualified to say this was poorly played.
