Loved this Avia, you're so right about allowing ourselves to be bored, only the other day my family were chatting about how kids aren't allowed to be bored anymore because as soon as they are we give them screens but you just highlighted we are a bunch of hypocrites because we don't allow ourselves to be bored! I'd like to try this challenge myself! Keep living your best life! ❤
Literally just spending my Sunday catching up on ur videos!!! U motivate me sm! I’m gonna work on getting ready to move out this year and u are a hugeeee reason I’m ready to start this process!
i thought this was originally going to be funny but fuck it just ended up being sad.. there are actually people out there who make their breakfast & their first instinct is to share it online to the world...
Really enjoyed watching this! Maybe for the future just try deleting all your social media instead of your whole phone being gone. Because tht is really heard to be honest 😮 and I can say from personal experience having them deleted and going on them every now and then is a game changer! ❤
I know this might sound like such a random thing to say but you are just flourishing as an independent woman and the fact that you see love and beauty in EVERYTHING (in rain, sunshine, snow, etc) is absolutely beautiful. You are gorgeous Avia, keep being you 🩷 I hope your skin stays clear, I hope your hair works the way it’s meant to, I hope you achieve all your goals, I hope you tick off everything that has ever been on your bucket list and I hope you continue to live a long, happy, beautiful, inspiring life.
Good morning Avia happy new year to you and your loved ones and I hope that 2024 brings you a lot of love and happiness I enjoy your channel because you are amazing
Good job! Next challenge you should try to just not use any socials and see how you adapt. Uninstall all the apps and pay attention to what else you use your phone for and if you still use it and how you use it to pass time.
It never rains in California But girl, don't they warn ya? It pours, man, it pours 🌧☂ Hahaha standing there turning the lights on and off, okay that was funny 🤣🤣🤣.
Me as a jew we have Shabbat and every weekend from Friday to Saturday night for 24h we can’t go on any electronics it’s honestly soo relaxing and really good for my mental health in my personal opinion so it’s actually cool seeing you do it in a way
Avia!!!!!!!!!! please please please please use anything else to open you cans besides your beautiful teeth. All the love from someone who loves your smile. ❤
Avia, I love that you did this challenge! We as humans today can’t seem to function without our cell phones. Even not growing up with one, when my battery is low I get anxious. I was born in the 80’s and grew up playing in the streets and hanging out at the mall with friends in the 90’s… way before cell phones were a thing. We did have pay phones available so if we needed to call our parents we were able to but for the most part we were latchkey kids. We found a lot of fun things to do. Hanging out at the skate park, the mall, movie theatre, skating rink, arcades, even the grocery stores had arcade machines! When we weren’t able to hang out with friends, we still spent a lot of time outdoors. My parents rule was not to run back and forth in and out of the house, and my rear had better be back inside five minutes before the street lights came on. If I heard either parent yell my name, I was in big trouble 😂 if I was in the house, I spent a ton of time listening to the radio, cassette tapes, or records, drawing, writing poetry or journaling, 80’s and 90’s makeup and hair 🤭 I loved my caboodle ❤ also my Ninetendo 🥳
i got my phone stolen at a festival in july. i still havent gotten a phone, i do have a flip phone for emergencies. but it feels so good not to be attached to a screen all day long. im proud of you, not many people can do this
Love the challenge! To take it a step further and still be able to talk to loved ones- what if you did a challenge where you only had a flip phone for a week?
My job would sometimes have me in the middle of nowhere for 2+ weeks. No communication outside of our group, besides a satellite phone reserved more for emergency contact. The first time coming back into society felt so strange. I was in a Subway feeling stunned. Everyone going about their regular business while you're adjusting. Finding out what happened in the news. I grew up without internet or very slow dial up internet, so i still have some pre-phone habits. Like keeping a Garmin in my car. Which i think is good in case you're ever in a place without cell service. Anyway, I think a break away from it all is good for everyone, even in less extreme ways.
I think the hardest part for me would be no podcasts and no communication with my kids. 3 are grown and moved out and 2 are married. And now I have a grand baby and one on the way. That would be rough. However I did no Instagram in January and I loved that. I got on it 3 times I think but that’s it.
Great challenge it was fun seeing you get bored and random like doing eyeliner for fun etc, i've done 7 days and it felt like ages. Remember TikTok's algorithm is designed to show you stuff it knows you like, it can be very fun but it makes us adhd and it becomes time consuming so I uninstalled it. Great video though!
During lockdown I went 2 weeks without my phone and I thought I had told the important people but then my friends did a phone tree to get to me to make sure I was OK 😂 clearly I was too on my phone for it to cause such concern
Is she checking her answering machine? Well....the tape might be full. She'll have to find a pay phone and use her MCI long distance card to call Idaho.
I think everybody spends a lot of time on their phones nowadays in this generation. I will admit, I am guilty of such. I also try to stay off social media.
Pick up a new craft and get good at it. The world is so much more. You can do good at anything you want! You want to be a pianist? You can. You want to be a painter? You can. You want to be a writer? You can. Start writing. Sign up for a creative writing course. You can literally be good at anything. No one is stopping you. Isn’t that crazy?
Not to be political lmao, but capitalism has kinda put into our heads that we have to constantly be busy or productive. its good to have downtime and be bored :) that mental rest is good!
@@azchrosette yes… I know how addicted people are to their phones. I live in this world and have eyes and have a phone. The drama is making a whole video about it and how boring life is without a phone. If you’re that addicted that 24 hrs without a phone is that boring, that is dramatic and being addicted to anything in that way is not healthy

I wish that Emmi Butler would do her own videos, too, from time to time.
Colette and Avia, Paris trip is a must, your mom will never have this moment again. This is the time before you are busy

It’s always a better day when Avia posts I swear✨
watching all the way from rome
And today's word is ... HOBBY! Paint, draw, crochet, etc... It passes the time better. ;)
Makes you wonder if she has any? 🤔
i thought this was originally going to be funny but fuck it just ended up being sad.. there are actually people out there who make their breakfast & their first instinct is to share it online to the world...
I’m always curious how people in like the 80s/90s dealt with boredom without their phone. Sometimes I wish we didn’t have them tbh😂
The way i gasped like Mike Faist was in the movie theater with you 😭😭😭 8:39
loved the clips of when you were getting bored lmaoo, the cut to the eyeliner caught me off guard 😂
I agree Argylle is a great movie, lots of action and fun moments.
Set some reading goals this year. I used to read so many books and I am trying to get back into those good habits.
I love your videos so much you always put a smile on my face xx

When you were talking into a camera wishing you can take a picture of your outfit made me laugh harder than it should have. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

As a fellow music lover, a record player is a great investment, the vinyl life hits different 😋

I think I’m gonna try this on Thursday!!
This was such an awesome exercise!
get a stereo and some CD so you can still listen to music in your offline time, just a tip for next time 😁
I made this comment on her tiktok.. and she removed my comment.

Were we with you on a pee? 😂😂😂 8:49
Avia urban outfitters has this croissant candle, and I immediately thought of you 😅
Believe it or not there actually was a time when people didn’t have cell phones. I kind of like that better.
These young adults have no idea lol
I think you’d be able to do it and one of my favorite songs is vampire by Oliva Rodrigo you got me into that song😁😁😁
I really need to try this challenge. I'm on my phone constantly
Nice video! ❤
I’ve been watching your dad’s Videos for a long time
loved thid vid
I couldn't go 24 hours without my phone. You have way more self control then I do

Hello, Avia. Are you ready super bowl? 😮😅
I was just thinking about you and about not being on my phone..I didn't reach for it until 8:40 am.
the pause you took 30 seconds in LMAO
You can’t listen to music in the car? Do you not have a radio lol

i went 3 months without mine when i was on ship. at the time there was no service no data nothing so it was useless.
Me watching this on my phone lol. I need to do the same
I love the upside down wall twerk. Lol
Is she checking her answering machine? Well....the tape might be full. She'll have to find a pay phone and use her MCI long distance card to call Idaho.
No Google maps but like… is Mapquest still a thing? Lol
Do it with your family next time you go home that would be interesting.
I got my socks on, I've got my socks on, I've got my argyle socks on.

brb. going to go delete instagram because you inspired me to scroll less. 😂
I think everybody spends a lot of time on their phones nowadays in this generation.
I will admit, I am guilty of such. I also try to stay off social media.
Avia, it's RicottA cheese, not RicottO cheese. Like Ricott-UH. Just helping out.
It's silly to take pictures of your food.

This is so dramatic for just not using your phone for 24 hrs. No hate but you have gotta implement this more lol
People are legit attached to their phones - in this day and age, I wouldn't call it dramatic at all 😅
