Silk refers to the type of thread being used, Satin describes a specific pattern of how the fabric was woven. Which is why "satin" can come in a variety of fabrics like silk or nylon. FYI.
Just one thing I wanted to clarify if someone hasn't already. Silk is a fiber, satin is a weave. Meaning you can have silk satin, polyester satin and nylon satin, because what makes it satin is not the fiber content but the way it is woven together. Silk, cotton, polyester, wool and nylon are all fibers that make up different weaves like satin, brocade and chiffon. Sorry, I know that is totally not the point of the video. On another note your hair is gorgeous. My hair only looks like that with extensions.

I love this video, thanks! I tried a satin pillowcase before and I just hate it, for some reason it feels nasty on my face I don't like it. Plus it heats up a lot quicker than cotton. So I compromised and just got cotton pillowcases with a very high thread count (makes it a lot smoother).

I might still try the silk one but I don't know lol. I love the feel of cotton.

Thanks so much for this video! Do to some thyroid and other health problems i Just got some extensions put in and was looking for ways to sleep with my hair at night. I did already know about the pillowcase, got mine at my local walmart. I also have a silk night cap. Before extensions i used to brush my hair upside down and put in a high bun before bed, but woke up every morning with a headache and sore head. So now i just put my hair in a loose low braid and wear my night cap. But thanks so much for more ideas how to wear my hair at night :) and thanks for the curling tutorials also!

My hair isn't that thick and I still have the problem of my scalp hurting from it being up. I prefer to wear my hair down to sleep because it really doesn't tangle much at all and I tend to put my hands in my hair anyways while I sleep so if its in some sort of updo I tend to break my hair off by putting my hands all in it. Plus my hair looks best when i don't mess with it a lot anyways.
Silk is a fibre and satin is a weave/fabric so you can get a silk satin. X

Silk satin is nothing strange. Silk is type of fiber (like cotton, polyester, acrylic, wool), and satin is type of weave, which result is shiny and smooth fabric. There can be cotton satin, silk satin, most common is polyester satin.

I do a plat/braid at the back most nights because my hair is really and i mean very thick haha otherwise i rarely leave it out but only when im super tired

I just wish tangles don’t exists bc I have thin hair and I’m SUPER DUPER tinder headed so even the slightest tangle hurts so bad but whenever I where a ponytail to bed it helps a bit but you will still have a few tangles

Satin in not a textile or yarn. It's a way of weaving. The loom can weave silk yarns in satin technique. But most if so called satin textile is made from viscose yarns

I used to have long thick black hair but my hair just started falling out badly my hair now isnt that thick as it was two years ago I used many natural shampoos as they say its better but I stopped and started using tresemee professionals shampoo and I've henna my hair two times I dont really know what to do so my hair get back thick:(♡

I am lucky and unlucky with my hair. It is wavy but its really puffy more than wavy. It is SUPER think and knots easily. I want to grow my hair really long but my mom wont let me cause it is so think. That is why I'm unlucky. I am lucky because I only have to wash my hair once a week and it is not even oily then. Satin refers to the weave of the fabric not the material. I think braids have to be the best way, now if only hair could braid itself!

No I have semi thick crazy tangly hair
It probably means you have a lot of split ends I read a lot that your hair tangles because of split ends
If you have straight hair but it tangles like crazy, it might be because of damage, and you should take better care of your hair and be gentler with it. If you have curly or wavy hair, plenty healthy and moisturized, that tangles, welcome to the club. :)
Polyester pillow cases are also good for the hair
