Quotes From Gather Together In My Name by Maya Angelou:
“Self-pity in its early stages is as snug as a feather mattress. Only when it hardens does it become uncomfortable.”
“The naturally lonely person does not look for comfort in love, but accepts the variables as due course.”
“I found it hard to think of leaving my books. They had been my elevators out of the midden, and to whom could I entrust such close friends?”
“Thus we lived through a major war. The questions in the ghettos was, can we make it through a minor peace?”

I really loved doing this tag. Love Barbara Pym as you know. Why Didn’t They Ask Evans was a favourite of Alice’s I believe. I will add Cora Sandel to my wish list.

I really enjoyed this tag and listening to the poems of Maya Angelou from other booktubers and hearing about the books they were reading.
One of the first booktubers that I found was Britta bohler and I have enjoyed her videos for a few years now. So, I chose the book Lonely Graves (written by Britta and Rodney Bolt as one of the books to read. I enjoyed the story, the writing and their turn of a phrase. Also, I know why the caged Bird sings and the Diaries of Virginia Woolf. I love pym too. So glad you mentioned Agatha Christie. She is the author I've had the longest relationship with having read her in my teens. Ah, Joy in the Morning. I have not read the book but the image of Yvette Mimeux flashed into my mind. 😊

Somehow I just love that you actually didn't do your own tag--until now! A perfect ending to the Phenomenal Woman Readathon! I'm glad that you came back and did your own tag too. I'm still seeing people doing the tag. They're popping up all over. Brian at The Bookish Texan just posted his version this morning. How wonderful! Loved your responses, Marilyn. 🥰
