That's such a great idea!... I'm going to buy something to give a new camping person. I (Sandra) am the planner. Alex is a fly by the seats of his pants in planning. Thank you for answering my question "on air". Alex is so like your husband... He wants to do it, enjoys it but doesn't want the camera on him all the time. I too film all of our hotels and cigar events..I always have, plus I'm a cigar influencer so it's my "job". I appreciate the honesty that you both exhibit on film.

Oh I love that whoever gave us that toaster could inspire more of us to give back to new RVer’s. It was definitely memorable, and how neat to be able to also bless someone else that way.
I’d say maybe you could start a channel somehow where he didn’t have to be part of it and it could just be your thing. (If possible) Doing it together can be a way to connect and grow together, but it’s extremely challenging to BOTH be available to film, or in the mood to film, and both be motivated all the time to keep up on the content. If one isn’t fully on board it may not last long. So I’d find a way to make it your thing and if he wants to join in after a while, then maybe add him in. (?)

Great memories, never feel bad about crying! Y’all are sincere and down to earth following you is a pleasure. Can’t wait to see the truck and the build. We just picked up a fifth wheel on Tuesday, had to borrow a truck to pick it up. We have a F350 due into the dealership at the end of September! Atlanta traffic is bad all the time, never a good time me to roll through there and I agree with you on crowds.

Val, that first question where you got emotional...I felt like you were telling the story for the benefit of me and my wife. We are Nana and Papa to our grandkids, but with one exception, we go by Nama and Papa 😀. We have 5 grandkids ages 5 through 12, and take them camping with us as often as we can. We go to college football games, spend Thanksgiving in state parks and forest, up and down the Gulfcoast and southeast. And, since they all play soccer and two are on travel teams, well, we chase the soccer tournament circuit with them in our RV. We hope they too one day will have such great memories and carry them into their adulthood.

That would be terrible if that actually happened. There always the point too that a lot of people renovate old RV’s and fix them up really nice! So we don’t really fully understand that rule, but we do somewhat understand why they have it. Kind of confusing when it’s a case by case basis if you’re approved to stay somewhere or not. That would get frustrating.

So amazing to hear you had similar experiences! I guess square dancing was the thing to do back then!! lol
I love all those memories and so excited to read comments from others who remember those good ol days too 🥰 so interesting. I wonder if we’d ever figure out if any of our grandparents knew each other. That would be something!

Thanks for answering our question and the others! 👍 I’m thinking an editor is in our future once we monetize. We were discussing why we enjoy watching you two; it comes down to “you keep it real.” Thanks.

Jarrett, I love the truck idea, but I would go with adding the seats and interior from a new Chevy or GMC truck. Leave the outside “older” but with a newer interior swap. All the new creature comforts in an OBS. I mean if you’re going to do it, you might as well do it.

What a great video. So, you had my wife crying with you. We hope that we, Poppi and Mimi, are making those memories with our grandkids camping. Tip on the fire starter, I used them religiously until I forgot to bring them one day. I had a bag of pellets for our small smoker, scooped out a cup, little lighter fluid and was very impressed. Worked great, burned clean and is a cheap option, 20lbs for some cheap pellets. Very authentic video, love your stuff.

Aww, I’m sorry for the tears, but I know a lot of others can relate to those kind of memories flooding back. Especially emotional when you can no longer talk to those people in your life anymore. You will most certainly create some lasting memories for your grandkids! The details of the RV and all the things we think are important, aren’t the things they’ll remember. It’s in the time together, fishing, playing cards, skipping rocks…it’ll become part of who they are and how they remember you. 🥰thanks for the comment ☺️

Great video! Love your story, and the emotions embedded in a life time of camping. My wife of 46 years, and I, share many of the same emotions on RVing. We are older at 68, so you have much more to look forward to. After owning a fifth wheel, three class A’s and now a super C, we are still rolling.
I discovered your channel through the control thermostat change on your Aqua Hot 250D. After 3.5 years of ownership, I just changed our 7th control thermostat. 🤦‍♂️ Thanks to your video, I can change them myself in about 30 minutes.
Long story short, we never miss your videos! As for still rolling, we have 31,000 miles on our 2021 Renegade Verona. We will add another 6,000 miles in the next two months between Angel Fire, New Mexico and New Hampshire. We live in North Texas.
As empty nesters it is the best of both worlds as we get older. The grandkids and adult children still join us camping several time though the year. Then again, it is also awesome when it is just Peggy and I and our two dogs! That is what the next 6,000 miles will be.
Until next time, take care, stay happy, keep camping, and keep those videos coming!
    All the best!
    Wayne

Thanks Wayne for all the kind words! So funny about the aqua hot. Well, not that you’ve had to mess with it so much lol but glad we could help! But wow 30 minutes! Thats impressive! Can we watch YOUR video on how to change it? Haha!
The Renegades are nice! Sounds like you guys still have a lot of adventuring to do too with your family! How great, we love to hear it. ☺️

      Jarrett,
If I tried to video me changing the Aqua Hot control thermostat, it would take a thirty minute process and turn it into 1.5 hrs.😂 Then again, you would know better than I on that
PS: we owned a 1996 Choo Choo conversion suburban. That was before buying our first class A in 1998. The suburban was bad as…..!
We might be brothers from another mother.😂

I completely understand you becoming emotional with your memories. Some of my best memories are of growing up camping with my family. The five of us started in a tent, then a pop-up, then a travel trailer, then my parents eventually went to a class A motor home. We brought our son up camping, too.❤🥹
