@vincemartinflying Beautiful music. There is a healing power in music, in listening to music, and in making music. I was particularly taken by what I heard from the woman who began speaking at 1:40. Not her language, but her music. Peter, Jesus, I have no use for them or what they might have said. I love the music of people making music _now._
@@soilmanted I hope someday you will find a use for Jesus Christ because he saved your soul and without him you’re gonna pay for your own sins. Because of our sin, we are all condemned, but Jesus paid the price. What a love ❤
Though we disciples of Christ sometimes feel downhearted and discouraged, we shouldn't ever give up hope and God. Because in the end, things will be better in the future. Being a disciple of Christ isn't easy but if a Christian like me remains faithful. The eternal reward awaits us.
Nearly every Sunday I will start the day with listening to the choir singing so impressively this spiritual. Just before joining the church meeting I have to know that I was sinsick last week, but there is still that wonderful balm of Gilead. Thanks for this wonderful performance.
I entirely agree Klaas. When I first heard it it brought tears to my eyes and I had to find out who the singers were and where it was recorded. I decided to take the risk of recording it and sharing it on UA-cam, whatever the consequences. Otherwise the performance could have sunk into oblivion. I did the same with 'There's a sweet, sweet spirit in this place' ua-cam.com/video/-9EGwkimNeQ/v-deo.html. They have never sung better on 'Songs of Praise' and the broadcaster has not taken action against me. It sounds as if you are viewing it in exactly the right way. May God Bless you.
Ronald Ellis My soyl was in distress and this accappella version with men's bass, the part where they chime in on Holy Spirit revives my soul REVIVED MY SOUL that I was longing for for months..thankyou for posting..beautiful acoustics!!
One of my favorite songs. I learned it as a child. Now, I am 52 and at times, I literally cry out to God for his peace. When this song comes to mind, I have to play it, stop and really listen. So peaceful. Simple. Honest
I looked up this song after a doctor said to me, “How the f-ck did you not get the virus?”, after being heavily exposed. I’m not saying it worked- but I used propolis nose spray, and propolis throat spray and gargles. I use propolis on skin too- and I told the doctor- it is in the Bible- the balm of Gilead, propolis. I got turned onto it by a veterinarian for my dogs skin. It is the Balm of Gilead.
How beautifully, and reverently, this choir sings this great spiritual. And how rare it is, to hear something sung with such deep reverence. Oh, thank you, dear friends in Christ; you have blessed me, today.
I can't get enough of this wonderful song/video! The harmony, balance and arrangement is breathtaking. Each individual contributes equally to the perfection of the sound of the whole group! No one is trying to outdo anyone else - it is a mutual effort to the resulting sound. WOW! (Isn't that symbolic of how Christians are to encourage and support each other?) Look at the smiles on the faces as they sing - each of them seem to mean what they are saying. The Director and each member of this vocal group are an inspiration to me. Bless you all! I have listened to this probably over 100 times in the last week. It brings me such pleasure. Thanks for posting this! :)
Thank you for this beautiful soothing hymn.....I’m inspired in The Lord, to keep on giving out the gospel...our balm of Gilead, JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR, during these upside down, times. God Bless you all.
Sustenance is gained, healing begins, Dear God take pity and compassion on this crazy world. Let folks who sing like this become our harbingers of peace.
This truly amazing!! It makes me want to cry :'(. "I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me." Philippians 4:13. Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me courage. Amen.
A very, very beautifully sung arrangement of this song. What a wonderful promise for us all. Praise be to God for the truth of healing through Jesus' death and resurrection!
Two weeks ago when I was at my uncle's awake, I felt some grief coming in but it didn't affect me until the next day at work. The day after my uncle's awake. I was working productively but one of my work associates was criticizing me. Obviously I was in the process of grief. By the time I got home, I was listening to this song and started crying.
The congregation of New Hope Presbyterian Church in La Feria, Texas (U.S.) thanks you for your beautiful version of this hymn! We are worshiping on Zoom and were all able to enjoy this together today. Quite a few commented that this is one of their favorite hymns. Many said this is the most beautiful rendition they have ever heard. Prayers for all who help to bring your music to the world - praises for the music! and prayers for everyone's safety in this time of pandemic.
I was moved by the beautiful rendition of this spiritual, and I feel comfort and peace when I listen to this song. Thank you so much for sharing this performance.
When l hear the words There is a balm in Gilead l think of the song we did when l was in 6th grade in 1965. l was a member of the All Philadelphia Boys Choir ! 300 voices and one soloist and we sounded very very very very close to what you're hearing now ! Well done Adventist !
What a beautiful blessing to hear this message in song! Thank you, God, for voices like these that are lifted to create the sounds that they do! Stunning performance!
Appreciate the kind comments, and it moves me to know others are being moved by it. The arrangement is now available on the sheetmusicplus. Look for 'There Is A Balm In Gilead', Ken Burton
Thanks, for the beautines! From these golden voices, who are inspired treu the Gospel, and The Holy Spirit! Yes, thereh is a balm in Giliad,...His Name is Jesus,... Amen! Greetings from the Netherlands, and thanks for sharing! Ton
Thank you for a beautiful, meaningful version of that very precious song...I had "goose bumps" and listened to it over-and-over because it BLESSES ME so much!
Your music and these lyrics of this song, There is a balm in Gilead truely spoke to my heart and mind this morning taking me out of discouragement. Thank you for sharing your beautiful voices.
Beyond wonderful .This balm of Gilead -Jesus our Saviour. This offers comfort to those who have lost their way a little.Ihave sent it to such persons within my family and it spoke to them like a little touch from Heaven .
Kenneth Burton - Thank you for this splendid arrangement that artfully "gentles-out" the beauty in every aspect of this spiritual. It is helping me stay strong and calm in a frightening time.
The singing is just awesome! The message is so amazing. In my mind I could visualize this hymn being sung by a Black choir. Now, here it is ,with a mixed but predominantly Black choir. So wonderful!
Beautiful rendition of a really soul filling and heart encouraging message!! Thanks for posting and I commend your choir for your God honoring singing! Phil
Thank you to this amazing choir for lifting my weary soul with the reverent beauty of your united voices of encouragement and beauty. God bless each one of you.
Getting up from afternoon nap i just remembered this song I used to sing in a choir many decades ago, and decided to google it to near the song. Enjoyed the rendition. Very soothing🦋
So very much more in that 1) it acknowledges need for healing, 2) provides real hope for healing that so many of us need at one or more times of our lives - genuine healing by the Lord Jesus' intervention on my behalf and every other needy person of all time and place, just for believing His promises. While this song requires Scriptural explanation to be fully effective, it can be a beautiful starting point for musicians inclined toward such instruction.
Last week at work, my day was going well but then things got from bad to worse. And I felt like crying. I let the tears out. 😥😥😢😢. Not at work but at home.
Whenever I listen to this church song, I think of one of my cousins who suffers from depression and it’s clinical depression because he’s on medication that hopefully helps with his depression and hopefully he doesn’t take his life at all because if that happens, my mom and I and his parents will be devastated emotionally. So let’s hope and pray that he doesn’t take his life and hopefully he’ll keep up with his medication.
I was first introduced to this song at First Baptist of Sunrise, Sunrise FL. Now these tumultuous times and the temptation to look at politicians or money or a relationship to heal us brought me here.
God is really using this beautiful song to wipe away our tears at the senseless and tragic killing of ‘Saint George Floyd’ in Minneapolis, Minnesota Monday May 25. Thank God ‘Saint George’ is free at last at the bosom of Jesus, like Lazarus, receiving his blessings and rewards. Well done, good and faithful friend of Jesus! You have joined the millions of martyrs who died defending their freedom in Christ. Free at last. Thank God you are free. No more bondage! No more chains, only righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. We miss you. We love you,✝️✝️✝️
They sing so heavenly. On repeat. It's like the gates of heaven are opened and we are able to hear this coming from it.
Yes. Yes
Beautiful rendition. Well done choir. There truly is a healing power in Jesus. May each of us find him!

Such beautiful, string and tender voices! Thank you so much to all the singers and everyone who made this blessed video possible.
Whoops, sorry! I meant "strong" not "string."

YES 🙌 LORD JESUS CHRIST
A most consoling song in this time of confinement. Let us ask the Lord to send His healing balm on the entire world.
I had this song playing in my head all day today. Just thought I’d listen before I head to bed. God be with you and your family. God be with us all.
Amen
Ascent boy I needed to hear this ..

In 2021 and in this time of uncertainty and pain, this Song, sung by this choir brings peace. I believe there is a Balm in Gilead.
A wonderful Song make me fill ou t of me and thinking to stay in the church for Life. Wonderful.
I was moved by this hymn. I was reading Jeremiah chapters 7&8. God bless
Amazing message for today's world. We need His healing and comfort so badly!
Subtle harmonic blends...reassuring, gentle, graceful...Underscores the truth of Jesus' marvelous grace in healing!
What a blessing. When I was in high school long ago, we had a superb vocal music program. This was one of my favorites.
How beautifully, and reverently, this choir sings this great spiritual. And how rare it is, to hear something sung with such deep reverence. Oh, thank you, dear friends in Christ; you have blessed me, today.
Agree... Well said, Val P
