I love your insight & recognition of the inclusion of their band members...John has always done that. My suggestion for your next John Farnham reaction would be 'When The War is Over' this version is one of the best I've seen. John is 50 in this and his voice is still as spectacular...but the emotion he shows I feel it would be even applicable to the wars raging today in our world. The horrors the soldiers have to face breaks ones heart. John sang this for our troops where they were peace keeping in Timor....There was not a dry eye in the place. ua-cam.com/video/BekbvlLzMWc/v-deo.html
The guitarist is Johnny Diesel, brother-in-law of Jimmy Barnes. Diesel is another great Australian artist. This performance is from the ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Awards), and the song is from Jimmy's Soul Deep album.
Our darling Aussie boy John Farnham has (in the last few days) had a marathon 12 hour surgery to remove a malignant tumour from his mouth which necessitated removing part of his jaw bone. Some reports are that he may never sing again. What a devasting blow to the possibility of losing his golden voice. He is a tough tough guy, with so much gifted work for disaster survivors across Australia. He is a beautiful genuine man & with most of Australia praying for his recovery. I have met him in person many times since I was 10 yrs old. Always happy, joking & loving, always. He will get through this with our love & support. XX
I'm watching this video again and it brought tears to my eyes. John Farnham is 73 now and just had emergency surgery, because of a tumour in his mouth a few days ago, also reconstructive surgery on his jaw, a very long recovery for him, he may never be able to sing again. His family put out that he's recovering well and good spirits. So every body who loves John send him your love. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺💌💌💌💌💌💌💌💌💌💌💌💌💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟
The guitarist name is Johnny Diesel. His is also a great singer and a brother in law to Jimmy. John Harnham and Jimmy Barnes are legends in this country and John F is considered Aussie Royalty. Phenomenal voice even now in his 70's.
John was always about being accessible to his fans, so his tours regularly went to the smaller places, and one of the later shows would be televised (hence the Lotto numbers) so those who still couldn't be accommodated got a chance to see him perform, and the rest of us had a second chance to experience him that tour.
The 'bad' boy and 'good' boy of the Aussie rock music scene. Jimmy was a 'bad,' wild one in his past, into booze and drugs and some fighting. His children held an intervention on their parents which turned Jimmy's choices and behaviour around. He says that he is very grateful for that. He's happily married, has matured and does work for charity, as does John. John is the 'good' boy with a clean image. He married his wife while quite young and they have been together for many years. Both guys value their children and family life. Both also have sung duos with a number of other famous singers from overseas. I don't know if John is religious, but by the messaging in his songs I think that he is spiritually orientated . A number of his songs are concerned about the greater good for the world. I'm glad that you have started to investigate our Aussie music. We have soooo much that a lot of people around the world have never heard. Another band that has a strong social and environmental message for the greater good is, Midnight Oil. 'Stand In Line' is a great song to start off with. You have to listen carefully to the lyrics. I'll fill you in with some surprising information about the front man after you have seen and heard it. Try to view LIVE videos of Aussie music where possible. We have a different energy here.
Thanks bro for this reaction I was excited about this one knew you would love it. Jimmy Barnes is insane to he was part of a band called “Cold Chisel” and the guitarist is jimmy’s brother in law Johnny Diesel who is an awesome musician and singer in his own right. To top things off we have the voice John Farnham doing his usual thing. These guys are superstars and deserve to be more recognised. If you wanna react to Jimmy check out “stone cold” with guitarist Joe Bonamassa it’s amazing I emailed you the link last time
That is one thing that Jimmy has always been excellent at, complimenting another singer. His original band, Cold Chisel had an equally excellent singer and Jimmy played an awesome back up singer in many songs. Chisel is one of those Aussie bands worth diving into if you haven’t already.
Love your reactions man!! As an Aussie we really appreciate that other people can recognise possibly 2 of the best singers in the world. Oh BTW, the guitarist, Diesel (Mark Lizzotte) is Jimmy's brother in law.
That was great. the guitar player is Diesel, who is a great singer in his own right. He fronts up the band, Johnny Diesel and the Injectors. Both John and Jimmy always celebrate their band members and put them out front with solos all the time Like John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes has so much great music. Early days with Cold Chisel. Four Walls or Flame Trees. Jimmy Barnes solo Working Class Man or Stone Cold feat Joe Bamamassa. John Farnham Pressure Down or That's Freedom
3 Aussie legends Jimmy, Johnny and Diesel. You can't get any better then when they perform together. Only ever saw John perform once, and can only say it was the best concert I have ever been to.
Yeah...and you guys didn't want to know forty years ago - not you personally, man - and now..? Happily you can still find the performances on video and CDs. Enjoying your enthusiasm - keep going.
