Wow! enjoy hearing the difference between the Direct and Focused and Warm & Broad. Looking for something new...really would like to try these strings! THANKS
What a great video. I love that combining the sets can make a blended sound that enhances the instrument and can find the perfect match to the instrument. Well done.
Like the warm and broad A string...have a very bright Strad pattern cello and this would be great. How do the A and D pair with lower strings from other brands?
What a cool concept to implement in a single string line ! I have always played with various weird mix of strings. That starter kit might be more affordable than buying lots of strings just to experiment. It's like a lab in itself.
Ashamed to say it's been at least 5 (maybe 7) years since I changed strings. They are a huge investment. If I don't win the giveaway, your video assured me that the Larsens are a solid choice.
Fantastic sound. Going to try these new strings! Thank you for giving the demo you could hear the difference in the sounds of Warm & Broad vs Direct & Focused.
Hi Joel, sorry for any confusion caused by someone responding from their personal account, but: you won! Sorry also for the delay, there were staffing changes and this giveaway got lost in the shuffle. Anyhow, please contact us at emailreply@sharmusic.com with your contact info (address/phone/email), and we'll get those strings to you ASAP! Failure to claim your prize by January 5, 2021 is considered forfeit of the prize, upon which said prize will be offered to another contestant.
As a cello player I’ve always bought Larsen cello strings, always prefer warmer sounds. Have bought the magnacore years before. This would be great to have!!!!
Very nice review. I tried out the Il Cannone strings (direct & focused) before seeing this video, and I loved them immediately. Still do. Wish they weren't so expensive, but that's life as a cellist, right?
Oh! I think I'm too late to enter :( But a very interesting video all the same - I always have trouble with the sound of my A string and would love to try these!
Love the options these varied strings create! I'm way overdue for a fresh set of strings; my A seems to be growing just too bright for the rest, so if I don't win the free sets, I'll be saving my pennies in hopes of trying them out.
You guys selected who the winner for the Il cannone strings?!? I don’t want to keep getting my hopes up 😭😅😅 I was really looking forward to that A string sound 🥲🥲
We have, unfortunately! Please give us a follow, we're planning on doing similar giveaways in the future (plus we always announce these contests first via email: www.sharmusic.com/shop.axd/EmailSignup). Sorry you didn't get a crack at this one.
Thanks for making this video review! Just curious, how do these strings compare to Magnacore Ariosos? I currently have a full set of those on my Jay Haide Statue cello.
Hi, Susie, thanks for the question! It is a little hard to compare them, to be honest! The Il Cannone strings are medium tension compared to the lower tension (Especially on the G and C) of the Arioso strings. The feel is definitely different. The breadth of sound options you can get by mixing and matching the strings to your instrument from the Il Cannones is dramatic. If your cello requires lower tension strings, the Arioso may be your best bet, but I was astounded by the flexibility the Il Cannone strings had to adapt to the VERY different cellos we were testing. -Aaron
@@SharMusicTV Thanks for your response! I love trying different strings on my cello to see how it changes the sound. Before the Ariosos, I had Larsen Soloists on the upper two strings and Ariosos on the lower two. (I have tried Spirocore Tungsten on the lower two strings before the Ariosos.) My cello sounded good with the Soloists, but it sounds even better with the full set of Ariosos. It would be interesting to play around with the Il Cannone to see how it sounds on my cello.
It would have been interesting to ear the strings at the right tension, unfortunately the tuning is much lower than 440Hz, in my opinion the differences between the two types of strings could have been more noticeable in a UA-cam video (with a lot of compression). Thanks anyway for the comparison!
What a great time to be a cellist. So many choices!
Thanks for the demo, can wait to try them on my cello
Thanks for the video! I've liked the Larsens strings I've had. Excited to try possibly try these out sometime!
Thanks for the contest entry 👍
Definitely an informative video, I am very curious about these strings. Please do find a cellist to play next time though!
Lmao
I have been using the Magnacore strings and am anxious to try the new Canonne strings
Wow! enjoy hearing the difference between the Direct and Focused and Warm & Broad. Looking for something new...really would like to try these strings! THANKS
Excited to try this new line of Larsens. Not sure how they will stack up against Magnacores though!
Thank you for the review. It's difficult to hear the differences on my little tablet speaker....
What a great video. I love that combining the sets can make a blended sound that enhances the instrument and can find the perfect match to the instrument. Well done.
Will definitely want to give them a try. Haven’t found the perfect Larsen A for my cello yet and think warm and broad could be the answer!
Excellent video, very useful and helpful. Great sounding strings.
Could you demo a full set of broad and warm strings?! Really helpful!
I love the sound of the combo...that you can mix/match depending on the instrument. I'm considering purchasing the starter pack!
Big difference between the two types of C strings! That Warm & Broad C sounded amazing, even through my awful computer speakers.
Thank you for the demo! Love the starter set!
Great new release of the variety pack. Love the differences between the two types of the strings! I particularly like the Warm & Broad C sound.
Great demo! I am always eager to learn more about choosing strings. Looking forward to trying these.
Like the warm and broad A string...have a very bright Strad pattern cello and this would be great. How do the A and D pair with lower strings from other brands?
Super clear and useful video!! Subscribed!!
Are there any plans for Larsen to make a set for viola? the warm and broad sound great!
Good to see Larsen offering more string varieties. This was a very helpful video. I can’t wait to try them.
I would love to try these strings
I've typically used Larsen Soloist, but my cello favors a warmer sound so these sound perfect!
What a cool concept to implement in a single string line ! I have always played with various weird mix of strings. That starter kit might be more affordable than buying lots of strings just to experiment. It's like a lab in itself.
Looking forward to hearing more about these strings. Mix and match seems like an interesting idea.
Looking forward to hearing more. The mix and match idea sounds great.
The direct and focus set with Warm and Broad C was truly warm, I loved the depth of the C and how it continues to ring with sound.
Nice product intro and an innovative concept I cannot wait to try.
Ashamed to say it's been at least 5 (maybe 7) years since I changed strings. They are a huge investment. If I don't win the giveaway, your video assured me that the Larsens are a solid choice.

How exciting to have a new cello string to try!
As a cello player I’ve always bought Larsen cello strings, always prefer warmer sounds. Have bought the magnacore years before. This would be great to have!!!!

The way he puts down the cello.
I want to try these even though the word "Cannone" is a little too close phonetically to "canon"...
Thank you for this video!
Do you recommend these strings for a 7/8 size cello?
Yes, they should suit a 7/8 cello just fine! Thanks for your question.
