- This week on the Oldish Podcast, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Tori Spelling to the show! As the sister of Randy and longtime friend and co-star of Brian, our conversation was so engaging and insightful that we had to split it into a two-part special.
Growing up in the spotlight, Tori was no stranger to fame, scrutiny and the challenges that come with a life lived publicly. From her iconic role on "Beverly Hills, 90210" - one of the most successful television shows of all time produced by her legendary father, Aaron Spelling-to navigating the twists and turns of personal and professional life, Tori shares it all.
In this episode, Tori and Brian dive deep into their shared experiences on "Beverly Hills, 90210," reflecting on behind-the-scenes stories, their evolving relationship, and the surprising reasons that led them to stop talking for 18 years. The trio also takes a nostalgic trip back to the '90s, reminiscing about what they managed to get away with during that unforgettable decade.
Join us for an honest and heartfelt conversation filled with laughter, revelations, and a candid look into the lives of those who grew up under the Hollywood microscope. You won't want to miss this two-part journey through fame, friendship and the lessons learned along the way.

I so can relate to Tori about dealing with confrontation. I'd rather walk on hot coals than confront someone about anything. This was a very powerful listen for me...
Randy is a kind heart. He got me through some hard sobriety time as a life coach.
Wow !!!🤩 🥹😍🥰🥰
I can see how Randy does things & helps explain things for Tori & it's so sweet!
This is the most comfortable and real I've ever seen Tori. I've never listened to or seen this podcast before and this was such a great first episode to fall into.
Same here. 😀
Same.
❤❤❤ it’s good to see you, Donna and David together .
I’m so happy that I’ve met all of this cast except Luke 😢 and I can honestly say everyone is cool as hell and so down to earth and nice. Some people say don’t ever meet your heroes and when I was a teenager this show was so important to me and has lived with me for so long. Thank you for being everything I thought you were. ❤
RIP Shannon. You were beautiful impactful and memorable. Condolences to her friends and family 💔💐😭😇🙏
So glad hearing you all took so much pride in the creative process of the show ❤❤❤
I can't imagine the pressure Tori had growing up being rich and famous not by her choosing.I had a very foreign name growing up and begged my parents to change it just because of how I got treated and that was just a middle class setting.Proud of how far she's come with all the obstacles. ❤
If she got a job because of her dad, who cares? Omg Tori was incredible and an incredible part of the show. ❤She was working, she worked.
The feels on this episode. ❤ I always love seeing Brian and Tori together. Two kind, down to earth souls.
I had one counseling session with Randy. I couldnt afford to continue on, but our one hour meeting totally changed my perspective and thinking and my problem literally resolved in a matter of days.
It's wonderful to see these 2 go from fresh baby faced young teens on an iconic show playing an iconic couple now who are grown with families of their own .
Brian, I loved your exposure therapy session with Tori! You encouraged her to step into her power and truth. My heart ached for Tori watching and listening to her struggle to speak up. You're so direct yet so respectful, I just loved it! I hope Tori can find her voice and confrontation therapy really helps! It's hard af, I've been there, but overcoming fear of conflict and confrontation is the key.
Tori - you've got this, girl!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you all, for making my mid teens/early 20s the best. BEVERLY Hills 90210 was really popular in Sweden. R. I. P to lovely Shannen Doherty as well 😢😢 and ofc Luke Perry my all time crush
Love how pure and raw this conversations was. We are so used to see the chemistry of Donna and David and forgot the core of it it’s Briann and Tori. How beautiful to see this love and friendship 🥹 hope you guys keep this bond and get it stronger ❤❤
I've never seen your podcast before, and am SO happy it showed up in my feed! I was a 23 year old cocktail waitress in West Covina when the show came out and my best friend and i would tape the show to watch at my apartment after work. Seeing the 3 of you just sitting and talking like this was wonderful!! 😊
I am the exact same way about the phone as Tori! There are very few people in the world that I don't mind actually talking to on the phone, otherwise I freak out and just avoid the call. I have written out conversations so that I have every option written down that could happen during a phone call so I don't stress out. I will text all day long but to speak to someone makes me feel awful. I think my issue is a bit of overthinking and also never wanting to say the wrong thing and then upset anyone! I didn't realize until watching this episode how much I relate to Tori because I have always been a people pleaser and while on a very different scale, so many people in my area knew my Dad and that was always a whole thing with me. I cannot wait to see part 2! And thanks to all y'all for being so open and honest! ❤
So interesting, I've been the same way for many years. I don't know if, well, I guess I do know. Once texting started, it gave me a way out of speaking on the phone. I even have a tough time talking to people in person, at times easier to talk to strangers. Positive vibes for us all that think this way. 😀
I am the same way!!! Funny thing when we had phones on the wall I was never like this! I think it’s because EVERYONE has a phone in their pocket, and you just never KNOW where they are and who is listening,THATS the part that gets me nervous,I don’t trust people anymore because we have seen so much of the ugly side of people through SM.
Wow this was such a genuine conversation. I loved every minute. Thank you for showing up as your authentic selves and more than that airing this. So brave & honest.
What a wonderful, raw and real reunion for the 3 of you. It really makes me reflect on my own past behaviors and relationships. Glad your relationships have blossomed into what they are now. Keep doing the work, folks. ❤
This interview just makes me so happy for you.
Thanks for watching, David! You've been selected as one of our latest 1000 subscribers for an Oldish gift! Please email us at oldishpod@gmail.com for details.
I would watch a Tori & Brian podcast series! This was great
Yes I TOTALLY AGREE!!! They have incredible chemistry!!!
Yep. On board with David + Donna pod. Shall we start a petition,?
I grew up watching 90210. I re-watched all 10 seasons a while back, and then recently watched some episodes again. Also, loving this podcast!
Randy and Brian seem like the type of guys that were coo and hung out with the cool kids but stood up for the little guy
I grew up watching Shannen as Jenny (LHOTP), Molly (Our House), Brenda Walsh and Prue on Charmed. My mother was a huge fan of hers too. My mother compared the "b*tch* label that was placed on her in the early 90's was the same way that Joan Crawford, Lauren Bacall and Katherine Hepburn were also portrayed as "being difficult on the set" but in fact they were not *b*tches*. They were powerful women that would not compromise their integrity or intelligence because of some weak man/woman or weak men/women. They had to fight back and deserved to be listened to. Shannen Dohertys are a rare find these days. God bless you for sharing the whole podcast and taking the time to shine insight on what a beautiful, special and powerful woman Shannen was.❤
This was so good. I was 14 y/o watching this show growing up. I loved these actors and I can truly relate to Tori! I am a people pleaser and non confrontational. But I’m learning to work through that. This is so therapeutic for me… so didn’t expect this but glad I tuned in and ready for the second half….❤
Brian .. Thank y’all for for this ❤️
This is a great conversation. I remember the conversations going around about Tori when she was in 90210 and that she was only in it because of her dad. After I heard it, I began to pay more attention to her acting and I did not see anything wrong with it. I remember I grew to like the character more. Ha ha ha
I was really happy to go through the comments and see the positivity and not to many negative comments and bashing about things NO ONE can ever imagine living. They all had a bigger than life image.
So happy.
I absolutely loved this chat session between the three of you. Brian, you were spot on in saying 90210 wasn’t only a teen audience. I was actually 26 when the show first aired. It was, and still is by far, my favorite show ever. I’m now 60 (😅), and still go back and watch the complete series on DVD!!! I hope to have the opportunity to catch you all some day at a Comic Con! I missed the chance when you attended the Monroeville, PA event. Thanks for sharing your stories with us!!!
The writing was terrible
I'm loving that this is on UA-cam now and I can watch you guys. Love, love it!!❤ love Tori as well.

Loved hearing this and can't wait for part 2. It was interesting hearing Brian ask Tori why they didn't speak for 18 years after wrapping 90210. Hearing Tori fumble with her words and dropping hints.... and then I totally got it!! I was surprised Brian didn't get it!❤💔
What’s the reason?!
@@SusieQZeeI think Tori knew Brian knew she was in a bad relationship and didn’t want to hear what he had to say?? It probably would have led to some sort of confrontation, which she couldn’t handle at the time because she’s a people pleaser?🤷♀️
Omg. Why is Tori not in therapy working on this? Or if she has been in therapy, why isn’t she still going?
@@MSUSPARTANS1973ooooh. That makes sense!
@@MSUSPARTANS1973yesssss!! You got it!! You are an empathetic soul!! I totally read between the lines as well,as someone who has been in that exact situation,it is so true!! It’s a process that no one can make you “get to” but yourself, and the only thing having people there with you is going to make you feel ashamed more than anything.
Tori wasnt just a nepo bc she obviously had talent and put in the work. She did not just feed off family. She earned her spot . There could be no other person to play Donna
I am a huge Shannon Doherty fan. Followed her career ❤
How amazing to have life-long friends that you can have such honest and cathartic conversations with. I have such respect for the way you connect with each other. Great podcast! Im really looking forward to following!
I fell asleep listening to this last night. Great conversation - one that needs to have a lot more attention. Why do we choose men who steal our joy? If it can happen to Tori Spelling it can happen to anyone. It's important to teach our children I the younger generation ) to find themselves and your happiness - then find someone to share that with and NOT do what Tori ( and myself plus many others ) did by choosing someone who needed to be fixed, who prays on kind hearts, and sucks the life from them ( might be a bad choice of words, but it's the honest truth ) Love is not cowing down to our partner so they feel superior ** Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Example - Brian unconditionally loved Tori and wanted to see her happy - and it sounds like the loves she picked were all jealous/envious of Brian *Tori - you look happy and healthy and beautiful - never forget you are your fathers daughter. You should always be proud of that.
Party of 5, Felicity, Dawson’s creek, 90210, 7th Heaven later on Arrow were my safe haven. I didn’t go out with friends or partying I stay home watching this type of shows.
Same here!
Same!
Dawsons creek is life lol
Arrow ? You were already an adult when arrow came out ew
@@damien1781 And????
Awesome episode! Was always a huge fan of David & Donna, and Brian & Tori just seem so self aware. So nice to see that there are still some people in Hollywood who are still so down to earth.
I’m starting the year off rewatching this ep with these three faves. ❤❤❤
I really loved this conversation!!! It's important for people to know that people that are famous and in the spotlight are still real people, with feelings and true hearts. Thank you. God bless you all ❤️
I really Love Tori … she’s just a genuine soul. You guys are great !
I agree. Sometimes the show is great but the stars in it suck as people. Not in this case ,great show and great cast. That made the show so iconic. 💖 To Tori & David
Every girl needs a Brian in their lives! I found myself feeling like I could be in Tori's shoes during this conversation at times, almost feeling called out, but the reassurance and love from Brian and Randy was so refreshing.
This episode is just one of the amazing reasons to watch/listen to this podcast. Appreciate you all for being so candid and forthcoming.

Thank you! Great podcast, so amazing. She (Shannon) is so missed. ❤
@44:58 Tori is referring to Tiffani Thiessen, she told Tori she didn't like Dean McDermott and that's why they're no longer friends.
BTW Tiffani was right about Dean.
@@ErickRey1 , I have had same thing happen with a childhood friend. I didn't like his vibe so we drifted apart. When she left him, I was there to help her move forward. Best friends since 2nd grade and back again🥳😎
I came from TMZ, glad to be here! Such a fan of Brian and 90210, good vibes!
I was in the 4th grade when 90210 aired. I would pretend to go to sleep early, caugh and turnnon my tv 📺 and quietly watch in my bedroom!!!! ❤ i had all the tea that night couldnt sleep. I remember when Tori lost her verginity on 90210.Then Melrose Place came on right after 90210 🎉 then A Current Affair amd Unsolved Mysteries❤❤❤❤
Love this absolutely candid and transparent conversation. It’s quite apparent how genuine these relationships are. I can’t wait for part two! 🎉
Honestly,.. I loved that show, I am happy to see them talking again. ❤
38:00 I need answers ❤❤ loved the characters. Love the real humans too. Donna and David forever.
David! I love your podcast. This was a powerful one. Thank you thank you. I just felt like I had a counseling session and I feel great🦋🦋🦋
Brian this is your first ever podcast you v made with such a mega impact on me since you guest Shannen.. on top of that seeing you is giving such an authenticity to this human perspective not always that confortable for Tori..90210 and truth behind the scenes between the cast will always be Hits on Oldish ..Randy your last question to your sister made it as a real cliffhanger expecting to Monday s part 2.. Keep this trend and thank you for including Shannen s memory as I, we need her to stay ❤
Thank you Brian. This is an awesome podcast. Randy so incredibly smart ❤. It was great to see them all together in this intimate setting. Therapy for all of us.
I loved watching this. All 3 are relatable & down to earth. I met Tori at a book signing years ago when i was living in LA and I look back fondly. I relate to the phone thing, id rather write/text/email, i find that i express more clearly and appropriately that way. I agree people change, life experiences change us even if it’s a slight change or improvement.
Great to see Tori Spelling and Brian Green
Right! Iconic couple Donna and David lol
I just love Tori so much. She’s always so real and tells it like it is. Just the best. ❤
Thank you so much i love you all❤
I as so many on here grew up watching your show and having fond memories of you all. Theres very few people i care about in hollywood, and how their doing is Tori. Its tough growing up period, but in the Hollywood illusion it can be even worse. Anyways, this was really good, and as a 62 year old i have had as a christian a real follower of jesus, not a fake one. I've had to go thru a lot of healing and restoration, but with the Lords help walking with me and loving ❤️ me, i came out of being a victim. Anyways it never ends, but it does get better. Tori, keep going forward, and God bless you guys for all talking things out. Keep going 👍❤️
I loved this episode so much!! love seeing all of you together and Brian and Tori kinda hashing out the past. This was such a genuine and healing conversation. Love you guys
28:21 - 18-34 year olds were caught in the phenomenon. I was 19, away at University, watching you guys on my 4” b/w tv in my dorm room! I was Welsh backers, being they were Minnesota and I was in Ontario - we shared the same winter climate. I understood their culture shock to LA. AND YES, BRIAN, it was huge. I REMEMBER shopping at my mall back in Hamilton ONT, and Kathleen Robertson (a Hamiltonian) was home and was in Roots shopping, and so was I . What I didn’t realize was that she was there with her mother and that there was a “Body guard” watching her. People backed away to let her shop. I was oblivious to her being there. I continued to shop. I did notice KATHLEEN, but i didn’t ‘NOTICE’ it was her; just some pretty girl with her mother. My friend told me after. LOL!!
Thank you.I loved her very much and loved almost everyone on 90210
This was amazing to watch. I have been listening to Oldish since the beginning. I'm so glad I opted to subscribe on UA-cam as recommended in Brian's post. I will never go back to just watching. ❤
Wonderful podcast and conversation. Subscribed and looking forward to part 2. I grew up watching 90210... thanks for some great memories. So sorry on the loss of your castmate and friend Shannen.
Love the new podcast! Each person is different and brings something " to the table". Brian is very blunt, Randy is a quiet assesser ( life coach . I feel like he should smoke a pipe like his dad. Seems very calm), and Tori reminds me of the Donna character. The 18 years are over. A victory...like Brian stated. Clarification -resolution is the best.
Been a fan forever! Love you guys!
Oh I'm so glad I ran across this video in my feed. I'm subscribed!! Big fan!
I found you after reading an article on this very episode in the NYPost, I love the feeling of you getting together for a chat like this. I just subscribed and made sure of turning the bell On for all notifications. Big fan of all of yous. 🔥💯💪🏻
First time watching this podcast. Thank you ❤ Tori, you are amazing and strong. Don't ever forget it. ❤. Love you too Bri and Randy 😘
Thanks for watching!
It's great to see you guys! I watched every episode back then. I was in my 20s throughout the 90s. I would have never guessed that Shannon was such trouble behind the scenes! She played the part of such a sweet girl. It's a shame that she died. I just saw her in a reunion show of most of you just last year and she looked fine. Damn disease. I was shocked about Luke! That really sucks. I miss the guy. So I just bought Paramount Plus just to watch your show all over again. It was like a time capsule for me. I watched all ten seasons but was disappointed that they left some episodes out and didn't even show the final episode! Another thing I don't understand is how the seasons that Jamie Walters was on, they left out every single scene where he was playing his songs at the Peach Pit. Maybe some copyright issue I guess? I like his music and still listen to his CDs. In my opinion, the 90s was the last decade of some decent pop/rock. Then the boy bands took over...🙄 I just found your podcast tonight and subscribed.👍👍
What an impressive interview! More of a fun and interesting discussion amongst friends who care about each other and went through so many adventures together. Lot's of great stories, depth and honesty. So enjoyed this - thank you.
Good episode. Didn't know brians so wise and level headed. And randys a life coach. Tori it seems is still coming to terms with things.
Coming to terms? She has all them kids lol she's probably just trying to keep sane.
Flashback to ur characters on 90210 having ur radio station!
Guys u made my day, I am from Poland, and I have always been your huge fan, probably one of these crazy ones,😂 Thank you for helping me grow ❤
I always got mad when people said that Tori only got the job because of who her father was. I remember her on saved by the bell and just in that small roll. She was so good. she proved herself in that role
Aaron spelling on that episode of I love lucy. "You got an echo in that car" "there goes that echo again" 😂😂
I found this podcast today!! Fantastic! ❤Congrats guys! I will watch and listen regurlarly. ❤love from Finland
Cannot wait for the part two!
This was so real ❤ Great interview
Brian, thank you for bringing them together. Good to get a better sense of the human side of Tori! Beautiful work and thx for sharing. Loved her since Saved by the Bell.
This is so cool. I just found your podcast and subscribed.❤❤ I love seeing Randy❤ what a charming and intelligent, soft
spoken man❤ I like seeing this side of Tori also or should I say tea?😅😂
I enjoyed this episode ❤new sub❤ Brian is so smart❤❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing, it gives me hope with my lost brother❤🎉
I reunited w my sister two years ago. We hadn’t spoken in 20. I pray for your situation.
@@Pookie__53 , 😘
I loved Beverly Hills 90201 🌟 This is a great conversation. I can totally relate as a brother - I told my sister you deserve so much better but she had to find out herself. Like Tori said “it’s their journey”. 💛
Love from Ireland 💚🇮🇪 I was 12 when 90210 aired and still watch it
Oh gosh I love yall !! Tori you are not alone on the anxiety of everyday normal things.. I am the same way. I hate it about myself. One day at a time to become better. ❤
Huge fan of 90210. Also, loved Shannen ,💕may she rest in paradise. Loved her throughout 90210, mallrats, charmed.
You were a majot player, Brian. You had a great plot on the first and 2nd episode. I was just rewatching season 1. You saved Steve Sanders from driving drunk from the big party(no freshmen allowed) by driving his red Corvette to his home, but then you forgot to shift gear into 1st for parking. It rolled and crashed. Next episode Steve was on a mad tear to find the little nerd who crashed his car. You and Scott were trying not to be seen, but Scott left his favorite baseball cap in the Corvette. Steve caught you guys when you tried to break back into the Corvette. David Silver rules!
Appreciate this video ❤Shannen was absolutely beautiful.
I want to see yall I'm still getting used to podcasts but I want to see footage not just listening
Bro the moment I realized what this was and you said subscribe . I subscribed.
Oh my heart ❤️ thank you
Thank you for this episode. My sisters and I grew up in the same household and have very different perspectives about it. We drifter apart for a while and reunited a couple of years ago. Siblings bond is real.
I love this podcast and these people. I loved every minute of 90210. I related to things in this show in the 90’s. I still have every episode on vhs. I also have 2 sets of the full series on dvd. Nothing compares to this show ever! I still watch it. Randy is such a genuine human being! Tori and Brian are the greatest people. Love every bit of being Old-ish ❤
So glad I found this podcast. Just found this one and the 7th Heaven podcast Catching Up w/ The Camdens and the NCIS podcast. Love them so much!
I love Tori!!! And you all ! Shannen will be missed … ❤
I think it’s so beautiful that they all have a lot of kids! God bless them:)
Loved this so much. The conversation about the 18 years reminded me of the conversation you had with Soleil Moon Frye in her documentary. Such a familiar situation it seems for all of us as we grow up and wonder if the relationships that meant so much to us meant the same for the other person.
Love Randy's emails. They show up on my email dash just when I need the reassurance they bring. David and Donna forever. Love Randy and Tori as well! David and Donna got me thru those tough years growing up.
Great conversation! I hope Tori is getting counseling!
This was a great conversation ❤️
Fantastic podcast 😊
When 90210 aired I was 10 years old and I was probably 11:00 when I started reading the credits and realized Tori Spelling was related to the producer Aaron Spelling. I literally remember having the thought process of oh I bet you she just got that part because that is his daughter tune I don't think she would have got the part unless she was really good all the way to I feel really bad for her cuz nobody's going to think she's as good as she really. I had that entire thought process all within a few minutes. My heart always ached a little bit more for Tori
Very interesting conversations
