The show was amazing and enough to see and do for the whole day. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise. The man on the microphone what a character he was. I had a great time though the weather was just relentless. I felt for the re enactors given the material and amount of equipment. Fair play to them all for making it so good. Roll on next year.
It really was a great day or for me two days out. I still did not get to see everything. I have now been for the 5th time and each year have met people who are willing to share and explain things. The commentator is really good comical and a wealth of knowledge. It was too hot for me really, I do not like the heat, a rest in the shade of the tent every so often kept me going By the time I got home I had walked 7 1/2 miles on Saturday and 8 1/2 on Sunday. I am full of admiration for the re enactors in those temperatures with full battle dress it is a wonder they had the energy to charge about it was bad enough in light clothing. Lets hope we are given the chance to go to a bigger and better show next year.
Thank you Calvin. Being a model maker myself I like to get close ups of things. It is also great we can now see the true colour of things and not just go by the plans. I actually went on both days this year With so much to see it is still not possible to look at everything, there is a whole area of WW1 I did not get to have a look round this year. The highlight for me was seeing the Lancaster for only the 2nd time and an added bonus was it flew over on both days as it was only scheduled for Saturday.
It sure was hot on both days, Sunday was worse with all the dust which must of stuck to those in the battle. You put on a great show and I really appreciate the effort you put in. It was bad enough walking round in light clothing.
@@Number-rz3jc I think it is important to keep these events alive. It is the 5th year I have been now and each time I have learnt more about military history.
It was for me as well really. I usually get a lift there and the guy could not go, so had to make my own way there. The main thing I wanted to see was the Lancaster fly past on the Saturday. I decided to go on Sunday as well which was even hotter and very dusty by then, but there was a bit of breeze both days and I kept going in the bar tent to shade from the sun a while. Glad I could show you some of what was on show this time. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I am a reenactor with the 9th Hohenstaufen and it was the hottest event ever. Must have lost half a stone in sweat.
