16:15 this is a great point; make yourself annoying and exhausting to shoot. people will shoot whatever gets them the most hitmarkers the quickest. just constantly diving behind corners and cover or rolling through, messing up their comms ''ball behind!'' they turn and you've already left. that kinda stuff brings insane value
I love the point he makes about engaging with full health. One mistake I have made on Ball is engaging without my armor or shield health simply because I think they won't shoot me, when in reality the whole team starts shooting me because I'm now a killable target.
@@solidforge2016 Being full health is super important. I like to think of it like this: Choose any character and nerf their HP by 10 or 20%. They probably become unplayable.

Game 8 on Rialto was really a masterclass of why a higher rated tank is able to take over a game. You single handedly got 2 points for free by harassing the enemy team 1v5 and then were able to completely nullify their push just by stalling and knowing your limits. I've only made it that far, but that game was really really impressive.

The best thing I learned from this is that if you force out enemy team's abilities prematurely then they won't be able to use them to either defend themselves or use it offensively against your team and die giving you absolutely massive value.
This and the recent ball changed motivate me to try to learn ball!!

Alsoooo, I’m only an hour in but with your sammich technique it is extra beneficial because it really allows you to maximize those shields and drop em on your teammate just another benefit to it :)

i watch a lot of Ballers, including Moreweth; and someone asked Weth what he thought about Shout or why he didn’t use it in that moment or something… and Weth responded like laughing and sarcastically said “what is that?” bc he almost never uses it.
but the thing is, it shows.
he’s always complaining about his team dying, and it’s often people who are diving w him or while he’s sitting on 300+ shields that don’t get used.
if he used shout more in certain situations, he’d be even better than he is right now.

Very helpful video! I’m really starting to see where my shortcomings are presenting themselves in my Wrecking Ball gameplay. Are there any tips for improving aim mechanics? I know that it comes down to practice but are there any custom game modes or training regimens that you would recommend for improving my aim?
I think aimlabs is really good, they even have a ranked mode so you can see where you compare. However, if you just want to get better at overwatch then aim is one of the smaller factors.
yes, aimlabs for general aim training. But there is a custom game code (VAXTA is the code) that can let you aim train against strafing overwatch bots. i like to use it while i wait for games.

when on the backline, when should you chose to roll through and when should you use slam? I feel like I see you doing both a lot even when the slam cd is up.

Watching the enemy team swap to Sombra and get 0 value from hacking you off cool down is 😩👌
@yeatle is super correct about aim mechanics etc., vs game sense, timing, pacing, setups, all that. If you ever see Shroud sometimes checking out OW2, he usually gets shit on in Plat even though his aim is significantly better than everyone in the lobby.
Also one thing I really want to point out here with this video is look at how "good" your teams always play, their stats absolutely stomp the other team's stats every single time...this is because Overwatch is a team game, and when people here in chat aren't playing tank well, their team is going to do poorly too. Their weak scoreboard performance is typically a reflection of you on tank, not them on support/dps.
I didn't even notice streamer mode until he says it but that's actually so cool for streamers to not get sniped
Do you have any videos on how to play WITH ball? I struggle a ton as support/DPS especially if I'm not diving with him (ie ball is the outlier in the comp). I usually manage to get by because Ball is pretty rare in my games, but knowing how to better play with him would be great.

I'm at the beginning of your video saying that ppl complain that everybody shoots them, that's positioning and you are 100% right, my usual problem with ball is that while I'm trying to scout and set up my teammates already die, no matter how fast I do it. Like they need babysitting with a shield tank. It's doesn't matter usually that I'm fighting against both supports. That is my usual problem.
Yeah there's not much you can do about them dying early, all you can try to do is be quicker or force point.

Every single game I play the entire team focuses me no matter where I am
I can tell you that going against a top-notch Ball player can be absolute misery!! I got matched against one 3 games in a row last night in qp and my team had no idea how to handle him. We won 1 of those 3 but he still made life a nightmare.
3.5hrs into this video and I just won 8 matches in a row, like 90% with ball :D
