FULL COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Making an eye mechanism for an animatronic creature character usually requires expensive equipment: C&C mills, water jet metal cutters and metal lathes for precision cutting and shaping of metal parts.
The need for such tools, unfortunately, puts these methods out of reach for most of our audience. In this video course, Dave uses FREE CAD software and an inexpensive 3D printer to "grow" his parts. The resulting 3D Printed Eye Mechanism is as elegant and effective as those used by the pros but achieved at a fraction of the cost.
COURSE HIGHLIGHTS:
-- Designing and fabricating an animatronic eye mechanism
-- A discussion of 3D modeling software
-- Designing organic parts: eyeball & swash plate, eyelids
-- Designing mechanical parts: servo block and pulleys
-- Assembling your grown parts
-- Programming and tuning a typical radio remote control unit
Approximate Run Time - 04:44:15
