Foldable Wall e print on prusa

- Since Fab365 designed the Foldable Robot, there have been many requests to design the Wall-E in a foldable way. This is because Wall-E is optimized for foldable design. However, the shape optimized for foldable is only the body, and Wall-E's head/eyes, arms, wheels and track are a challenging shape with many factors to consider.
Now that we too have gained a lot of experience, we now have the skills to create, and finally we can design like this.
STL- fab365.net/items/321
Please enjoy the foldable design skills that Fab365 has accumulated over the past 3 years with the Foldable Wall-E.
This is Fan art and FREE
Here are some things to keep in mind when making Foldable Wall-E.
When folding the body, make sure to check the positions of the protrusions and holes before folding.
The parts attached to the upper corner of the Wall-E's body have a small adhesive area, so it is recommended to apply the adhesive carefully before sticking.
The neck must first be pushed up and then rotated before it can move.
The arm moves along the rail. On the lower rail, it moves well when the arm is forward, and on the upper rail, it moves well along the rail when raised up.
To make the track move well, it's a good idea to grease the wheels with sewing machine oil.
If the tracks are well separated, it is helpful to increase the flow rate.
Largest part in printing, size = X 160mm, Y 184mm, Z 25mm

He is absolutely perfect!
Thank you very much! I look forward to your print review~

‘He’?
Those tolerances are WAYYY too good to be legal. What is your secret, printing man?
This... Is honestly beyond stunning. This, right here, is the *_perfect_* Wall-E playable desk toy. besides needing some friction in a few spots the only thing he's missing is a movable thumb.
I don't have a 3D printer, nor do I have access to any places with a public use 3D printer, so I genuinely have to ask if you would be willing to print these through commission, and if so I'd like to know what you'd charge to print the little guy's parts and ship them.
Same here, I would buy this no matter the price
I love wall-E and I missed out on the Lego version so this I would love
Same. I can't print this but would purchase one, if the option was there...
This would not be legal to see due to copyright laws
@@themblue8236 As long as the 3d model isn't being sold it should be fine.
@@themblue8236
I would be paying for the service of someone printing something that is publicly available, the expense would not be for the shape of the item/character, but to cover the materials used as well as the shipping.
The model being public means you aren't purchasing it. You're just paring the labor and material expenses for someone else to print it because you haven't the tools necessary to do so, yourself.
Great design and the price is right. FREE if you have bought other designs in the past. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you Robothut~ I hope you print this design~ 😁
What would be a good challenge would be to make it compress into its cube form
😅
It would be a bit hard actually, because the Wall-E's lenses uses the same storage distribution as the arms, so you would need to see how to compact his eyes into themselves, and about the joints of the tracks, would be required to be flexible and to go some hinges between the tracks and go into the center of the compaction.
Because the Transforming Wall-E toy from 2008, kinda almost make it, but it could only be limited to have narrow and compacted tracks, and compacted arms and lenses, or the same proportion, but the cube was a bit bigger.
I got the toy, so I spend days analysing the model itself.
@@SMGSpiritRT thus it would be an interesting design challenge
@@SMGSpiritRT Are you under the impression that a good challenge is an easy one?
thats what i expected with that descripton - "Foldable Wall-e print" :/
lack of glue is impressive, but thats about it. Rest is not that hard to make, tho will take some experimentation
Seeing him snap together so easily is so satisfying-
I'd love to see a version of this where you can open his front and put something small inside if that would be possible!
You guys outdone yourself! This design and assembly mechanics are a great culmination of 3D modelling and printing experience. Hope you sell loads of these!
I love Wall-E...thanks for that!...one question only the recommend extrusion width used in this one?
Thank you! I use 0.4mm nozzle and same extrusion width. Please enjoy~
Dude you would be a awesome toy maker. Toys these days now are so...ugh. I remember as a kid how much fun I had with toys that could move better, pose better and were much more to play with. You have a gift.
Wall E was one of my favorite movies growing up and this also turned into one of my favorite videos of the year.
Thank you very much for watching and comment!!! Please enjoy my design and video~ 😄
it's so cool the details and mechanic parts are on top, some dry brushing will make it looks even better
I like the way wall-e looks. It reminds me of those toys over there. It is seen that you have improved a lot in your 3d impressions since the last time I saw you, keep it up my friend
When I print out the wall-e, my daughter will be very happy!
Thank you very much for making your work available for free download!
You are welcome! Have fun~ 😁
Honesty whoever designed this is a genius. Im printing the smaller parts right now and the way they positioned it so this can be made with 0 supports. Mind blowing! I love seeing walle coming to existence right in front of me ❤
Thanks for printing and comment! Please enjoy~
I literally dreamt of this toy the night I went to watch Wall-E in the movie theatre.
Thanks for making my dreams true!
I love WALL-E, he’s my favorite character from the movie
Yes. Me too.
Suprising amount of articulation in thos arm dispite it being a 3d print. Realy cool
Thank you for watching and comment! Please enjoy~
It looks both high quality and high effort.
I wish it could transform the same way like the original.
I needed to see something like this ages ago, love it. :')
very cool. Love these designs. I was hoping the garbage masher door would open on him too... but the amount of movable parts on him is very cool as it is!
It may be possible with further advancements in 3D printers. Thank you~
I love wall-E cute design and great job
Amazing, I think the most true to form Wall-E out there. My grandson wants a robot for his birthday now that he heard I have a 3D printer, so I guess I better get cracking.
Thanks~ I hope your grandson like my Wall-e. Please enjoy~
@@fab365_official Sorry to bother you, I have printed it and mine doesn't click together as permanently as your video 'appears' to show. Are the six sides and silver front insert supposed to be glued after clicking together? Also after folding in and positioning the track wheels assembly, they drop down quite easily. should they be pushed in and then glued as well?
This looks amazing! Thanks for sharing with the world!
Thanks for watching and comment!!! Please enjoy~
Zawarudo!!
This is so cool! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks! The model design is brilliant!
Thank you so much for your supports!!! I will do my best~😆

what a handsome lil' robot!
😁😁😁
Very cool, it also got articulation to make some poses, furthermore the wheel could rolling! Impressive you can makes your own design wall e figure. 👍
Thank you for watching and comment!
I find this way more attractive than most of the morden toys
This is the future!!!
incredible design!
Thanks a lot~ Please enjoy~
Truly awesome, I'm an old dude and still a wall e fan.
Me too. Please enjoy and thank you~
It would be amazing if he could turn into a cube, just like in the movie
I can't
The whiteness of the portion around his lenses makes him look like a minion and I can’t unsee it now
That looks so awesome
Thanks for watching! Please enjoy~
Okay
I love this Wall min-E
Been waiting for something like this to exist
Thank you! Please download and print.
Wall-e was the first movie I saw in theaters back in 08. Best pixar movie IMO
I agree. One of the best pixar movie.
Oooh it looks cool! Good job :D

It's amazing~!!
I love Wall-E~!!

as a wall e fan, i am extremely jealous
Don't be jealous. You can print~
Wow is FREE really THANKS YOU 😀
Very impressive design. The only improvement it needs is something to hold the eyes in position when you move them. Otherwise this design is perfect. So well done.
Thank you for your comment! 😁
I’m printing this right now it’s super amazing highly recommend if you have a printer

Thank you very much!
Nevermind it broke the second I tried putting it in shape
How well would this print in PETG on an original Ender 3? I've had great issues with petgs stability, but it's all I've got at the moment. Would I need to adjust anything to make it work better? I foresee lots of issues with the connections that hold the body together, as with the neck. Phenomenal work though! That's an incredible model, especially with the extra gimmicks like the moving tracks and rear hinge. You've outdone yourself!
Oo youtube knows I like Wall-E, good to be back.
UA-cam knows what you like, and what I like. Thanks for watching!
@@fab365_official Heh, See if you can do a 3D print of the Axiom.
I love Wall, at home I have his fan to cool me down
😃
Looks like theres also enough room you could fit a tiny lil voice box inside wall-e where if you pick up the model it could say "wall-e" like in the movie
Gee, I would have loved doing this as a kid.
I'm love WALL.E.And perfect!
Me too. Please enjoy~
let the printing begin !
This brings back memories of a cake I had once
How do i get the pegs at the top of the arms that slide along the rails to print correctly? My printer refuses to do that it just falls apart or tangles into a little ball at the top of the arm.
(Im using cura as a slicer and my printer is a Anycubic Kobra Neo with a 0.4mm nozzle.)
printed the first half last night and will do the second part tonight and then put it all together tomorrow can't wait for it to be done will be posting photos

I love that robot Wall-E

For anyone who's planning to assemble this thing:
YOU CAN'T FORCE THE TRACKS, DON'T TRY IT! You'll only hurt your fingers. Rather than that, try using a nails file on the pins and align them one by one - first the lower part, than the middle one, and finally the top part.
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
im a big wall e fan and i love this 3D printed wall e

I love it! Especialy the head and arms! Wish the foldable meant you could fold him into a cube tho :( good work tho!
It may be possible with further advancements in 3D printers. Thanks~
It looks like model kit.
Thank you! I will make it better than model kit~
wow i will do this when i got the colors.. very nice!!
Thanks! Please enjoy~
Impressive.
Looks amazing and I would love to have one! Is there any way I could purchase one, as I don't have any method of making one myself?
Ngl I was expecting it to be folded down to a box at the ending

Buenas tardes, es fabuloso la forma de ensamblar cada una de las piezas... Felicitaciones. ¿Que tipo de pegamento se emplea?
Do you know if the layout will fit on a 3D resin printer? What's the bed size?

@@fab365_official good
What percentage of padding was it printed with?
Hope he makes a version that will transform into cubes one day
Tree or normal support when printing his body. I have ender 3 pro btw. Thanks
This is great and all, but what i wanna know is why did you make his body one weird little thing where you have to fold it in order to make it look like a cube? Couldn’t you just make a regular cube and treads?
Oh, when the title said "foldable", I assumed that meant it can compact into a box like the real Wall-E. Regardless, this is so cool!
😅😅😅 Thanks anyways~
please let me know that is the star ship crew available as an assembled unit?
Me: prints something long and thin
**Breaks immediately**
The Wall-E community is still alive after all these years
I absolutely love the models fab365 comes up with. But I will admit Im envious. I have a few printers and none of them are dialed into be this clean
I watch a lot of youtube videos to keep the quality of the output of my 3D printer. UA-cam shares many ways to improve the output quality of your 3D printer. I would recommend you watch a lot of UA-cam videos about 3D printing.
Thank you~
I don't think my Flashforge Finder can print this specifically because It don't have that print bed sheet so removing the print afterwards involves a spatula that will break small parts. Have failed to print other foldables too, for the same reason.
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ영상 볼때마다 으른이 전용 조립 장난감 같아요 애기들 하다가 막대기 부셔먹을것 같은 느낌...

That time, engineers will use my design method. 😁
Thanks for the Video what kind of glue do you recommend for PLA
I use this super glue. shop.fab365.net/products/loctite-super-glue-easy-brush-on-spreadable-applicator-5g-%EB%B3%91
Masterful

When I made this print, nothing "clicked in place". I had to glue everything together. I used a Bambu Carbon X1 Printer using PLA. I DID try the body in PETG, but same thing. Everything is loose. But at least I can glue it. So cute.
