I thought rocky and Bullwinkle came into the real world as cartoon characters because they were animals while the fearless leader, Boris and Natasha were humans in the cartoons so when they came into the real world they would already be live action humans.
If there's one moment that stands out to me in this movie, it has to be the scene before the toon is digitalised into the Internet. It's when they're walking into the technical department before meeting with the lead technician, who turns out to be a young girl. "There has never been a way to destroy a cartoon character until now." "What about Roger Rabbit?" "SHUT UP! THIS IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT!" De Niro's Faux-German delivery sells that line to me. XD
Hey jambareeqi TBH I disagree I actually love this movie! I actually think it’s the best live action movies based on a cartoon. Not saying it’s a fantastic movie but I honestly really enjoyed it! But I respect your opinion!
I can see why people aren't fans of the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, it's really something that's best viewed as a child. I used to watch re-runs of the show when I was a child, around the time Cartoon Network was first starting out as a channel. Heck, I grew-up in a town that used to have a Rocky and Bullwinkle themed park (not theme park like Disneyland, it was more like Chuck E. Cheese. It's a slowly dying Boomers now). While I enjoyed the Rocky and Bullwinkle segments, I enjoyed the little shorts in-between with Aesop and Son, Commander Bragg or Peabody and Sherman much more. That being said, I remember when this movie first came out, I was so excited to see it, and when I finally did, I was a *huge* disappointment. On a different subject, would you consider doing a Jam Bites or perhaps vlog on your thoughts of the official closing of Studio Ghibli?
I can totally see the appeal of the "Rocky & Bullwinkle" cartoons, I just find their visuals too distractingly poor xD Ghibli haven't closed, it was a mistranslation, Ghibli are on a break :) I am considering V-Logging about it, just so people know that they're not closing! :P
***** Yeah, it's definitely that funky old style of drawing. And, you probably should. I know many people were upset over the idea of them "closing", they might not realize Studio Ghibli's just on break..
Billy Barnett To me, the animation style is integral because it's job is to support the visual project and add weight to it's tone, mood, drama, emotion or intent. Bad or lazy animation can be a distracting eyesore that draws me out of the viewing experience. It can also weaken my emotional connection with the characters.
To me, good story and characters are enough to see past the animation. The show probably had a cheap budget, but I thought they did well with what they had.
I have considered it but my schedule is already pretty built up. I'm find it hard shifting things about, so I'll most likely end up reviewing certain films in a VERY long time.
Hey, would you ever consider reviewing any of the Ice Age movies, any of the Disney Renaissance movies, any of the Pixar movies, 8 Crazy Nights, or any Dreamworks movie? How about Sir Billi?
Okay so I only review films that I haven't seen reviews of because I like to have a fresh mind when watching each film. As I've watched Doug Walker's "DreamWorks-uary" and "Disneycember" series, I feel like my review of a DreamWorks or Disney Renaissance film would lack original opinions or thoughts because I'd have Doug Walker's reviews in my head. Same goes to "8 Crazy Nights". I hope this helps you understand my approach. However, the Ice Age films and Sir Billi are already on my schedule :)
I actually found this film pretty good. I first watched it on HBO. The only thing is that I only saw 20 minutes of it. Great review, though.
Watch the rest of it and see if you enjoy it, maybe you'll like it all the way through :)

Angie Ward Interesting interpretation :)

"look at what you made me do movie!! You made me broke my plate!!! Now what am I gonna eat my dinner on!?!?"
Umm, another plate maybe?
Rocky and bullwinkle movie had a dull plot. So what was the show??
He's looking it as a stand alone film.
Ben here
I forgot to ask you this: Did you really smash a plate?
Nah, it was thrown onto something soft, the smashing sound was added in
I really like the series and I wanna know whats the music you used for the intro?
This review's intro was composed by Luke McPhail, a music student that went to the same college as me
Great review Jambareeqi! :>
Ben here.
From 3:26 to 3:30, did you do it on purpose or did you alliterate twice by accident?
Haha no, that was a pretty cool coincidence xD

I saw the movie and I thought it was that bad
Would you ever consider reviewing The Last Unicorn?
+Nathan Forester I might do one day
Rocky and Bullwinkle's CGI looked bad. It feels like that they came from a PS2 game.

I really don't like to judge animation styles honestly, I just go with how the story is.
