As a F14 fan the F22 had many more years of development over the F14 concept 1968-1974 introduction. F22 is the most dominant fighter ever. Also the most expensive...@@KLRGT500KR
man those are some tight turn radius' on display. The Tomcat was HUGE, much bigger than the F-15 or the F-16 but the aerodynamics of the aircraft made it possible to make those tight turns.
For everyone who said that the 14 wasn't very maneuverable, uh that was a 19 second 360 degree sustained turn at the 4:55 mark of this video. Mmm hmmmm
Yeah, a full 360 degree in under 18 seconds. Most likely pulling a sustained 8.5 - 9g at about 400 - 450 knots. An F-14 fighter pilot said, officially F-14 could do a full 360 degree turn in less than 1300 feet diameter. This video demonstrates that.
CAG Andrews was on the 83/84 "combat cruise" with the Independence. Strikes on Grenada then flew an A-7 on the lebabnon strike in December 83. Made his bomb run ok and went back to do his own BDA. Got hit by a SA-7 and bailed out.
in 5:14 till 5:16 if pilot did not pull stick to the left, and did not increase power and continue to pull stick back, aircraft perform P.H.A.A maneuver,( if you attention carefully in 5:16 the aircraft's tail begin to Drift till pilot push stick to left),which these days named Cobra, in p.h.a.a we did aircraft nose to the 84 degree (when speed between 340 NM to 130 NM), and fighter stop completely in the air for 1or 2 second and then the nose of fighter begin to fall down, this maneuver these day named cobra which we did it many times with F-14 about 10 year before su-27 Families did it and change its name , Cobra...
He flew the B with the GE-F110 engines and there are videos of his demo on YT of him in the F-14B. The only issue is, he did not go as crazy since the rules had tightened up in the 90s on what the pilots could do or not do to prevent mishap especially in terms of how many Gs they could pull at low altitude. He was known to pull 9 - 10 G with the Tomcat in airshows.
Hands down, one of THE VERY BEST Tomcat demos that I have EVER SEEN! Snort was born to fly!
Yes!!!!
R.I.P Dale 'Snort' Snodgrass. He is flying F-14 Tomcats up there in the heavens alongside angels.
Amen
@@vonderlinn Thanks man.
Shows the awesome power (even with the A version) and the incredible turning capabilities of the F-14. The greatest fighter ever made. Period.
It so isn't.
@@THE-BUNKEN-DRUM That is what I said and that is my opinion. It is definitely ONE Of the greatest fighters ever made, to say the least.
@@KLRGT500KR : "The greatest fighter ever made. Period."
That's what I'm contradicting.
@@THE-BUNKEN-DRUM Yeah, I would say F-22 is the greatest fighter ever made.

Love the the F-14A, it's more Styled than its upgraded versions.
And Dale flew the Hell outta them ! ✊
Apart from the nozzles, & a few repositioned antennas, it looks exactly the same as all other models.
I miss those days when the FAA didn't have a bunch of anal rules...back then, they just said "the airspace is yours, just don't kill anybody"

That was Cdr. Ed "Hunyak" Andrews (VF-84 , VF-101) signature maneuver.
Having flown this girl... I can tell you, that hurt. That was a long series of "hicks". Diamondbacks Baby.
@@ramosel Thanks for sharing that. What was the highest Gs you ever pulled in the F-14?

Watching snort fly is like watching Leonardo Da Vinci paint .....a work of art
Nice demo. Quite unique material. Thanks for sharing👍👍

Man... Hands down, one of the best displays ever.
Watched top gun earlier today and seeing this is like dessert!
Imagine this same profile flown with the GE engines...now that would be something. Easily the best video on YT of SNORT in an F-14.
LastGunfighter I knew this was snodgrass. ......THE BOSS

1:06 Pilot RIO find out what the colour of adrenalin looks like!! Sure got me going!
best demo ive seen....
Dale "The Boss" Snodgrass!
"Snort"
The Driver is amaizing.
So if you watch the video closely at around the 2:40 you will see something very unique to the F-14A, it's glove vane.
Wish I could've seen a Tomcat fly before the U.S. Navy retired them. Dale Snodgrass really know how to make the aircraft perform.
Holy sh!t!!! at 1:06!!!
My favorite in the US Navy and best design.
Cant imagine almost flying into the terrain was part of the routine
High viz camo Tomcat - the good old days
