@@trickykappa Heck yeah! Did my best to keep this as spoiler free as possible but the important thing is seeing it on the big screen for yourself while you can! 💛
Thank you for your fabulous review and analysis. Absolutely spot on, you've articulated just how I felt about this movie. I saw Better Man at the start of the year and was completely blown away by it. The movie has stayed with me and I've seen it twice more!! I laughed, I cried, the latter I didn't expect. Being from the UK and of a certain age, Take That and Robbie Williams were very familiar to me. The thing is I wasn't really a huge fan at the time. In the early 2000s, whilst Robbie was ruling the world (apart from America!) and killing it at Knebworth, I was a too cool for school type of girl and into bands like The Libertines and probably quite sneering about pop acts. Fast forward 20+ years, I realise the music of Take That and Robbie must have seeped into my young developing mind, as damn it if I wasn't able to sing along (in my head, I wouldn't inflict that on the rest of the cinema) to every Take That and Robbie song in the film. What can I say, I love Better Man. Stunning, visually dazzling, daring, bold, surreal, funny, dark and above all honest. It's a crying shame more people didn't take a leap of faith and see this wonderful movie in the cinema, but let's prepare ourselves for it being a cult classic and watch when it starts streaming and the naysayers start saying "oh Robbie Williams I owe you an apology, I wasn't familiar with your game' and "why didn't anyone tell me how great this movie was" and " OMG, I should have been a better man/woman and seen this on the big screen". Until then I may pop into my local Odeon next week and see it again. 🥰
This is such a lovely comment - thank you so much for watching my review and obviously, for watching Better Man! And I know exactly how you feel - I've seen it in theaters 3 times and it's been living rent-free in my head ever since. (It's a shame Robbie doesn't live in the States anymore but I definitely have a condo with his name on it in my head, haha!) This movie is a testament to how if you tell a story well with the right blend of style, substance and honesty, it WILL have the staying power for people to come back to it. And no worries! I think that's part of developing your musical taste as a person too - I absolutely went through a mostly indie phase back in the day but now, I'm all about dancey stuff like future funk and disco. But at least now, we can be mildly smug that we were in on how great Better Man is from the start. Thanks again for watching and giving this movie the support it deserves! :D
@@gigatronusprime Ahhh, thank you so much! 🫶 I will sing the praises of Better Man like Tarzan beating his chest so more people will give it a shot. Also, I *really* need to get it on Blu-ray ASAP once it’s released since they pulled it from theaters here. 😭
Great review! Makes me want to go and watch!!
I saw Better Man - I thought it was good
Fabulous review! I also thought it looked pretty dumb, now, maybe not so much!
Great review!
It was odd hearing "His grandmother, Nan". That's really just saying "his grandmother, Grandmother"!
@@RobertJW Haha, true. I totally spaced she was named Betty until after I finished the edit, of course. 😅 Appreciate you watching my review!
@BagelTheBat Very enjoyable for me. And as punishment, you must listen to Nan's Song, from Escapology! For Betty, of course.
@ Oh, twist my arm why don’t you! 😜 Will do and thanks for the recommendation.
Haven’t seen it yet but will def give it a watch! Thanks for the pic feed back!!❤

This is a great, really well made review! I agree with pretty much every point you've made. Thanks for spreading the gospel of Better Man. Subscribed.

the irony of a bat based youtube channel judging a monkey based movie 😂
I guess the youtube channel doesnt cost 100 mill
Sad, Gay and full of Disco music, sounds like my life
It sounds like your noisy condo. *hits ceiling with broom handle* Keep it down up there! 😠
